Has any picked up the cradle? If so, how is it? Does it come with the power cable it needs (is it the same cable that comes with the Vita), or is it some weird bullshit like the PSPgo cradle?

Ordered the Pull N' Go Folio last Saturday and got it in on Tuesday. It was super quick but they do not send you an estimated ship date or notification when the item ships.

Thanks.

I ordered 7:30est last night and the charge is already pending on my credit card. Im assuming they charge when they ship so thats a good sign. In any case, I should have it by the 22nd which is all I wanted.

It was posted up on HUKD and the general consensus was that it's fine - the risk is that, as it's a dude running the business out of a single room, if he goes bust you're screwed. It's based on the Three network, which I hope means good speeds (I get great speeds at work on my iPhone using Three).

I can vouch for the seller in so much as he got the SIM card to me really quick, but as of yet I can't vouch for the service. Thought it worth a go though at that price.

Nice. Might have to get one if they work ok. I've got a Giff Gaff one to try out as well.

I've just finished my Official Thread on the OCUK forums. 4000 words. My arms ache lol.

So what are the chances for a game like Skyrim or Dark Souls on the go? Is that something the Vita could handle? Is that something we want it to handle?

Elder scrolls would be too ambitious, maybe they can port Morrowind though. The Souls game is more likely. I would actually like both tbh.

Demon Souls is Sony's right? I think it would be pretty stupid of Sony not to have it on Vita (its own installment).

I actually do think the Vita could handle a full blown Elder Scrolls game.

With more memory than the PS3 or 360 it's actually well suited to the task.

I'd prefer something like Dark Souls, though, which is very well suited to portable play (and sleep mode).

Want? Sure!
But it has to be a great success to get big Bethesda-Games. Also i think it would be quite a big downgrade graphics-wise.

But I think Demon/Dark Souls would be great on the Vita and the chance is much bigger to get games like this.

Christ. There's no way that's because of the number of players, looks like more of a special effect than lag... :/

Catching up on this thread from yesterday. Wow that FIFA video, yeah it might have some lag or hitching here and there, but it looks incredible! I'm probably gonna have to snag that...

The apparent lag in that Fifa video with the person with purple finger nails is on the VIDEO not on the Vita. If you watch her thumb closely every time the game appears to lag so does her thumb. Vita is powerful, but it can't slow down people :P

You make me sad.

We also don't pay for people to send us text messages. I have no idea if it's still like that in the US.

Seeing as I never had a PSP, I can't wait to work through It's library while I wait for the Vita library to grow.

What's the going price for most Digital PSP games?

They seem to be quite long, although it differs from game to game. Read more here: PS Vita's Load Times Analysed
Sounds like slooow to fill RAM. Still a lot better than this one Wrastle game on PSP, at least ;)

I rarely switch games on PSP until I'm done with them and keep it in sleep mode for days with the game loaded, so my habits protect me from suffering through the to menu load times regularily. Sucks for changing games on a whim.

The Vita isn't the problem, it's Bethesda. Even if they make a console with 8gb of RAM, they'll try to max the console up and ignoring many bugs. They're a very ambitious developer and basically want to use the console's full power. If they would take the time to make a decent ES with almost no bugs, then yeah, it could work.

Pretty expensive to be honest, at least compared to retail games. I want to buy the DJ Max Portable games but they're crazy expensive.

I'm with you. Would love to have an an expansive, open world RPG like Elder Scrolls or Demon Souls on the Vita. That would be a huge draw. Considering there are several out for the iOS devices, it is obviously possible. I'd buy in on day one.

Doesn't the home button pause all games on Vita? I'd take issue with that in a Souls game.

Looking on the PSN store now I'm seeing that most of my favorite PSP games are not even available for purchase. Disappointing.

Why would you take issue with that? For a portable game a pause feature is absolutely necessary regardless of the type of game.

2 questions...

Don't have any psp games downloaded...will the 8gb be fine if I'm buying the retail game?

About loading times...are they any faster from the digital copy?

How are the load times on the PSP games?

I thought I read that the Vita memory sticks were as fast as PSP one? could be false though.

It'll be fine...for now. PSP games can go up to 1.7gb I believe, but a lot of them don't reach that size. I would keep the 8gb card and wait for a price drop on the other cards, it's not like you lose the content you bought since it'll be on your playstation store.

PSP games are faster on the memory stick than on the UMD's, Vita games are faster on the game card than the memory stick

Open world or MMOs on the Vita would be amazing. Seeing how Blizzard is considering a console release of D3, perhaps it will end up on the Vita as well. Sony already showed how easy it was to port MGS4.

I just can't wait to see all the functionality that the community will squeeze into.

Loading times from the actual game card are faster than from the memory stick. The difference in minor but it definitely favors the physical copy of the game.

I always thought you plug the USB cable to the Vita and AC adaptor, then plug the adaptor to an electric outlet.

You do. The USB cable can also be plugged into the Vita and into your PC or Mac or others things.

The AC adapter is just a black box with a USB port on one end and mains juice in the other.

When you see the prices you'll probably change your mind. $30-$40 for a lot of games still, even when you can find UMD copies in bargain bins for $10-$15.

Some games are reasonably priced though, but they seem to be the minority on the service.

So back to the 1st question...no psp games and if I buy the retail copy 8gb should be plenty?

They're all over the place. The Grand Theft Auto games are currently on sale for €7.99 each, other games are ridiculously expensive.

Guess I'll start picking some of the older games.

It still greatly increases the potential library of games. Lame that they are jacking up the prices though.

So back to the 1st question...no psp games and if I buy the retail copy 8gb should be plenty?

I'm buying retail and DD and Have about 6 PSP games. I'm going with a 8gb card + the 4gb card that I will get for free.

hey Kyoufu, if you're still here, can we switch memory cards on the fly or does the Vita restarts if you take the card out?

Don't know if this has been discussed, but I kept wondering about it. So I double dipped, and DL-ed it digitally (Even though I had it on UMD...) And it worked! Brilliant colors! The problem is that the right analog stick for camera works a bit strangely- you've got to hold the Left trigger and then move the right stick to adjust the camera. Still really happy I'll be playing this again! (Edit: In this sense, camera isn't completely altered- before it was L+Analog nub. Feels better with the Right stick, but no on the go moving/ camera switching).

Did you notice any microstutters with the game? I recall hearing about complaints regarding stuttering when driving/moving at high speeds with the digital version.

I've never taken my memory card out so I have no idea.

The thing is so tiny that I'm afraid I'll lose it to a stray wind passing by.

Haha lol, I was going to just use the 4gb card as a PSP storage but you might have a point there, don't want to lose it. What size is yours at ?

just to confirm, the only difference in the 3G hardware is the 3G support (and sim slot), right?

traditionally I always bought the premium sku because of extras, but I really have no use for the 3G. still it's only $20 more than the wi-fi + an 8 gig.
