Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

I fucking love what this game is doing to the public. Reminds of the 90s when I was a kid. People walking around with gameboys playing Pokémon and being social. At my job three of us on the team just hunt for a bit on our down time and we drive to places for lunch go find new Pokémon.
 
My Facebook feed is nothing but Go. Legitmately surprised at the people enjoying the game, most I didn't even know they were Pokemon fans lol Age range I'd say is 24-30 right now that I know.
 
Ideally I wished The Pokémon Company would have teamed up with Google for this because at least that way some landmark would have been more accurate (You can go to a PokeStop on the map but the landmark itself in real life would be gone),the servers would be up (I doubt anything can knock out Google off the grid at this point) and maybe a Google Glass functionality could have been added or considered.

I know. I have mine on. But still. What's the purpose? I'm hoping someone with a technical background on GPS can explain with this app has to be open meanwhile google maps can give directions and even make my phone buzz before a turn comes up.

I've run into probably 40 people in the wild all of them were over the age of 20 for sure.

Google Glass? Talk about wishful thinking.
 
I have a question about transferring Pokemon to the professor.

I've amassed a small army of Doduo and Rattata. Any reason I shouldn't send all but one of each to the professor for candies? And should I keep the higher level or lower level ones? Naturally my instinct tells me to keep the stronger ones but I also heard it's far better to keep and train weaker Pokemon via the gyms. Any input?

I know the project is dead (I was actually looking forward to it) but imagine walking around with a Google Glass like Device for the AR stuff instead of having to stare at your phone all the time.
 
Because I am a noob to the game I have a question (2?) that might be dumb

Does the white pokeball that spins at the top left mean loading?
And if so does that stop Pokemon from appearing?

I saw (and caught) several Pokemon before the sever issue. I am able to get back into the game now but haven't seen anymore wild Pokemon to catch and the white pokeball is constantly in the top corner. The game shows me walking around, but I can't find any Pokemon at all
 
It is infinitely fucking annoying having to keep signing into my Google account through two factor auth before being told that the servers are still fucked. UGH.

I will stick to the wallpaper on Mt phone for the time being but maybe someone can mod the casing on a Pokémon Go Plus Device to represent the Team?
 
its pretty funny to me that the servers are hit the hardest in the middle of the work day. At night when people are off work, everything is fine.

Does anyone work in the USA?

Yeah... As enthusiastic as everyone is now, if these issues aren't cleared soon this could turn out to be a massive disaster. People are spending real money on items that are being wasted because of server issues. That's horrible for customers.

It's a pretty big thing for a lot of companies' employees to go on a walk around lunch time. Some companies even have incentives for it (healthy living bonuses).

When you span four time zones and the fact that lunch can take place usually between 11AM-1PM, you have six hours of peak walking time.
 
Servers still down for anyone else?

Also how are ya'll seeing other people? I was at my workplace with Pokemon GO and only saw my own character avatar.
