Lucid has people with Bizarre Creations and Liverpool Studio pedigree like Firesprite and are set in the same city, so would be nice to absorb it into Firesprite.Well, they will partake in the consolidation process, whether they want to or not. I expect them to get Arrowhead in the near future, plus, maybe, Lucidgames. In fact, I expect them to get more many more European studios - to bolster their presence over there - and a couple of Asian ones. In addition they need to acquire small VR teams, and a mobile gaming publisher as well...
It says ‘and m&a’ which is mergers and acquisitions.Great job and nice visual presentation, it's very eyes catchy.
The last job offer seem to be focused on ongoing growth via strategic acquisitions. "inorganic growth" as in opportunist investments, in opposition with "organic growth" = acquistions of long term partner studios ?

If we assume the following are the first party releases for 2022
Uncharted LOT Collection
Horizon Forbidden West
Gran Turismo 7
God of War Ragnarok
Anyone care to guess what we'll get in 2023??
Spider-Man 2
......
Spidey 2
TLOU online
a few VR games, whenever that launches
(Firesprite, Asobi, London, etc)
maybe Bend's game
or the 2nd game Guerrilla has been making
Don't count out Bluepoint. They remade Demon's Souls in less than 36 months. They could possibly have something coming for late 2023, tho more likely for early 2024. Could be a smaller shorter game, like Miles Morales & Lost Legacy.
I think that if they buy Lucid would be to integrate it into Firesprite since they are in the same city and have former Studio Liverpool and Bizarre creations staff more than their own merits as Lucid in case they want to grow Firesprite more. In fact there's former Lucid staff in Firesprite and former Firesprite staff in Lucid. So their integration of Studio Liverpool, Evolution and Bizarre Creations into a single studio would be more complete.Lucid have not proven themselves and Arrowhead will not elevate the group of studios..... maybe if their next game is a hit. I'd prefer IOI or something like that.

They have a team working on a multiplayer game. The rumor was Socom though not Killzone. It's like people arguing for Guerrilla to do another Killzone... just not gonna happen imo.
I know it may seem like super optimistic at first glance, but to be honest Sony has a lot (and I mean A LOT) of games in development, so once the impact of the pandemic starts to finally fade away, we'll begin to have some amazing years when it comes to first-party output.Think that's pretty damn optimistic tbh.
Also, I just can't see Infamous getting a new game. It's not a strong IP and Sucker Punch have just had their first major with Ghost. They're going to be on that for the entire generation, more than likely.
It's like people arguing for Guerrilla to do another Killzone... just not gonna happen imo. We're talking about almost objectively weaker IP. Or ND and Jan and Dexter.

The inFAMOUS game is reportedly not being developed by Sucker Punch, so it doesn't really matter whether SP are busy with Ghost or not.
The inFAMOUS game was publicly talked about by Nick on the XboxEra podcast, but I had also heard rumblings of it myself through the grapevine, so this is one rumor that I'm sort of buying into personally.Yeah I think we will get a substantial uplift in first party releases, maybe 6 a year or so. Maybe even 8 with VR games included. I just think 10+ is pretty unlikely.
Where exactly did the Infamous rumour come from? I forget. I dunno, it just doesn't seem that likely to me.
Guerrilla actually said that they were aiming at becoming a multi-team studio back in 2018 when they announced their plans for moving into a bigger building the following year. This was shortly after Simon Larouche got hired and appointed as director on a yet to be unveiled "secret" project.Has the second team ever actually been confirmed? I just tend to take it as read, but I'm not sure it's ever been acknowledged anywhere.

Yeah, but if other much more obscure/forgotten franchises such as Wipeout, Twisted Metal or Sly Cooper are also getting new games on the PS5, then it becomes less surprising to see a relatively successful IP such as inFAMOUS making a return as well.Kind of weird to me how they'd bother with Infamous, but who knows. Surely getting a new Uncharted made is the real priority, although maybe they're on that too.

About Uncharted and knowing that Naughty Dog has brought back Shaun Escayg (The Lost Legacy) as a creative director and writer on a project, I'd expect the studio to do something with the series sometime in the future, especially given Sony's high hopes for the Uncharted movie.
Yeah it is happening, I first heard about it nearly a year ago. Never played the series myself, but good for those who care.Oh yeah, I forgot about the Sly Cooper thing. Apparently Grubb said that's happening - another weird one.
This is my fear as well - that having so many exclusives throughout the year (most of them at 70 dollars/80 euros) would make them cannibalize each other like it used to happen during the PS3 days...It's not so much that they're bad ideas, just more that how many damn exclusives do they actually NEED? I always thought 2 or 3 a year was definitely too few, but more than 6 or so seems like overkill.

No clue since it seems to be super early...Any idea who's doing the Sly Cooper game?
Yeah, that might be the case. Hopefully it works out for them now that there's much more goodwill and prestige attached to their first-party games than during the PS3 era.Perhaps the way to look at it is that they just want to tap more markets directly, multiplayer, kids' games etc.
They should've gotten RaDWell, they will partake in the consolidation process, whether they want to or not. I expect them to get Arrowhead in the near future, plus, maybe, Lucidgames. We know they have a 2nd team working on a AAA game. The Rainbow 6 Siege guy who also worked on Killzone 2 is directing that game since 2018 according to his linkedIn:Has the second team ever actually been confirmed? I just tend to take it as read, but I'm not sure it's ever been acknowledged anywhere.
Regarding Killzone specifically, I meant that they won't go back to it as their big single player vehicle, as a break from Horizon or whatever. For me they've moved on to something bigger and better and that's that.
Regarding the MP game, I think the latest rumour is actually another Horizon game, but who knows, really.
Why? In which games did he work?Hired 4 months ago
Seems like a pretty big deal for Sony's mobile endeavours
We have zero facts, credible sources or solid clues that could lead us to think it exists.Any idea who's doing the Sly Cooper game?
Yes, I misread it. I originally though you were talking about stuff you thought they were going to reveal in a possible PlayStation Experience. I edited the post when I noticed I was wrong.Think you might have misread my post? I was guessing 2023 releases.... not sure what a Horizon 2 gameplay showing has to do with that...
I agree. The GoT sequel is pretty much confirmed, and if they want to make another project before it I think they'll do a new IP instead of going back to Infamous. With GoT they reached another status and I doubt they'd want to go back. Also, I just can't see Infamous getting a new game. It's not a strong IP and Sucker Punch have just had their first major with Ghost. They're going to be on that for the entire generation, more than likely.
Speak only for yourself about that. I have heard about the project's existence several times over the course of the last year.We have zero facts, credible sources or solid clues that could lead us to think [Sly 5] exists.
They should've gotten RaD
Personally that's the dumbest rumour possible for oculus (I am probably going to be proven wrong lol)There was a rumor floating around about FB selling Oculus to Sony including the studios..... Sanzaru (Last Sly game), RAD (Order) and Beat games.
People were saying FB didn't have a direction for VR and the figure being thrown around was 4.6 Billion.
Updated.

Sounded like baloney but who knows.... way too much for Oculus IMO. Would prefer money like that to go towards a Square acquisition or something akin to that. Maybe buy back Crash and Spyro.... or secure MGS or Castlevania in the medium term for games....
Something like buying MiHoYo would be a great mobile / console move too..... and a better use of cash.
Also...
