Same here, just got my headset pre ordered!!!

I got the basic PSVR2 because I’ll just buy Horizon separately

I assume they’ll have more basic units so I’ll more likely get it day 1, that could be a wrong assumption though

Anyone know if you need to pay the total cost up front (if you get selected for the pre-order)?

I signed up and want one day one but if I gotta drop $550 at once, I'll just hold off, not sure if I can comfortably save that much. It's definitely possible though when I factor in my Christmas bonus, etc.

As for the cost itself, I think it's fair. This is a niche market and expensive technology as far as I know. Headset, two controllers, and the headphones seems fair for the price.

If you have a credit card it won’t be charged until it ships

I am holding off until I see that this entire game is VR, and not just limited modes of play.
Thats what is worrying me as well.
Im very sure we are getting a content patch on 4 March(1 year anniversary for GT7) and with that some PSVR2 compatibility.
But if that is the case, that reveal might be very close to March instead.

If it's limited to just a mode then I'll be very disappointed and it will be a HUGE mistake on their part.

Should be one of the easiest flat games to convert to VR too.
Agreed. The data mine leak has a VR Showroom for cars, but I hope it's not just that. Would be a major fail.

Debated it for a little but £530 with no real amazing games at launch was too much of a hard sell.
It's a plunge for sure. Hell, even PSVR is a big investment. Definitely not a must have but it'll give access to some really memorable experiences. I'm looking forward to Village but nothing much else with what will be available at launch. The new Rush of Blood will be fun too but not $550 fun, lol.

Wow, that was easy as pie! Just clicked on the link and it was available to add to the cart with no queueing.

Yeah, I was expecting the site to crash and glitch like when the PS5 pre-order fiasco happened across the internet, this time zero lag/delay and placed everything super fast!

I'm just shocked that there aren't any heavy-hitter surprises with this PSVR2 games library. Everything comes with a caveat. RE8 was expected, Horizon looks like a knockoff. Outside of that, it's just a bunch of mobile games. The tech is great and I'm just surprised this machine doesn't have more ports of full-fledged games when that's what it's designed to do.

This right here is enough for me on launch day!

Do you guys play VR for over 2 hours straight without taking a break? I don't think I've run into that limitation even once, even when playing Alyx every day... I just put it on the charger whenever I'm done or taking a break.

Anyhow, there are plenty of cheap headstraps for the quest that have built-in batteries for doubling your play time, if you need that sort of thing.

It certainly seems odd that we haven't heard anything about Alyx... surely Sony reached out, so there must be a reason it isn't happening.
Original Ps VR I used play for hours Skyrim VR and Astro Bot.

I agree the tech is superb, we need a 40 plus hour game Horizon looks like a tech demo

No mail yet from Sony. Not sure how they're prioritizing these things. Been a customer since the PSP/PS3 days, and on Plus for well over a decade. Also Day 1 buys for PS4 and PS5. You'd think I'd get in an early wave :messenger_sad_relieved:

The Quest 2 has a 2HR battery life.....

Does anyone really stay in a VR session for more than 2 hours?

I mean, that's Zuckerberg's fantasy, but I can't imagine spending that time in a headset.

They read your Gaf posts. 🤭

yeah, right. My GAF posts show I've got a soft spot for Xbox, but I'm never, ever negative about Sony.

…and all of that pales into irrelevance when you consider I've been handing over cash to Sony for 1.5+ decades now.

Back on topic, is there anyone else who pre-registered yesterday that's gotten a preorder link?

Also preordered. But boy, that shop is a mess. Tried over an hour to complete the checkout. I always got a cryptic error message that some items might need to be checked or something (don’t remember the exact phrase).

Turns out their system doesn’t handle common chars well. In my case it was an „ß“ which they don’t liked, although this is quite common in Germany since it’s part of „Straße“ (street). They automatically shortened it with a common abbreviation („str.“)

In the end, the issue was that their credit card system don’t have an issue with special chars so the „ß“ was in the assigned address for the credit card. And that lead to that strange and wrong error message because the addresses didn’t match.

So in case someone else have a similar issue, make sure that the address for the payment method matches 100% with the one of the address in the carts summary.

Yes, I play VR games for longer than 2HRS and its a weird argument considering people argue about Controller battery life constantly.

I love theater mode for watching movies and shows, so a 2HR battery life isn't ideal, at all.

This. It needs to be the full game, not just a mode. I'll be super disappointed.

Yeah, I’d forgotten about VR movies. My bad.

In Italy since Playstation Direct will launch in early 2023, Gamestop got the exclusivity on preorders on both Dualsense Edge and PSVR2...Amazon dropped the ball.
I don't want to preorder in that place :messenger_downcast_sweat: :messenger_tears_of_joy: 👀

That's sort of my point. It's bad when an update is the biggest selling point for some people. NMS gets patched and ported to most anything, so that's a given. It should have worked on psvr2 day 1 anyway.
And this "patch" sort of reminds me of another game. Elite Dangerous on PCVR. Now THAT was incredible in VR, and devs already said it's not coming to PSVR2.

Couldn't you just write "Strasse"?

I get what you are saying, but given the choice and have limited software at launch in Feb 2023 or have a more robust launch line up and having to wait until Nov 2023 I personally don't mind getting it earlier with a limited line up. If people aren't happy with the currently lineup of games at launch then wait until a later date and get it, which doing so will possible save you some money if the price drops. I am still currently using an Oculus CV1 for my VR headset on my PC and I am ready up upgrade to something better, so I have been gripping for the PSVR2 headset for a while! I am sure other devs will patch their games to work with PSVR2 (Beat Saber, Google Tilt Brush, Superhot VR, etc.), it only makes sense that they would do this otherwise they would be leaving a lot of money on the table and if Hello Games can do it with NMS then it should be easily doable for the other devs.
