I went ahead and downloaded the APK since it isn't out in Europe yet. Went for a brief walk outside to test it out. Some connection issues and bugs aside, I managed to salvage quite a lot of Pokeballs (and a few other items) through various "landmarks". I've mostly caught common Pokémon like Rattata and Pidgey, but I did come across a Hypno too which was cool. Funniest encounter so far was when I was sitting on the toilet browsing my Pokémon, items etc. and a Magnemite appeared in the bathroom, I started giggling at the absurdity of the scenario. The game is definitely quite addicting.
Potions and evolving are the only way to heal, AFAIK.

I don't understand why people like this game so much. The stuck-at-the-login-screen-forever minigame is boring as hell and the "reset your password on the Pokemon Trainers Club website because apparently it turns out it really WAS too long the first time and the site just didn't bother to tell you" feature is awful.

there's some jynx, pidgey and drowzee downtown. there's some more water-types by lake shore.

So, uh, was anyone else here given Pikachu as an option for your starter Pokémon in addition to Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle? 'Cause I was, and so I chose Pikachu as my starter, but everyone else is telling me that Pikachu wasn't an option for them... I guess I just got lucky or something? I don't understand! I'm not sure if there's just a random chance of the gaming giving you a Pikachu as a starter, or if it was triggered some other way? I was riding in a car when I was picking my starters, and initially there were only 3 Pokémon around me, but because we were traveling in the car I couldn't stop and select a starter right away, so the three Pokémon kept spawning around me as we drove. Once we stopped I was able to see Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, but a Pikachu was also there, too. Maybe it happens if you ignore the other three and keep traveling until a Pikachu appears? I dunno, but if anyone else has experienced this as well I'd like to know!

You can if you download the apk outside the store. At least on Android.

I hear Pikachu is a hidden starter. You have to walk around and find it before choosing Charmander, Squirtle, or Bulbasaur.

There are two Pokestops within a half hour walk from my house/job, and one gym a little further away. It's like a totally different game.
So, I should restart then before I get any further?
This is from sitting in my office. My guy wanders around and every now and then goes to this corner where I can hit up 3 Pokestops. Don't even need to move.

Aren't there, like, Pokemon stamps and points and stuff you only get with a Pokemon Trainer Club account? I mean, everyone is this goddamned thread was like "sign up with a Pokemon Trainer Club account it's better," I assumed they weren't all talking out of their ass.
Why? You can catch all of the starters in the wild.

I'd imagine that by the point you can link Go with other games, you'll also be able to link your Pokemon account to your google account.
Nothing I know of, unless using a Pokemon Account gives you extra items or something.

Woah, that terrifies me. Currently I am working at a college campus, and there is a gym at a monument right in the middle. I have my CP 263 Raticate protecting it... Coincidence or should I be scared?
I know eh like Alexander Bell invented phone and his Canadian and no phone means no Pokemon go and everyone else is playing but not us Canadians.

Is there a reason some pokemon have blue backgrounds in the pokemon bag screen?
Haven't been able to even accept the terms and conditions when logging in via Pokemon Trainer Club. I'm redirected to this URL: https://club.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-trainer-club/go-settings which alternately gives 502 and 503 errors.
