Normally I'm with you, but I got a 9-5 desk job man. I ain't got time to be walking to a traffic circle fountain every time I need to stake my claim again.... Also that dude looks mad, there is no going back now.
 
I really like how Pokemon will show up in the same place for multiple people. I can imagine large groups going on scavenger hunts and place stakes down to mark their findings.
 
It seems like the app doesn't save your settings, so even if you turn music off, every time you sign back in the music is BLARING. A lot of fun in an office setting, for the rare occasion I'm not wearing headphones.

Lol, this sound so cool. Reading that lines : "Small talk and tips on where at the gooood pokemons" xD! Legit pokemaster.

This game might be the best concept for "Augmented reality game". Like i can see this became so much popular. + It's a fun concept and i can see myself saying to friend or people : Hey man, you know i think there is a Magicarp at the Mcdonald.

Or anythings like that that perfectly mix gameplay + real life location lol. Like pokemon is soooo much in our culture, it's just a nice mix!!!


And question, i'm in Canada, can i download the .apk for android and install it. Then i will get future update and all ? Like the cellphone will accept the .apk as the original ?

I already install some .apk ( humble bundle for games ) but was never sure about future update and all.

oh man if i find out that's why my PTC account cannot log in that would be a bummer. But its literally only just outside my building, close enough that the full walking animation happens. I assume I'm ok for now :D

Yeah there's the self-preservation thing, sure. But also it sucks? I mean half the fun of this concept to me is the knowledge that to accomplish anything I come across I have to physically be there, and if I run into a gym claimed by someone else I know they had to physically be there too.

Sort of sucks the joy out of things a bit, no?

I mean it sounds like you just don't get to own that gym. Such is life in the Kanto-dimension.
 
So I'm walking around the neighborhood and I'm standing right on top of some grass flying around but no Pokemon is appearing. Is this part of the server going down over and over or is it just really finicky about where you stand before a Pokemon pops up?

Yeah both times I managed to log in since work I could do almost everything but there were no Pokémon to be found. So it was more just "Go."

I think it's the server. Been happening to me too.
 
Planned on going out and walking around for a few hours today. The servers were fine this morning, so I left and headed out. Got to a gym and beat the leader, then the servers imploded and nothing saved. I kept walking and the app crashed, then when I re-opened it, it wouldn't connect to the server. I kept walking down towards the mall, checking the servers and stuff every few minutes. Nothing, wouldn't connect. I headed home since it wasn't working.

The very fucking instant I get in the door, the servers come back up.

And now they're down again.

This game has it out for me.
 
The biggest church in town is only inhabited by a pathetic koffing. My steel wing aerodactyl will claim the throne once the servers work.
 
Saw an unclaimed gym in my town. Was driving home from work so I drove there, claimed it with a raticate and sped off. As I was pulling away I saw 3 other people all with their phones out walking towards the gym.

There's an unclaimed gym literally across the street from my house and I can't claim it yet because I'm not level 5...

I can see it from my porch! It's some run down bathroom in a tiny park barely anyone knows even exists. But it shall be MINE.

does each pokemon have the same max CP fully upgraded? Or could two ratattas have a different max CP when fully upgraded?
 
Roommate wanted to go for a walk to catch Pokémon. Walked for 15 minutes and nothing 'cause of the servers.

Sometimes she's able to connect when I'm not which makes me sad. :(

I love that people are dictating exercise purely on Pokemon. No one would have predicted this.
 
Went out playing this game and I met up with another group looking to take the same gym. I ended up with it in the end though.

Also, a suspiciously large amount of cars were stopping in front of the gym. How many people are playing this game?
