Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Hatched one of my eggs and this cutie pops out.

Really wish it was easier to hatch multiple eggs, maybe more incubators at different levels/finding them at PokeStops or lowering the price of them in the shop. ;-;

Wish there were more starters appearing too. I saw one Squirtle yesterday but it ran off...I've never seen a wild Charmander or Bulbasaur or any of the evos anywhere.

That sucks. I thought it could be chalked up to low level, but by that point you should be seeing better stuff. Time to take a trek.

I am seeing other things on occasion, but its drowned out by a sea of weedle.

Meanwhile my friends down south are talking of magmar and kadabra.

I want some differentiation damnit! Pidgy I use for power leveling, but I want some that aren't the same fodder I keep seeing. Give me Growlithe, Vulpix, starters besides Bulbasaur... Or Magikarp. I'd be interested in Gyarados but I've only caught two Magikarp lol.

Edit: Did run into a random Magmar last night, that was cool. But like my random Dratini from a few nights ago, it feels useless when I can't find any others.

Found a ??? Growlithe just now, but the screen is stuck. Pokeball animation won't play, but the other effects are still active. Is it frozen or can it continue from where it got stuck once the servers are stable?

Yeah I feel like as you get higher in lvls rarer Pokemon should start making appearances. I don't need rats and pidgeys anymore.

How am I supposed to lvl up my vulpix when I never see one again?

I downloaded Pokemon go but don't really understand it and can't see myself playing it to be honest. However, I thought all talk I've seen on the Internet of people walking around in droves was fake. I went to the library in my town and holy fuck! Immediately saw 10 people walking around outside playing Pokemon. Then another ten inside. Then a few more outside where most people don't even walk lol. Strange and also kind of nice!

nigga

you telling me I have to walk IRL to play this fuckin' game???

Pretty late with the attempt at humor. Google searching Pokemon Go has prompted "how to move" for days now (albeit most of those people probably weren't joking).

I sincerely doubt your chain of posts wasn't planned out for laughs, but if you were serious, my apologies, I guess

I love this game mainly because I'm a frequent pedestrian/Walker. It gives me something to do during a commute.

It's normal for me to end up walking about 10 miles in about 2-3 days.

Also, I played this game at night.

If you plan on doing so, consider bringing some form of self defense or deterrent like pepper spray. I carry an EDC knife and a powerful jet stream pepper spray. Also a backup battery pack as well.

Turns out that I have all of this stuff because I go hiking often.

So in this situation, can only one person that group catch that particular Pikachu? Or theoretically could everyone catch it?

I think (mostly?) everyone can catch it because people were saying come over here there's a Pikachu and at least 5 others caught it.

Got a Sandshrew in my 5k egg, found a Dratini on my walk earlier aswell.

Oddly the game is just throwing endless pidgeys and rats at me and i must have had to restart the app about 25 times during an hour and a half walk.

Kind of had a realization about this game, so you are all excited about finding that venosaur or blastoise but in the end it doesn't matter because he probably has a crappy 300 cp. Same with that porygon above, that's nice and all but you aren't going to take any gyms with him at that level. Now you say "well I will just power him up then!" Ok well good luck catching 100 more blastoise to trade for candy to use in conjunction with your stardust.

The biggest Pokemon master is going to be the guy building a beast pidgeot and it always will be. This sucks lol.

I think if Pikachu is in the general area, anyone can catch it. Everyone doesn't see the same identical pokemon, which would mean if one person caught it it would disappear from others' maps.

Could be wrong though, since two friends running the game with me had slightly different pokemon showing up "nearby". We were all able to catch slowpokes at the same spot, however.

My Pidgeot is 500 CP.... everything else 200 CP. lol

I saw a Blastoise earlier but no matter where I went the tracks wouldn't drop from 3. Fuck.

Try harder.

Everyone can see the same pokemon appear but each person has their own instance of it. One person may catch a CP10 pikachu while another will be struggling with a CP100 pikachu, etc.

Is there any way to track a pokemon or is the distance just a big fuck you? I notice it lets me select a nearby pokemon but i dont see any effect after doing so. And do rustling bushes have anything to do with it? Those seem to be completely pointless as walking over them does nothing. I really just dont get the distance stuff. I can tell when something is near or far but I cant use that information for anything at all.

This is why they need to introduce some form of battles with nearby players. To give incentive to having more than a single common pokemon. Soon everyone is going to figure out how shitty that is and then players will start dropping.

The lands shall not go to a God Pidgeot, it will be a
Raticate.

Everyone can, it's not a race.

Hmm, that sounds good. But perhaps the game would be more competitive and realistic if only one person can catch it. You know, like if it was a real Pikachu standing there only one person would be able to catch it before the others.

Sounds like a good way to start a goddamned riot
