Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Don't think I've ever been more excited to see a fucking Zubat, since I was like 7 years old playing Pokemon Blue. Shit honestly is a pretty novel experience hahaha. But the constant freezing is pissing me off too much. Think I'll wait for stuff to become more stable, because it's pretty frustrating.
I caught a Zubat right outside my home. Pretty awesome.

If they continue to roll out things to do and other gens of Pokemon the app should be fine. Expand on Gyms and Stops, maybe even come up with some new locations like a PokeCenter or Safaris, etc.
Would be cool if it had the depth of the original games but in this crazy real world quasi MMO format. That would be something...

Took my bike on the towpath trail along the canal and river for about 40 miles stopping to catch magicarps so I can make Gyrados. You need like...a lot. It was super fun and got me out of the house and I met about two dozen other people playing the game. I really hope they continue to support this with more features and hopefully add a battle mode where you can fight other people you meet.

Feels bad man..

Wait your pokemon can choose to run off on you?

Just coming on a road trip from St. Louis back to the burgh, and I feel like the Pokemon are region based...like it's kinda odd lol

Yet kinda not fair but I guess maybe that's okay?

I feel like they could've avoided a ton of problems by using Nintendo Account logins instead of PTC. I'm really thinking the weird/stupid Nintendo/Pokemon Company divide needs to end.

Ran out of pokeballs farming magikarp in my canal. So, I guess I'm uh, gonna head over to my nearest couple stops.

So earlier today I walked downtown to find a gym guarded by one Gengar (same team as me) however when I entered the gym it wouldn't give me the option to add a Pokémon, only train? Why? Also as I approached the gym I saw a storm? With lightning surrounding the Gengar/gym what does that mean?

Why the hell isn't there any PTC login news? I haven't been able to use the app at all in well over 40 hours now.

no proof or anything, but im fairly positive they have just disabled PTC accounts for now. probably using the initial issues with it a scape goat to fix the actual Go servers, since they aren't working too great even for google account, although they can still log in.

So drove around town. Got from level 1 to level 4. Will try to conquer the gyms tomorrow. Had a nice haul, including Growlithe CP 112, Horsea CP 79, Golbat CP 24. Still haven't caught a Pidgeot though, lol.

The storm means a rival team is currently battling the gym. That might be why you couldn't add a same-team pokemon at the moment.

Nintendo account logins? What? My only options are PTC and Google.

It's not actually an option, I just mean they should've had them as one. With how important Nintendo Accounts seem to be to Nintendo right now it seems like a big oversight to not use them for such a huge game. Maybe could've helped with the load on the logon servers too?

Yep, I'm willing to call this game a social revolution lol. I've had several different conversations today with complete strangers about this game. Everyone and their mothers are playing it.

As for a real game question however, are you guys just transferring all of your "extra" pokemon? For example, when you have like 10 Weedles.

Not compatible with your device (Sony Z5 Compact.), could it be because not out officially yet in Sweden, even though it shows up on the play store when I go there.?

EDIT:
Nevermind I had not refreshed the TAB, it's NOT available here yet. Still anyone have a z5 compact in US (does it work).

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, I wish Nintendo Accounts were supported, but I'm not surprised. The Pokémon Company does their own thing. Would have been nice if Nintendo pushed, but oh well.

It's stupid that they didn't handle accounts the same way though. You should be able to link BOTH TPC and Google to a single account, not either or. :| Nintendo lets you link your NNID, Google, Twitter, AND Facebook, as well as an Nintendo Account-specific login and all 5 methods can be used by a single account simultaneously.

Ok, so I go to the gym down the street.

The gym leader has a 280CP Golbat. My best character is a 108 Venonat. The gym leader kills my character, I have to use a few potion to restore his health. Because I didn't defeat his pokemon, I gain no experience or anything. All 0 stats after that battle. Do it with a couple other pokemon I have, same results. The only thing I got out of that gym was the loss of a lot of potions.

So, how exactly do I get out ahead of that person or the other people in the area with high CP pokemon? I need to be higher level to get higher CP pokemon, I need experience to get higher levels. And while I'm crawling forward in XP by finding the very few new pokemon in the area, the gym leaders are getting more powerful by holding the gym / fighting / finding new pokemon.

I just don't get it. How am I ever supposed to get ahead in this game? Feels like the people who started earlier have a huge advantage. I'd hate to get in on this game next week, much less next month.

edit: I also used an incense before I headed out and walked for the full half hour. Only got 1 new pokemon. Didn't really notice an increase in any pokemon otherwise though. Still just dealt with a few weedles and ratatas.

Whoa, I just had quite the adventure. I went to a lure down the street from my apartment. I met up with 3 guys from the nearby university's volleyball team. They told me they were about to go to this amazing spot with 3-4 stops on top of each other and set lures, and they invited me to tag along.

What started out as 4 people, grew to 10, then 20, then 50+ people were all hanging out leeching the lures and chatting. We saw Pikachus, Poliwags, a Horsea, and a ton of other stuff. It was an amazing time, lol.

Incredible seeing so many people go nuts when Pikachu popped.

So there's a Pokestop at the fountain by the pool in the middle of my apartment complex. Someone put a Lure module on it earlier, so I decided to walk up there, and I saw no less than 15 people on their phones all there, and probably more down by the pool that I didn't see.

So will they actually add more content to the game? I noticed there were only 133 slots in the Pokedex, no way to battle wild Pokemon or other players (not counting gym battles), and some other things that feel like "basics" of Pokemon that are missing.

still can't log in in USA with pokemon clib account. fuck. I have a s7 edge, att. anybody having same issues ?

Anyone with a PTC account hasn't been able to access Go since 11:00am EST yesterday (Thursday).

I'm not willing to scrap that account or start over with a google account, so I'm just waiting impatiently for them to fix this.

I must live and work in the most joyless, soulless place in the universe. I don't know ANYBODY playing this game, haven't heard anyone IRL talk about it, or seen anyone play it.

I am SO JEALOUS of all of you that get to share this experience with friends, family, and colleagues.

We must secretly work at the same office. This describes my experience perfectly.

You don't necessarily need to be higher level to get a strong enough pokemon to beat it, just based on luck really. I'm level 4 and I got a 180CP Dewgong which I could automatically level up to 220CP.
