Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

The storm means a rival team is currently battling the gym. That might be why you couldn't add a same-team pokemon at the moment.

Ohhhh that explains a lot ... there was this one guy on his phone... haha wow

To be fair the gym is located at the corner of a busy intersection

Yep, I'm willing to call this game a social revolution lol. I've had several different conversations today with complete strangers about this game. Everyone and their mothers are playing it.

As for a real game question however, are you guys just transferring all of your "extra" pokemon? For example, when you have like 10 Weedles.

There's no reason to keep the extra Pokemon. Transfer most of them and keep the one with the highest CP.

So there's 15 or so pokestops near my house around a University, so that's how I'll be spending part of my day tomorrow.

Is the grass just a higher chance of being there or a guarantee? Cause I walked over to one and it didn't seem to pop up anything.

Some decent potion-conserving advice here.
When attacking a Gym you get to pick 6 Pokemon attackers, but often you only need one. Attacking the Gym with your best Pokemon first will beat up your primary pokemon pretty good, and require the usage of more heal potions. To conserve heal potions, I recommend setting up your attack so that the first 5 Pokemon are "Sacrificial" (Duplicates that you are planning to transfer to the Professor), and the last one is your trump card. The little guys will do a good deal of damage (and occasionally even win! Go Little Guys!) before the ringer comes in to clean up, and will save you having to use Heal Potions. The professor gives one candy per Pokemon transferred regardless of what state they are in, so he doesn't care (Probably just going to use them for his sick experiments anyway).

I've been at a gym with a pokemon helping me battle. What causes that?
Trying to take over another color gym? I think that means another player was attacking it at the same time as you!
Is this any good? I've never played Pokemon.

one of my favorites, haven't seen one yet!

So there's a Pokestop at the fountain by the pool in the middle of my apartment complex. Someone put a Lure module on it earlier, so I decided to walk up there, and I saw no less than 15 people on their phones all there, and probably more down by the pool that I didn't see.

So will they actually add more content to the game? I noticed there were only 133 slots in the Pokedex, no way to battle wild Pokemon or other players (not counting gym battles), and some other things that feel like "basics" of Pokemon that are missing.

I am guessing you caught an Eevee, which is why your Pokedex only shows 133 spaces. It will only count up to the highest Pokemon you've found.

Yeah if they really update this game, they'll have the app store on lock. Candy crush and all them are probably freaking, they are done for if PC extends the faetures on this.

Guys I got a psyduck
A fuckin psyduck
Im glad
Also this game is huge as hell all the professionals sports teams i follow tweeted about it, 18 of my froends already have it which is like holy shit, if they do right the PC could end candy crush wkth this game.

Evening walk story time!!! My little brother tagged along this time. A quick look around the area showed I only have one gym left, and it's badly de-prestiged. I rose it up a bit, then went off. We stopped at a nearby park's Pokéstop and found another pair of traveling trainers! They just started, but I told them to join Team Instinct.

More walking, and we found our first Meowth. Then BLASTOISE APPEARED! We traveled across the land, searching far and wide... and then it despawned. God dammit! We picked up a Nidorina consolation prize. Little bro reached level 5, so we booked it to my gym to gain another Yellow member. He tried to battle my Beedrill with an Eevee, but failed to win, so no extra prestige. I sparred again for a minor boost, then headed home.

We're going on vacation for a week on Sunday. Hopefully the Adirondacks have something better than endless Weedle and Pidgey.

You know, they really nailed the release frame for this. The main demographic for this sort of thing is on summer vacation right now. Include ways to monetize and they'll be swimming in gold.

I went to my college campus with my friend because we had nothing better to do and we walked around for about an hour and a half and I scored pretty big.

There was a red gym but I didn't feel like I had anything powerful enough to add to help us hold it.

Caught this as I was leaving the parking lot though.

Best thing I have so far, but I've been waiting to evolve instead of leveling and I think now I should at least have enough for a pidgeot and raticate.

The campus had so many pokestops, like 10 or so on campus, best place I've found so far for hunting.

Hatched the first egg I got on day 1.

It was a caterpie. :( I was hoping for at least a geodude.

The gym I was going to steal right next to my house is now guarded by a Pigeot, a Beedrill, a Clafairy and a Starmie, all 100+, the Starmie is 325...

I uhh... don't think I'll ever own that gym.

They're #1 on the App Store right now. They're monetizing just fine.

I have a 416CP Pidgeot after two days, and I've played for maybe like four hours total. It's not that hard to power up your dudes.

Paging Nintendo: Release a small, cheap, downloadable app thingy for the NX that ties into Pokemon GO, allowing you to explore a house/farm/town that reflects all your progress in the mobile version.

Whats the point of a starter pokemon? My charmander is just useless. CP12!? Whats this guy gonna do for me?

How did you do it? What level are you?

I want to go back out there now that I'm all charged up so bad, but there's a crazy thunderstorm rolling in. Decisions decisions.

Someone yesterday posted a picture of an Exeggutor with something around 1280CP. That's impressive. Plenty of people in this thread have Pokemon in the 5-700 range. All I've been doing is catching shitloads of Pidgeys and transfering them for candies, then powering up the one I decided to keep.

Right now I'm in a hotel room with my phone plugged in, not close enough to any Pokestops or gyms unfortunately but in a position where I don't have to go anywhere and can just let Pokemon appear nearby me every five to ten minutes. Takes a little longer than using incense but still quick enough that I have to question how useful incense really is, and if it is worth buying even for the most impatient players.

I'm level 7.

PTC account, UK. Haven't been able to log on for about a day and a half now, really annoying. Friends with Google accounts have been using it at the pub tonight though, maybe just sacrifice my progress at this point.
