Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

For the best.

Anyway, how do we individualize pokemon? we can cap at highest trainer level, and the movesets are limited. Is weight and size the only way? I would say the battle system is the weakest point of the game minus-server errors.
You can rename them.

That would be very bad if you could buy candy or stardust.

Also if you go to a Pokestop that is a library when the map changes to night, you can catch a Thesaurus with paper cut and razor page.

For the best.

It is for the best for us but seems like something most companies would try to monetize.

Does incense just not work at all for some of you?
I've tried it twice sitting in my house and gotten 0 hits.

The latest one I used isn't getting me as many as the previous couple did

hey it's really freaking hot out here, haha

Also, there are a fair number of people (even here in this thread) that are sorta doing a decent amount of physical activity for the first time in a long time out there. I want to try and encourage it as much as possible :)
Wait there's no trading? Wtf?
Trading is one of the few features confirmed to be coming, but no not yet.
Pokemania 2.0
I keep thinking about how back when I first got blue in middle school, all I wanted to do when I couldn't be playing it was think about playing it or talk about playing it. And everyone around me was playing it or talking about it too.

20 fucking years later, same feeling, same pokemon. Except today I also burned over 1000 calories and met like 15 complete strangers. what is going on.

Yeah. Between this and Doom. The 90s are clearly back.

You need to walk with incense.

Lol.

Wondering this too, 9/10 Gyms I cannot join. Its so annoying when I see gyma with 6-8 pokemon yet I cannot join one with 1-3
you need to train at the same colour gym as you, 1vs1 and raise prestige points, when your prestige points are high enough, you can fortify it with one of your own pokemon. To a max of 3 pokemon for that gym. You will only be able to put one poke there though,

The day of release I checked in with this game and people were bagging on it really hard.

Some how now it's what everyone is talking about.

So which is it. Good or bad?

Just figured out the incense thing. Your phone has to be set to Network Time (instead of you inputting the time zone yourself) or it screws with the Incense's timing and it doesn't work.

Why don't you try it for yourself? It's free and all it takes is a few steps out the door to try it out.

I think it's a really novel and cool idea, the lures at Pokestops really bring people together in the real world and its a cool experience meeting strangers who are also Pokemon fans.

I do think Nintendo was a little caught off guard at the level of response to this thing and probably should have invested some more resources in features and server capacity. But I'm sure it's coming eventually.

Its good but the server issues, gameplay jank, and lack of clear game mechanics instructions its a lot to deal with at first. I almost dumped it at first.

This is amazing by the way:

I only had one instance of server issues today while on launch day I couldn't play at all. So that's some great improvement, imo. Of the 3 hours I was outside I only had 10 minutes of server issues.

I will say, the bug in gym battles is annoying. I could've taken a gym today. However, I did what people say to do and not tap the screen too much and the bug still occurred. Hopefully that is fixed quickly.

Bad: It has very basic mechanics and gameplay, and servers cut out often.
Good: Lots of pokemon to hunt for and evolve, good rewards for fighting and holding gyms, great stuff to do when you're walking or biking around your town/city.
Personally, I really like it so far. It might get old eventually, but for now it is a really fun game and a great motivation to go outside and get moving more, which is great for people like me who just find no motivation to go outside most days outside of work. It's free, so there's really no reason to pass it up!

It's a bit rough in places (things like having to have the app open at all times are annoying) and light on features, but obviously has enough to it to be pretty addicting. I'm excited to see how it develops over time.

Someone needs to make an update to that pokemon from elementary school to college pokemon comic.

Wish there was a green team.

I'll probably go with Instinct because Zapdos is my favorite of the birds.

Yeah Instinct no.1! I went with them since yellow was my first Pokemon game and zapdos was the legendary I had in the game. A green team would be cool though.

Stupid Goldeen took the raspberry but ran away eventually. I hate that. Waste of a pokemon slot for a lure and wast of pokeballs :/

Do multiple raspberries in a row do anything?

I fought a wild Seaking (138 CP?) And tried the berry. First it took it and the ball kept whiffing, finally got it in a ball and broke out. It wouldn't let me five it another right away, but then I could and a little heart appeared
Perhaps stronger Pokemon need more and there's a heart scaling thing.

Today was awesome. So many new pokemon and the amount of people playing on my campus is staggering. At 10p.m it was amazing to see 15+ people at a pokestop with a lure in an apartment complex next to mine. Craziest social phenomenon I have ever seen.

It's a shame that lures can't been earned freely because I feel like it's the best thing about the game.

My buddy's game froze while picking a team and now it's not asking him and says no team in his character screen. Can he just visit a gym and it will ask again?

Uuuuuggggh got such a bad sunburn playing today.... Remember your sunscreen when you're on the Go, GAF.

This is just shit. The server is down half the time. Or it freezes after I catch something and before I get my EXP. Which has me waste incense/etc.

And every time I restart the App I need to put in my Google login/password?!

And then I come home and have 9 emails from Google warning me about logging in remotely¿

iPhone?

After 9 hours of continuous testing GAF I can confirm the iPhone app for at least performance on my 6s+.....is complete utter shit.

Freezing every two Pokemon, terrible loading on the signs, it's fucking borked for the iPhone.

I went and grabbed my one plus 3......again testing another 6 hours straight riding around on my bike. NOT ONE crash......no issues. I'm so mad that the brand new iPhone I have is basically worthless to me because it's absolutely fucking terrible for Pokemon.

In my college town, I just got freaked out on a nightly run because so many cars were stopping abruptly right next to me only for me to see they were just trying to grab dat pokestop.

Ah okay. Will have to see about that the next time I see a stronger pokemon. thanks

I think I'm done catching common Pokemon. I feel like I'm wasting too many pokeballs on pidgeys and Zubats I just transfer. I have their evolutions and while I need stardust, I think I'll be more selective from now on
