Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Man... Shit is taking too long to release in the EU. Are there any consequences to downloading the game from another territory on iOS? Like do I have to start over when the game is released here?

so I'm team valor, and I fought against a team valor gym today... Is that supposed to happen? I just wanted to put my pokemon in the gym as a trainer

Playing this game as someone living rurally sucks ass.

Yeah, seriously. I wish they just put some gyms in the middle of nowhere. As it stands the only thing I can do in my neighborhood is walk around aimlessly.

They really need to add a couple things. One is to allow the game to work when it's in the background (so walking around always counts, and get notifications when pokemon are nearby). The other is to let you look around on the map without having to be nearby, and also maybe have pokemon "hot spots" that you can see from a distance too.

You were sparring to raise the gyms level. The higher a gyms level the more Pokemon you can place to guard it.

I'm wanting to go out later and find like two Pokestops near enough each other so I can place a lure on both of them and then sit down and reap the rewards.

I'm assuming that lures "stack" so that if there's overlap between the Pokestops that that won't matter? Will incense further increase the chances of finding Pokemon with lures active?

There is but I don't know what is the cap.

High enough that you can bike at a reasonable pace or run and it will count the distance. Low enough that if you're in a train or a car even going moderately paced, it won't count.

Nooo, almost beat the gym leader but his pokemon surgived with a MM left on his health bar. Revived my pokemon, leveled up as much as I could and tried it one more time. Lost again and his time you couldn't even see his health!

Now the problem is that I'm 3 revives and potions short of reviving my pokemon. Is there really no other way to get those items other than farm for hours and hours?

I would have won as well if I could have another go because I leveled up my best pokemon couple more times.

Anyone know what the speed cap for hatching an egg is? I got a 10km egg and I ain't wasting two or three days on that shit. Can I go longboarding with it?

Omg there was so many pokemon at the mall today. Caught a Pigeotto, Drowsey, Evolved my weedle to a Kakuna and got to lvl 5 and joined Team Valor.

Someone even did the lure module at the clock at the mall didn't see who though.

Do you guys play with the AR camera or just the stock backgrounds? My phone doesn't have a gyroscope so I can't do the AR, but I can't really find a decently priced Android phone that has one.

lol I don't think they can update it in 1 day.

Anywho, some person was nice enough to put down a lure in a park right next to my house and I got an evee!
Time to work 24hrs a day 😎

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the devs already work long hours.

Even if they did I think it's more of a restriction with the app store pushing out updates and getting approval from Apple/Google.

Oddish hype! :)

It's so hot out though... 92 degrees here in South Florida. Almost unbearable.

I live in a town where apparently a memo went out to pick Mystic. There's like two Instinct gyms that appear to be the only places they own for miles (one is right next to me) and the rest is solidly Mystic. I've seen maybe one Valor gym that I didn't capture myself, and it was gone within hours. I honestly think that Valor makes up only 5-10% of the trainers here.

I just captured a Mystic gym earlier, walked off, then five minutes later saw that someone else had reclaimed it for blue already.

I have 2 potions left from just trying to keep control of my neighborhood gym that Instinct keeps invading. A dozen Pokestops have given me nothing but Poke Balls and Razz Berries, no Potions.

This is Poke Hell.

Maybe it's me but I don't hear a beep when a Pokémon appears and Spotify is running in the background. All I can do is either look at the screen all the time or touch my phone constantly in my pocket to feel the vibration.

I picked team blue for the sole reason that the the blue trainer silhouette looked cooler than the others.

It will take some *real* dedication to evolve some of the Pokémons in this game.
Let's assume you get 3 candy with each Picachu you catch. You get one additional for transferring. Meaning you will have to catch at least 13 Picachu to be able to evolve it. It will probably take a couple of weeks.

How the fuck are you supposed to level your starter. Such a departure from the games where your starter was just elite from being there day one.

There's no fucking charmanders anywhere.

I think it was silly to make powering up cost candy.

No one with half a brain for efficiency will power up a Pokemon before evolving.

I've only just started, so why is the last part true? I have Rattata coming out my arse at this point and I feel like I could level my XL Rattata all day before evolving it.

I'm definitely feeling similar here. Mystic seems to be the most chosen by far. At least the two closest gyms are finally under Instinct control so I'll be able to keep a closer eye on them.

So I've only been giving candy to my Pokémon with XL sizes, since that's apparently supposed to be better, but I've evolved, like, four different Pokémon with XL sizes in both weight and height, but so far ALL of them have changed from XL to XS in weight upon evolving. What gives?! Does this always happen? And is the reverse true for XS? Like, does XS weight change to XL when evolving? I don't get it.

If I play with AR on a lot of my catches get ruined cause the game freezes in the AR and the overall just sits there stuck. So I turn it off and haven't had a catching problem since
