I actually ordered the lipstick-size one yesterday and got 1 day free shipping with Prime. Might be Prime Day related? Gonna have to put it to the test another day.
The starters seem to be fairly uncommon to encounter at the very least. However, there's a chance to hatch any of them out of the 2km eggs. However, a lot of the most common Pokemon hatch from these eggs too. I did manage to get a Pikachu through hatching an egg though, so there's a chance.

walk in the direction of the nearest leaves rustling, youll notice the footprints go from 3 to 2 to 1... once its at 1 or 0 footprints... run around frantically in circles! the incense should bring it out...
Once its at 0 footprints tap the Pokemon in the tracker and it should show up near you
The same thing just happened to me. I was so excited and then got an Eevee and had to make sure it was the 10k egg and no another one.
Pretty lame, but I got a good chunk of Eevee candies with it I guess.

Down for me.
I'm wondering the same. Pokemon logic tells me to level them when they're at a lower evolution and then evolve but I just don't know because this game isn't exactly like main line pokemon

It basically force spawns a Pokemon at your location every 5 minutes or so. Doesn't draw nearby Pokemon closer. So far I haven't seen it bring in anything terribly unusual.

Should have been given enough candy to evolve it immediately so that seems okay to me.
I think incense is random stuff. Not guaranteed to be stuff around you. I get things that are not even in my nearby list when I use it.
From what I have heard there isn't any reason to power up then evolve.
The CP level carries (the semi circle around) over to the evolved version so closer to cap the better, but I don't think it's any cheaper to power up the basic than it is the evolved form.
Have people been having trouble with gyms.
It has been super annoying I will battle and then it just lags out and both sides keep attacking with no victory sign and the timer just runs out. I have to restart the game and if I try to engage the gym again it will act like it is starting and say "GO!" and then go back to the gym defenders screen.
I haven't had any other connection issues except for with the gyms.

Almost two hours on my bike and nothing showing up unless I use incense. Am I missing something here? Found a few stops and a gym at least.

Walked all around town and got nothing. Even used a lure at a park and only pidgeys/rattata. :\ Went to attack a gym and servers died mid battle.
At least I got a Rhyhorn from an egg I guess.

There should definitely be some more of a reward to holding a gym or something... Like notification of how many gyms a controlled by your faction in the area...
Theres really not much incentive to controlling a gym. After two hardcore days of playing the charm is wearing off and the only thing that is keeping me going is to capture all 151.

Try Scyther. It's lacks Poison type so should be able to take down Psychics easily. Make sure it has a bug move.
If it's anything like ingress there will be something like that.
Also you get daily rewards for having a gym captured, so there's that.
Accurate. At least the top one. Haven't had the chance to test it out on civilization.

I think the difference is one gives slightly more health at cap and the other gives slightly higher CP. Not sure which is which though.
Ugh. So true. Really hope they fix this. I'd love to catch pokemon wherever I go instead of being stuck to certain areas.
