Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Went on a run and managed to hatch a few eggs. Spearow and Jigglypuff of note, as well as catching a Poliwag on the trail. Plus exercise! Run successful.

There's a chance, yeah. Depends when the server went down.

If you didn't catch it and were able to get on shortly after, often the Pokémon is still there.
 
Hatched my first egg (5km) and it was a super common one why don't you love me Pokémon go and where the hell can I find Psyduck! ;_;
 
Last night was a ton of fun. Went walking with a buddy to see if ghost types were at funeral homes, and ended up going to a lure. Met a ton of people and ended up joining a group of 6 that were going on lure hunts. Then ran into a group of 20 at another lure. Our group of 6 kept going, we got tons of stuff and hatched lots of stuff. Got drinks at the seven eleven, then when on a long hunting spree in Golden Gate park until 1:30 in the morning. Got up to lvl 9 and now have a pigeot. Saw tons of people driving around and pausing at pokestops. Everyone giving everyone else tips on where different Pokemon are.

The social aspect off this game is a ton of fun. At least San Francisco has a ton of people playing. About half the people I see on the street are playing.

XL-sized with good amount of CP. Will post image later but will finish this incense first.

You walk around, catch Pokemon and visit spots in the real world to obtain items like eggs, Pokeballs, and potions and such.

You can battle them at gyms in which you can defeat the team there and take it over for your team, or you can train your Pokemon there too.

Eventually we're supposed to get trading and likely battling on a per person basis too.
 
Saw a Pidgeot appear on the radar. Slowly got closer to finding it, but then the servers died for me and it started to downpour. GG, Pokemon Go.

At least the two local gyms have been reclaimed by Yellow!
 
Decided to try to take the gym near my place, managed to dent but not defeat the current owners. Then someone else on my team took it! Then a few minutes later team blue took it BACK. Went outside again to reclaim, but realized halfway through that I don't actually have any pokemon strong enough to hold it. Then someone else started attacking the gym, and then the servers went down, and now I'm all WHAT HAPPENED DID WE WIN OH NO
 
How the fuck are you supposed to level your starter. Such a departure from the games where your starter was just elite from being there day one.

There's no fucking charmanders anywhere.

I think it was silly to make powering up cost candy.

No one with half a brain for efficiency will power up a Pokemon before evolving.
 
Is the game sensitive enough to register walking around, for egg hatching purposes for instance, as only when you are actually walking around? I rode my bicycle around my neighborhood but didn't register any walking on the incubation machine. Can't tell if this is also a server issue or if I actually need to walk around.
 
I manage to get on with my PTC account but it wasn't working right. I had 500 egg slots and I couldn't see my Starter Pokémon or my Trainers info like name and level.
 
Cause for concern? Seems like some dude has managed to perform man-in-the-middle attacks for Pokeman GO (basically he can hack the data traffic):

Pokemon game has no cert pinning (duh) so mitm was easy w/burp, will post some of the fun stuff later
 
Woo! I can log on with my PTC account. I'm level one and don't have my Jolteon but fuck it.

I have the same name for my Google account and PTC account. Can I combine my accounts to just the PTC account?
 
Playing this game as someone living rurally sucks ass.

I had to help a customer catch an Eevee for her while I was working today lol

On my way home I saw a couple playing the game while they were walking around our development.
 
I need to know more about the nearby tab, any good guides so far?

A fucking lapras popped up in my area, 3 feet. Scoured a 3 mile radius for 2 hours not once did it drop to 2 feet and then disappeared.

I live in a fairly rural part of Wales. There are about 22 houses in my village. There's one Pokestation about a ten minute walk away, otherwise I have to make a half an hour drive to see anything.

Half the year I live in Oxford, England, so it's less of a problem but right now this game is essentially unplayable.
 
Went for a walk, only encountered two pokemon at the park despite a lot of grass movement. Decided to buy a lure for $1, 30 minutes later, still nothing. That's pretty bad game design. I live in the second biggest city in Massachusetts

Try Incense over the Lures.

Is there any better way to find out where these things are?

Search for grass movement and look at the "Pokémon nearby" section on the lower right.
 
HOLY FUCK ME AND MY FRIEND JUST FAUGHT A GYM BATTLE AT THE SAME TIME AND WE SAW BOTH OUR POKEMON DOUBLE TEAMING THE GYM ONE. THIS GAME IS SO GOOODDDD!
 
On my Google account I picked team Yellow because all the gyms around me were team red. Now all the gyms around me are yellow from other team yellow people.

Now that I'm basically level one on my main PTC account I'm not sure which Team to pick. I like team Yellow but hate falling in with the crowd. First world problems.
 
My only problem is how all the social aspects of this game happen out of the app, I really wish the other trainers near by showed up on the app and we could battle/trade with the people we were near (like, standing in front of).

Yeah I've been wondering this as well. You can't even buy candy from the store, so evolutions and leveling is just locked behind an arbitrary luck wall.

Hatching egg depend of the distance you walk.

Throw a lure at a pokespot, best way to meet people.
