I heard evolving pidgeys is a good way to level up quickly. Only 12 candy, they're everywhere, and you get 600xp. That, plus a lucky egg and you'll be shooting up the levels.

Was at the park, and we found a Ninetails spawn. Everybody caught him but me. :(

Also it's hilarious how a lure is like a lure for people more than pokemon. I was at a small park with 3 friends, we drop a lure and there's like a dozen people there within the next half hour.

It should not take that many. As far as pointers go, wait and see if they Pokemon has an attack animation--when the animation triggers the circle will disappear, that's because the Pokemon temporarily gains immunity, and cannot be caught. So try and throw just after an attack animation. Also, hitting the Pokemon at all is better than going for a Great/Nice/Perfect throw, so just focus on that firstly. You can hit it anywhere in the white circle and it counts, the green/yellow/red circle is just for bonus points. Also, I tell everyone to turn AR off when actually throwing. It's a liability and makes Pokemon like Zubat 5-10x harder to catch.
 
This game is nuts. I haven't touched it myself yet, but driving to County Market and I saw a guy standing on corner with his phone out, obviously playing this. And when I was checking out, one of the workers at County Market bagging groceries was talking to someone checking out about the game also. Just nuts.
 
Oh my God this game is everywhere. Even when it's five billion fucking degrees outside everyone is playing it. It's amazing.
 
I found a use for spinning pokeballs.

Wat trying to catch a fearow and the think kept making my pokeballs fling to the side.

Spun the thing and threw a curve ball and was able to nail it in the first shot.

I feel like there should be another way for scrubs to battle.

Incorrect just had an evee with swift give me flareon and one with dig give me vaporean.....it's not the moves

I think Ninendo probably didn't though it was gonna be that popular because the respond after E3 was kinda weak or I should say none existent in gaming communities (ex:what's is that game ? Pass, lol")
Heck I didn't even knew there was a closed beta where you could only pre-order an handy accessory so you could keep your phone in your pocket. Wich kinda show how even big websites didn't cared all too.

Internet and irl proven to gaming communities how much they were wrong to ignore it, kinda magicical phenomon, imo :)

It's completely fucking random.

I've leveled 3 evees that have different levels, different skills, different weights and I got 3 flareons.

So I've been seeing a lot of people asking questions about gyms, so I though I should write a mini guide:
Prestige
Prestige is like health points for you gym, when they get to zero your gym resets and can be claimed by another team. When prestige gets high enough, the level of your gym increase. When your gym level increases, it will take longer to take down.
Defeating enemy gyms
You can use 6 Pokèmon to challenge an enemy gym Defeating enemy pokemon on the gym will lower the prestige of a gym, defeat all defending pokemon will lower prestige by a lot, not quite sure what the exact numbers are.
Once you defeat the gym enough times, the level of the gym will decrease and it will kick the lowest ranking Pokemon, repeat until there are 0 pokemon/0 Prestige left to claim the gym.
Training Friendly gyms
You can only use one pokemon to train on friendly gyms, the more pokemon you defeat the more prestige the gym gets. I've also noticed that using a pokemon with similar CP as the defending pokemon will give a lot more prestige points (about 500).
Adding pokemon to friendly teams
You can only have one pokemon per persom per gym. If you're unable to add a pokèmon to a friendly gym, you need to train the gym until it levels up and gains an empty slot. If you're not able to train the gym, because the defender is too strong you're in bad luck. That's why I always try to keep an empty slot on my gyms for other players!

Potions were already gone.
I use great balls for anything but pigey and ratatta.
No need for me to carry around extra standard balls.
 
How do you use the different attacks in VS mode? My Snorlax's 2nd attack isn't that great, but Earthquake doesn't solve everything!
 
So I spent 4 hours on trails today and I have to say that I'm disappointed with the lack of pokemon in actual nature. Once you get around parking lots and tennis courts they tend to pop up, usually before the pokestop at the various trail entrances. Once you go into the woods of say a half mile trail, the pokemon just stop, until you get out to more of a park location. Never lost cell or gps signal just no pokemon.

I hope they change that up a little. Would have been an awesome place to catch grass/bug/bird Pokémon.
 
me and my friend battled a gym at the same time and gangbanged a fearow but then got pwned by the 1hp glitch :(

the co op is real tho

At least a third of the zillion pidgeys I've caught have had that. It's just it's special move in battle. It's fine, better depending on what you're battling against I'd assume.

It seems like they have intentionally placed pokemon along established map locations such as roads, parks and other populated places to keep people from 1. going into dangerous areas alone and 2. going into peoples private property.

Not fun, but probably a wise choice.
 
How common is Dragonair? Found one when I was running. He's a CP 23 cutie. Surprised I found Dragonair before Dratini.

Also, 5 km egg hatched into Magnemite. Sweet. 10 km is almost done.
