Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

I'm so tired at work tonight lol. I only slept an hour and a half because the servers came back up when I was going to sleep and we all went out. Good thing about being at work though is I walk and drive a forklift a lot, so I'm working on some eggs.

Gonna hit the local Country Park this morning. A lot of areas within it are Pokestops, and hopefully its "forest" terrain will give me some Pokemon variety.

Welp, experienced the 1hp glitch. Pretty much obliterated a Pokemon at a nearby gym but couldn't take it down past 1hp. Then it eventually just kept crashing every time I would attempt it again. Hope this gets fixed soon as it does take away from the experience. I'll just keep catching and getting stronger in the mean time then.

EDIT: Another interesting glitch... I somehow have a Zubat and I've never seen one, much less try to catch one. Weird.

I'm calling BULLSHIT on 3 paw pad distance pokemon, I just refreshed the game - set the ivysaur to track and literally walked a half mile in every goddamn direction and it never decreased in paw pads.

So my friends didn't take his choosing a team thing too seriously because the game didn't explain what it was. Now that we actually understand we obviously want to all be the same team. Anyone else in the same boat? Any use starting some sort of petition or letting the developers know that there should be a way to change teams at least once even if it's for a small fee?

Anyone in Japan though?
Only the first 3 Pokemon are available because they're not related to any location data. After that, there's nothing anywhere because the Japan map info hasn't been uploaded.
The first day during the first few hours there was some stuff, then they took it down.

Think it's also marked as incompatible for Japan only phones for the moment...?

This page makes me think that it's planned to be implemented at some point:

Thanks! Guess I'll wait then. Wife is upset: "but we invented Pokémon!" haha

Can't wait for the craze to start here. I live across the street from a temple, hoping that'll be a Pokespot or gym :D

A question on XP from pokemon: does it give you the same amount of XP for evolving into an unseen evolution as it does when straight up catching it?

Just started playing today. Does powering up the pokemon before evolving it make it any stronger after evolution? Or should you just evolve it whenever you can? Also does weight/height make a difference?

"As the launch of Pokémon GO has been hit with various server and login issues, when speaking to Business Insider, Niantic Inc. CEO John Hanke has confirmed that the planned launch rollout of Pokémon GO internationally in countries like the United Kingdom and various other countries in Europe has been paused while the issues are resolved. We'll provide more on this when it comes so keep checking back"

It sucks and i know the trick to actually get it now but i can't be bothered messing around with location settings and making a new apple account. Guess i'll just wait, like we do for everything here in UK

Can't really tell, but the game actually 'works' on my Japanese iPhone 6S (I have a US account I use for the random game that doesn't come to Japan). It loads properly, logs me in, I can check my pokedex and whatnot, but the Japan map info doesn't get loaded. I bet I could go with my phone to the US and all would work.

Someone from Niantic actually sent some message to the beta testers a couple days ago saying they'd turn off the Japan map, also. Maybe they haven't turned other countries off but Japan because they're worried about the amount of people that could start playing here compared to other regions? Dunno...

Does anyone have any crazy Pokemon weight/heights?

I have this 1kg Flareon.

Download ingress and check around if you want. I don't know if they added extra locations besides the stuff on ingress, but it might give you an idea.

I assume the real-life Pokemon Center stores are gyms or stops at least, so they probably added those.

So glad I have an Android phone! Been playing in London and Kent since Thursday =D Canterbury is rammed with players.

I wish the pads would orientate towards the direction of the Pokemon at least. Would make sense, right? Like you're tracking it by following its footprints.

Fattest Eevee competition?

Holy shit. Damn.

So do you evolve as soon as possible or are you supposed to raise cp first? Any breakdown of this system?

Was wondering this too. I evolved a 66 rattata and that became a 195 raticate. That has been my only evolution so far.

Edit: evolved a 88 pidgey to see what would happen. Became a 155 pidgeotto, I really have no idea how the system works.
