I've been back and forth so many times on this.

Preordered a launch bundle when it went up (don't need move or camera, but only the bundle was available).

2 weeks ago I decided to cancel. Money is a bit tight due to new car payments, a child, etc. and I'm concerned with the longevity of games available for PSVR.

Today I walked into Best Buy at lunchtime and they had 4 core sets and 2 bundles on the shelf. I picked up a core bundle.

Now tonight I need to have a conversation with my wife before I open it! Definitely saving the receipt.

Canceled my pre-order on Monday. But, GAF hype, and the surprising amount of units available online are sucking me back in. Reading this thread really isn't healthy :(

Glad I went with the standard set instead of the bundle. None of the games I got require or support the Move Controllers. (Rigs, BattleZone, Super Hypercube, Thumper and Rez)

Don't know if this is your issue, but you're supposed to turn on the headset last.

I guess all you can do is re-check all cables - sorry man :(

Rechecked the cables and did everything the way the quick guide described. I actually managed to get the headset to turn on other lights by selecting the "Adjust Tracking Lights" option and got to calibrate a couple of sides before it turned off again. Something is really wrong with my headset.

Hey, we are in the exact same boat. At least we aren't alone, right?

Using the "Adjust Tracking Lights" setting under the VR settings seems to have fixed the tracking issue I was having with Thumper.

wow. dude, you're barely going to get "traditional gaming" running up to par on these rigs anytime soon. i get you are ina honeymoon phase but please...

That's why I said second, third iterations..

I know it's gonna take time but I feel completely immersed in VR, more connected, plugged in and this is hopefully just the beginning.

Don't get me wrong I will still play games in front of a monitor, because people will still make great games that aren't playable in VR, but I can't help but be excited especially for the future. The level of immersion has just blew me away.

Just connected mine and started Thumper. Mind blown. First time I and my gf tries VR.
No issues whatsoever yet. She is trying out playroom now and is having a great time.

Well done Sony, well done <3

I hate USPS, my PSVR is sitting at the post office, but they won't let me get it until they've attempted to deliver it, which they will fail to do, and then theyight hold it or might send it back and to top it off they won't do any of this until tomorrow.

I want to hug you and cry.

I started the PSVR demo disc and managed to get all the lights on, but the screen inside the headset remains completely dead. The tracking actually worked and I could see movement on the TV output :'(

VR Worlds worth $40?

It is true that it's a combination of mini games and short experiences... but almost nothing I have tried so far, comes close to London Heist! It is short but it is exactly what I dreamed of when I was thinking of VR.

I wouldn't have been as satisfied as I am now with my purchase, if I hadn't gotten to play it.

Can anyone explain the 12 year age limit? I have a 6 year old niece who would love this. Would it be okay for short bursts?
I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has used PSVR with their children. I'm thinking of picking it up (again... after cancelling my pre-order), but I'd rather not get it if it'll only be usable by me.

My kids are 10 and 4, but it is really only the 10 year old that I'm concerned about. The 4 year old wouldn't pay attention long enough anyways.

So much more immersive than regular gaming.

I was playing EVE and was having trouble shooting a guy down. I started to get a little angry, but not angry like, "Grrrrr this game is hard" it was angry like, "Grrrrr, this pilot is really good and he's making me look bad."

I was lost in my role play as a pilot for a moment.

Sorry if asked before. I click update to 2.0 then just get a black screen and it switches off. When I turn it back on it just asks for the update again. Anyone have same issue? Am I missing something obvious?

Only played VR Worlds so far but it's just so good, I loved the London Heist. Just the the simple action of picking up a clip in one hand and loading it into the gun on the right was so satisfying. Only thing I wish is that there were just more things to play around with in the environments I spent ages in the pub trying to set things on fire but only the cigar would.

Oh my fucking god! I've finished Batman: Arkham VR and I think this is by far the best VR experience I had until now. The immersion is unbelievable, the graphics are REALLY good and you are batman! yes, really!

It's more like an adventure, but I loved every second of it. There were some really great scenes with shocking moments, some nice riddles and cool, but short, story. It took me 47 minutes to finish the game. But I don't regret a single cent spent on this game.

Everyone who has a PlayStation VR must play this.

Would I be crazy to order a core bundle + camera? It seems like the move stuff is pretty under-developed anyways.

My launch games would be REZ, RIGS and Thumper.

Do we have a list of which games require Move?

How would you say the replayability is? I was looking to just rent it from Gamefly at some point since it's short.

I was in a similar situation but by harnessing the power of being a 33 year old manchild who still gets a budget to work with from Santa, I was able to avert certain divorce.

I also don't get much of a Christmas on Christmas Day but whatever, I'll be living in VRville by then.

I most definately will, but probably not for the current price. 45 minutes is kinda crazy.

I remember in the other thread there was someone who bought some replacement Move batteries from Amazon.
How did that ago to whoever did that?

Did anyone notice stuttering issues in Allumette? Seemed like rotational tracking was perfect but movement tracking was choppy. Also the animated characters had a strange fast-slow-fast-slow like movement. I assume it's to emulate claymation but seems like they should have a slow steady framerate instead.

I'm a Vive owner, not PSVR, but Vive has similar warnings about kids 12 and under and I have usually seen the problems associated with kids and VR fall into one of these three categories.

1) It won't fit them. They may be too small for the headset to sit on their face in the proper place for maximum comfort and visual quality. Make sure the headset is always completely secure, for example, they look down and the headset doesn't appear loose.

2) They may not understand the warnings. This is more of a Vive roomscale thing, but make sure your children understand that they can't simply walk around everywhere and that they need to be careful about hitting things if your space isn't completely clear of other objects. Also smacking the controllers together can be an issue.

3) Their eyes are still developing. I'm trying to find more concrete articles to back this up but this is the main concern. I believe all VR headsets let you adjust the IPD (Interpupillary distance - distance between your pupils) but most of them can't reach the low settings that most children measure at. This could lead to eye strain or weird cross eyed vision when objects get close to the players perspective.

Needless to say, I've still let kids use my Vive. Always monitor it and go over the rules. Ask them if things look weird or if they feel any discomfort once and a while to make sure all is okay.

World War Toons is pretty addicting as well!!! Plus it's FREE!! Loving the art style

My local stores didn't have PSVR units today, so I had to order off Amazon ಠ_ಠ

Why can't I have nice things quickly!

Sorry Gaf couldn't get the headset on launch day, I failed!

Seeing as the rubber part of the headset can easily be taken off to be washed in a sink (there's a new video guide about it), I wonder if Sony could sell extra rubber parts so people who share the headset can swap in their own parts.

No lies detected. Im 20 minutes or so in and am just standing in an alley perfectly satisfied staring at garbage while the rain falls.

First point should be ok with my son, he can wear adult size hats for the most part (adult small at least) so I think I can configure it to fit him.

Second point should be fine for him as well, he's pretty good at understanding what he can and can't do with technology and already has years of experience with all the gadgets we own.

The third point shouldn't be a problem for his eye specifically, but I am worried about motion sickness as he does get car sick sometimes and needs to sleep in the car to avoid feeling ill. That is my biggest concern at the moment.

Saw on Twitter that Tethered is out on the 25th of October. I played it at EGX and it was honestly so fun, I'd encourage everyone to look into that one

Wow! My first VR experience. I've only tinkered with Playroom but I'm blown away. That platformer was great and I hope these little guys become a franchise.
