As I've never owned a PSP I can't really say... but I think that has been true of every single console or handheld gaming machine released so far.
I look at what SE did with their Dissidia games and what Sony did with some of those GOW games on the PSP... those certainly look better than a lot of the earlier stuff.

Look at WipEout and Gravity Daze. And yes, even Uncharted: GA... now try to imagine the Vita games of 2016 (okay, if the Vita doesn't totally flop and die off by then. But GAFers will see that doesn't happen, right?)

The Vita uses a GPU and CPU very similar to what you find in an iPhone 4S and/or iPad 2. Only those both use dual cores for the CPU/GPU where the Vita uses quad. So in the right hands it should have about twice the potential. And then also consider that iOS software usually has to work on multiple iOS devices that have different hardware (so we get into the whole 'optimization' topic again...)

The one thing which you are missing here is the the Vita has 128MB of dedicated VRAM which gives it a significant advantage over the iPad on top of the doubling of GPU and CPU cores. And then of course, the Vita has less pixels to render.

Have other items sold out of Release Date Delivery before? I am sure they have but I don't recall any specifics..

I am wondering if there is any chance that enough people will cancel or they will get additional stock, and bring it back.
 
Does the 3G model display "No Signal" if you don't get a 3G plan? I only want the 3G model for the GPS and do not plan at all on using the 3G. I don't really want it to say no signal all the time.

It could come back if people cancel, or if Amazon gets more units next week before they ship. I remember i preordered the MGS Collection from them last year where release date delivery was sold out. I ended up getting it on release day anyways.
 
Why oh why did they ditch (a refined) nub for these toddler sized convex analog sticks? The protrusion makes them uncomfortable/unnatural to use, there's way too little resistance and range of movement, and they're so fucking tiny. Circle pad is objectively superior to these, I have no idea how Sony thought this was a good idea. Are there any over sized clip on accessories (like the PS3 triggers)?

Amazon.ca doesn't use packing material. It's just in a folded cardboard thingy.

I usually am not bothered much by inconsistent frame rate but modnation on the vita seemed to constantly run at a less than satisfactory frame rate. Disappointing for sure. Maybe there will be a patch to help.

Also where is my heart mini, does it work on the vita or no?
 
Sorry if asked before, but when I buy a US Vita game, will I be able to play online on the European network or is there some kind of region lock on playing online?
 
does anybody else find it really weak that super stardust launched with trophies revealing upcoming dlc? they obviously have had the dlc ready for ages since the trophies are already in the game.


i suppose this did already come out in japan two months ago though. does anyone know if it launched with the trophies back then?

I wonder how many people are going to just bite for the FEB now that the anticipation levels are near insane high?
 
So I opened my Vita.
I was getting undressed and I couldn't help myself. It was staring at me!
It's heavier than I thought.

I put on the screen protector. I'm not sure if it was super easy (I really suck at these) or if I didn't really put it on. I can't tell.

The system is so glossy. The fingerprints are really bothering me. I might get a Hori protector when that releases.

I also thought that the official one covered the right side of the system. But it turns out that's just a guide to make sure it's straight-ish on the screen. That or, like I mentioned before, I just ended up messing up and not putting the protector on at all.

I really want to turn this on, but I have to let it get to room temperature. And I have to go cook dinner. *whine*
First world problems?

This is a gaming trend I want to die immediately. The only saving grace is super stardust is a really good game at only $10, so maybe this is a way to breakup the cost and make some extra scratch. It is inexcusable though on full retail releases though.

If you go to REGION B store and buy a REGION B DD game...after you change back to your main REGION A account where all your trophies are, is there absolutely no way to play it with that account and earn the trophies on your main account? Can you link your REGION B Vita account to your REGION A PS3 account so your trophies show up on your PS3 REGION A ACCOUNT?

On the PS3 you can build your trophy list using DD games from every region sitting on your hdd. With Vita are you going to have to have two trophy accounts for two regions instead of one unified one?

1) Can you see your vita trophies when you sync them up on your ps3? If so, screenshot?
2) Can you see your ps3 trophies on your vita right now?

I'm lazy and having to go through the reset thing was seeming like a right pain in the arse, plus reseting all your Near data, trophy things was a bit of a pain. Yes, there's no real reason to have two machines, but hell - gives me double battery life as well.

#boggle - hold on, let me think this through. No, when you try and transfer a game that you bought from Region B with your Region B sub account, the transfer isn't possible. The Vita tells you you have to sign in with the machine that matches the account associated with the card. So you are only going to be ever able to earn trophies for each sub level account. You can't like sub level to master level for trophies

yup, i'm going to have two seperate accounts (DCharlieUS is the second one :)) - i don't really care about trophies or achievements any more so it's not really a concern for me. I'm more interested in being able to snag cheaper US games on day of launch via DD than anything :D
 
I've never played a Hot Shots Golf game, but I'm thinking about trying out the Vita version.

The only golf games I've ever liked before were the Mario Golf games, and I also enjoy golfing IRL. Think I'd enjoy this series?

I agree with the whole convex issue (I'm still not sure why Sony is releasing sticks this way) and don't like the range of motion but they are still the best feeling portable analog sticks out there night now. Circle pad feels a helluva lot better than PSP, I'll give you that.
