PlayStation VR2 |OT| I heard it has a single cable. Is this true?

What is currently your most anticipated game?

I'm not saying that's not the case since I don't have the game yet, but I remember I stopped following him because he is way too extreme in some cases. And after watching Jimmy's video, this appears to be the case once again. The game could and should be better from a technical point from what I saw, but calling it a "hot garbage" sounds way too harsh and makes me wonder if he is just doing these types of videos just to get some extra clicks. I absolutely hate this approach.
Same.

Its early access too. Devs didnt hide that aspect.

Its also $20.

That it’s genuinely hard to pick my most anticipated game at the moment is a lovely problem. I’ve put hundreds of hours in on GT7 in my rig, but other than that it’s been a bit droughty for me. Other than the two Resident Evils.

I wish these things were subsidised to $250 just to get headsets on heads and make a big market for bigger budget projects.

Phasmaphobia got an update. Fixes some of the issues that were mentioned in videos.

Phasmophobia Update 1.000.002 | Phasmophobia Hotfix v011.0.1

Changes

  • Lowered the density of fog on PSVR2 to increase visibility
  • Fixed an issue with PS VR2 Foveated Rendering that was causing a ghosting effect on the main menu
  • Fixed an issue on PS5 that caused Tripod T1 to follow the player when dropped.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Doors in VR to no longer shake & play a loud noise when grabbed.
  • Fixed an issue preventing VR players from turning at the same time as moving, when Smooth Turning was switched on.
  • Fixed an issue where VR Players would bounce off of objects when walking in to them.
  • Fixed an issue causing some controller inputs to become unusable when a VR player opens the journal.

Some random dude from Brazil, who got his PS5Pro early, says there is a setting for "Apply VRR to incompatible games"
No idea what it means, probably nothing and I just read something into it... I can not remember that I saw something like this on the base PS5, but I did not use the PSVR2 since a while...

VRR has nothing to do with VR (except the acronym 😅), I think. Please correct me if I'm wrong! VRR stands gor Variable Refresh Rate and it is used for a smoother display and to mitigate stuttering or tearing of the image. I have a VRR capable TV and it is pretty nice to have it, but I don't think it has anything to do with the PSVR 2.

So I borrowed a quest 2 from work and my worst fears were realised and the rest of the family like it, here is my problem, the quest 2 feels awful on your face with the basic strap, assume quest 3 is the same, the graphics are shite (quest 3 is better but still not on par with PS VR2), the sound is shite, forced community shit and built in apps I don't want the child to have access to such as youtube (Quest 2 doesn't seem to want to cast to my QN95A so cannot realistically watch what he's doing on it), and it doesn't have GT7 all key advantages of PS VR2 (Son and wife just want to play beat sabre)

The misses is adamant she doesn't want a cable, is it worth the fight, or should I just get a quest 3. It's not like I don't enjoy GT7 without VR after all.

Does the quest 3 feel better with one of the optional PS VR like headbands?

Absolutely, feels a ton better, and the better straps incorporate extra batteries to double the battery life. I prefer the Quest 3 over PSVR2 (both modded) for comfort.

IMO Quest 2 has shit sound (from what I've read), but Quest 3 made a significant improvement on that, and I prefer my Quest 3 speakers over the PSVR2 buds, so I'd say Quest 3 has better sound than PSVR2.

There's quite a few racers on PCVR you can play, but PSVR2 has some great games - then again so does Quest 3, Triangle Strategy is amazing, and the new Batman is great too.

Edit:

Though I do think upon more reflection you'd be much better off if you could convince them to deal with the cable (I personally played a TON of synth riders and other games and the cable was not the least bit of an issue). The PSVR2 is really awesome, and if you could pick one up from Best Buy or somewhere with a return policy, you could at least try and get them hooked with GT7 and some other games you own and see how it goes. Worse case is you're out the price of 1 or maybe 2 VR games - and no reason you can't enjoy them for a week before returning.

I'd say do that first if you can, to me it sounds like you'll regret having the Quest 3, though personally I think it's a more well rounded device, and the pancake lenses carry a lot of weight when it come to sharing the device too since they don't need you to focus to any sweet spots.

Pretty cool. They added a lot of content since the launch, improved UI and even made it 90hz native. Hopefully they are making some money from the game.

The only thing that bothers me is the PSVR2's version of reprojection is being used. Not a fan. I might go PCVR+PSVR2

It seems reprojection is not great if you're sensitive to it. Have to hope PSVR2 + PS5 Pro fixes via a patch it or buy the Steam / Quest version to play on a PC via the PSVR2 headset without reprojection.

Game is getting incredible reviews, and said to be a bit scary with great atmosphere in VR as well, which you'd expect from a METRO game.

Looks like there is a PSN PSVR2 sale going on right now.

Here they are saying that improvements from the Pro version will be also on PSVR2. There's no mention about frame rate, but if true it would be in any case the first confirmed PSVR2 Pro enhanced game. And that would be another kudos respect count for Hello Games.
Hello Studios are surreal! Their support puts other big studios to the shame. But there are other PSVR2 confirmed titles to support the Pro, like Kayak Mirage and Cyube. Too bad Metro won't support it somehow, it could help make it more future proof in some way.

To think that Behemoth will be hi-res, native 90 frames per second, at ultra settings on PSVR2 with foveated rendering on base PS5... On Pro it would probably reach the max level of detail reachable on high end pc today, which is astonishing. What a waste of potential... We could have had much more with so many hybrid games. PSVR2 is basically the first reason I'm enjoying this gen, and knowing the potential, makes me sad.

So I'm deep in the catacombs in Metro, low on ammo with heightened awareness and out of nowhere a hell hounds leaps out start attacking me, I'm frantically fighting it off as I'm backing into a corner. My dog thought this was the absolute best moment to try to shag my leg. I nearly had a heart attack. Talk about immersion.
