Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

I would be cool for parents to be able to pay for 'Pokemon bait' in the future.

Let's say you want to take your kids hiking to get them out of the living room one weekend: Buy $5 pokemon bait and drop it on the map on i.e a hilltop where you are planning to camp. Bait will attract Pokemon for a 24 hour period. Different types of bait will attract different type of Pokemon.

I mean, it could create the same experience as in the promo image:

My nephew went everywhere with my sister yesterday. market, furniture store you name it. Normally he would have just stayed home. It absolutely gets kids out of the house.

Holy shit! I live in a small town in Norway, and they have information on all the local Pokestops. How the hell!? And it's not even out here!

the dev's made a similar game called ingress in partnership with google a while back that encouraged people to add landmarks to the game. Those landmarks became pokestops and gyms.

interesting.

Holy shit

I'm thinking of doing this since Raichu is goat

But i donnow if it will be much harder to find the starter i like later on...

I'm a level 3 trainer with Pokémon in the 30-40cp range, is there any point using dust to upgrade them or should I just wait until I'm a higher level and can catch better Pokémon?

Game is trash. Just lost a 3rd ball because Nintendo is cheap and can't spend to grant good enough servers.

Bad first impression and failed to pull me in.

Goodbye.

Ah, is that why? Well shit, that sucks.

Yeah it's increasingly looking that way.
Seems to be yeah. I've been checking both periodically. Google will almost always log in and unless the game servers are dead it plays fine. Trainer Club seems to fail at log in and never go further.

I don't think you could run out of Pokeballs if you tried, the game gives them for basically everything.

Can confirm that Trainer Club doesn't work right now because I just tried it and the game tries to sign in but 20 seconds later it kicks you to the previous screen were it asked you to sigh in with Google.

This sucks for us Trainer Club players...

My plan is to enjoy playing with Google account now and start over when Trainer Club comes back up.

TPC and Niantic, not Nintendo.

And honestly, I don't think you can pass this off as them being "cheap". The game is absolutely fucking massive, and during these first few days the pounding the servers are taking is intense. A lot of this is realistically inevitable.

I will absolutely blame them for how entirely fuck Trainer Club logins are though, and for how little they seem to be talking.

I found a Bulbasaur on my Camaro hood and someone reported earlier that they found a Squirtle at the river. I kinda wish I'd known about pikachu but rejecting Squirtle would be against my DNA. lol

Dangit my ankle is semi sprained just from running around so much I guess. Probably just a coincidence it happened now more than anything else though, considering I ran regularly before Pokemon Go.

I tried walking today for about 2 hours and it just got worse, I'm calling it quits until my friend brings me my bike from his house.

I haven't started yet and with all those reports of bugs and, well, overpopulated server, I probably just wait until the official German release. But man, I am hyped. A reason to leave my home!

I did not got for an evening walk because the servers are down. This is getting scary.

But I played an hour of tennis today so I'm super tired anyway.

Nope, not giving them a pass. Everyone wants to go, "It's a cultural phenomenon! Stop complaining!" but in reality it's Niantic not being prepared when they should have seen this coming a mile away. Minor hiccups the first few days is excusable, but entire chunks of the day with servers down? There's no excuse for that.

Most of this page are folks recounting going out and catching Pokemon, so apparently some folks are getting through somehow.
Basically I've had 15 minutes of functionality for every 2 hours or whatever spent trying during all of the peak times today (from around 9AM PST onward).
Ah ok. So it makes only that Pokemons grass rustle appear? Thanks
No, the rustling grass in my experience can be anything that's in your nearby window, or nothing. Just a chance for something to spawn.

The "nearby" ones are all definitely individual pokemon that you can track down, sometimes you'll see multiples in the window. 3 footprints means they are far away, maybe 1000 feet, all the way down to 1 which is like within 10 feet of you, and 0 which basically means stand still. If you're trying to hunt a particular one you can pick it from the screen and then see how many footprints it is showing while you try to get closer to it, without opening the nearby menu again.

Any mmo at launch have their servers burn, if you can't understand that then avoid any online gaming in the futur. Not everyone is Blizzard.

Server issues are shitty, but they happen. What isn't really acceptable is the lack of communication.

I advice you to follow their twitter: https://twitter.com/PokemonGoApp/status/751514304365473792

Sure there is. With the launch the number of simultaneous users hitting far, far exceeds what will inevitably be the norm for the app once the traffic begins normalizing in a few days. Likely by a multiplicative factor. It's the same reason EVERY major online launch has hitches. Except this time, due to the massiveness of the mobile market and the widespread appeal, the numbers for the first days are quite possibly looking like a massive leap over even stuff like Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto. It's quite possible we're seeing literally unprecedented activity levels for something even remotely like this. You can't just write a check and cover a scenario like this. Some issues are going to crop up no matter how many servers you have, and you can't build your entire network around launch numbers anyway, because in the end you'll have a collection of servers far exceeding actual usage.

I'm not saying they aren't handling things wrong (again, 30+ hours of downtime for Trainer Club is unacceptable, and they could be talking a LOT more), but I think it's also completely unreasonable to expect no major issues with a launch this big. It's just not possible.

Are there many Pokestops near you?
I have like 5.
When i met that eeve i have like 20 balls. But when i try like a normal throw it doesn't work. So i try to do the spin throw thing. The eeve litterally jump around when i try to spin throw. It repeat untill im out of balls.

My little sister asked me to go catch Pokemon with her. She doesn't even play Pokemon, crazy.

Went for a 30min walk with some incense. Didn't catch anything noteworthy.. did run into an Eevee but the game crashed when I caught it so it didn't register, lost it :I. Game kept freezing up as well. Hope these bugs get fixed sometime soon, actually enjoying this.

Walked to this nearest gym/PokeStop, got a spin and a couple of prestige battles then servers died. Was hoping to get another spin before the storm got to me, but nope. :(

I beat the first Pokemon at the gym a couple times though, battles seem clunky in the lag, and you don't get much xp/prestige for beating Pokemon. :\

found cubone near the mosque in jeddah that's near the US embassy that was targeted few days ago by isis, the officer keep looking to me all the time, manage to catch it,but the game not responding.
the problem is that area there is poke stop,so i always go there to hatch eggs and pick items, and the officer keep looking to me.

lmao

I foresee alot of incidents as a result of this game

This morning I got a Water/Poison mon in the Gowanus (LMAOOOO PERFECT) on the way to the airport and now I'm in Florida and there's no mons.

City v Country is real.

Gym battles with bad servers absolutely suck. I beat the brakes of an Oddish only for his attacks to keep landing cause he had 1hp left. Worst part is they gave me the L and my Pokemon got knocked out. More wasted resources.
