It's a faaaaaaakeNeat, but getting your hands on a Vita is still the best way to play PSP games.

Everyone else is poking fun at what you've said, but I'll send you helpful videos:This could easily become the best handheld retro/emulator machine ever made.
Not even close. The Switch Oled and Steam Deck Oled are better for visuals alone thanks to their screens. That isn't even to mention all the features of the Steam Deck in general. The PlayStation Portal just can't compete. This could easily become the best handheld retro/emulator machine ever made.
I don't get the point of this thing. You can achieve the same result with a tablet and a kickstand with your same PS5 controller paired wirelessly or even USB. Why bother with such a restricted device?
Dude the difference in size between the retroid and the portal is totally different, no reason to compare them. That's the power of the PS brand, my guy. Not indicative of the product's quality.
As I've mentioned, Retroid Pocket 4 Pro can run up to PS2/GC natively, in a pocket format, with good battery life and better internal storage for the same price. Plus it can run all the streaming platforms available.
Paying $200 for a device that can just do streaming is nuts, imo (or emulation of old devices only). You have way better devices for way less.

Don't worry guys, all of the parents that didn't nt realize that you need a PS5 to play this are in the process of returning them and this will be discontinued soon. DO3monthsafterAit has one use case now. Good.
Aways found Portal silly and kinda stupid.
But this right there is some very interesting stuff.
That was one example to show that there are more powerful devices for the same price even at a smaller form factorDude the difference in size between the retroid and the portal is totally different, no reason to compare them.
yeah that is horrible lol.I guess it's neat for existing owners to get some use out of it but yeah, not something to get for this use at all.
Snapdragon 680 or something like that, pretty crummy, would probably be better off getting a controller shell or whatever for your phone, easier to install the emulators and stuff on it too.
It only has 6 GB of available storage:
I doubt this unfortunately.
Edit: I should specify why and that is because of the internal components. The components do their current asked tasks wonderfully, but storing psp games and running at close to good performance will be an issue. It probably would do a good job up to ps1, but then file size becomes an issue.
Its a shame Sony didn't support PS1/PSP for the PS Portal.
The advantage is a much larger screen & built in Dualsense.
But yeah, still a limited appeal unless you just want a dedicated streaming device.
You can emulate PSP on a sub-$100 device easily. $150-200 Chinese retro handhelds are emulating PS2 and GameCube at this pointAways found Portal silly and kinda stupid.

The Portal costs $200, for its emulation capabilities to be interesting it would have to be capable of PS2, not PSPOk...and whats exactly your point?

Some people hack & jailbreak stuff just to brag and prove that it's possible, not to create the best emulation machine out there.I don't get it, it's like jailbreaking an iPhone just to make it do the things you want that Android does out of the box. Just get a steam deck and save yourself the headache.
The point is it should do both!!!! both I tells ya!Sony: Stream cutting-edge current-gen games to a handheld device!
Some folks for some reason: Would be better if it played 15-20-year-old ROMs like the 1000s of retro handhelds already available.
The hack won't be released anytime soon according to him.

Personally I think the device is way overpriced for what it is, but that's just me.

oh so this thing isn't completely worthless now? but still not worth it
buy a flagship galaxy phone from four years ago, a controller shell or BT to dualsense
A 7 inch oled screen attachment for playstation classic would have been cooler than the portal what a waste

Or an Xbox Series console![]()
That's not exactly a handheld device, is it. Although I only just found out the Moonlight app is available in retail mode (and has been since 2021), so you can stream anything you want to it.
Nah
Why buy a closed PC?
Yeah, I powered my Portal on again today and this is still a issue. Can't believe its not fixed yet.I mean, emulation can suck it, what needs to go on here is:
Chiaki - Hopefully remove the stutter that plagues the official use for this device.
Not all Tablets support Sony's Remote Play. Or the remote app doesn't support these Tablets. Whatever.I don't get the point of this thing.
