Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

the game is really fun and i like it a lot. but the one percent glitch and the bugs and stuff like that really irritating and can ruin the game if they don't fix it fast. i was trying to take a gym and the one percent glitch would not let me take it. kind of pissing me off

Probably, but what about for those who are going to buy the handheld anyway?

To be honest I don't think they count in grand scheme for this game in particular because they would have used the app and purchased Nintendos hardware regardless. I am 100% certain this game would not have achieved it's current success being regulated to a dedicated handheld.

This game is a problem. went to the mall today and literally everyone had their heads down on their phones playing it. Fad needs to die quickly

It would be better if they were sitting on their asses with their faces in a TV screen or PC monitor? I'd argue your only seeing part of the equation here as in most of the cases I've seen the app has opened up a lot of social opportunities for many.

I'm tired of this game thinking I'm moving around all over the fucking place when I'm standing still. It's preventing me from taking on gyms.

I am in the exact same boat, there is gym by my house and and simply can't take it cause I keep magically walking away from it.

Finally did the training for pokemon gym at gym thing, wish go didnt take such crap pics on my lg g3

I've just started this game today and haven't had a lot of time to play. Are there actual battles in this game, like my pokemon fighting other pokemon?

Can't wait to hit level 9 so I can use Lure, Lucky Egg and Incense all at once for max gains

Me too. I'm level 8 right now so I think I could probably hit 9 tomorrow if I spend a little time. What's the strategy to optimize gains? I have about 25 each of Rattatas, Pidgey, Weedle. Should I keep a few of them to evolve and then transfer the rest of them to get candy?

I wonder what kind of adult Pokemon merch they can make to capitalize on this hype. I mean the original anime is nostalgic, but a pretty childish product. I wonder if they could make an anime that could appeal to young adults as well as kids. I feel like the Pokemon Origins anime got pretty close.

OK so how do I deposit Pokemon into a Gym? Because two blocks away from my house there's a Gym on a corner of a Park. That Gym is being held by Team Blue/Mystic and I'm part of the same Team so when I click on the icon all I can click on is the glove on the bottom right corner (Single Glove Icon not the versus two gloves you get for being an opposite team) to fight the Gym but I see no Option to Deposit a Pokemon.

So I thought maybe I have to "prove my worth" by defeating the Gym first so I take out my Hypno and easily beat the Magmar holding the Gym but I still didn't see any option to Deposit a Pokemon. What gives?

XY&Z is the best pokemons been since ever. The plot is good the animation is godlike.

transferring doesn't benefit from lucky egg since you don't get xp, only candy. do your transfers before popping egg. on egg, evolve as many of those rattatas, pidgey and weedles as you can, especially pidgey who only takes 12 candies to evolve.

Went out with some friends to play Pokemon Go together. We all had a great time for about 4 hours, but none of us caught anything particularly great. The second I got home and sat at my desk, this Pokemon pops up on my radar just 1 unit away, and I sprint outside without shoes onto the street. It was a spectacular way to end the night.

Pokeballs literally become worthless

Thankfully stops eventually switch over to rewarding decent amounts of great balls
That's great and all but I've only played for two days and I can't play anymore because the nearest Pokestop is 15 miles away and I'm not gonna drive 20+ minutes just to sit in front of a visitor's center for an hour so I can play the game again.

It's completely unfair that those that live in a city or within reasonable distance to a Pokestop can play the game forever while those that don't can't play the game at all. This game has a worse "energy" system than any Japanese gacha game in that the main "energy" currency doesn't recharge at all on its own. Even if you got 5 Pokeballs per kilometer or for every three Pokemon you see you get a free ball. Anything. But no, it's nothing unless you live near these landmarks.

It's bullshit.

Used a lure today at a local graveyard. It was funny seeing people too scared to walk in. Meanwhile people were driving in with their cars to to join in. EVERYONE is playing this damn game. Walked with a friend and people driving by would shout "gotta catch em all" and such. One of the people who drove into the graveyard was going around for his kid to catch Pokemon. We had a cool chat about who we caught and stuff. I now have two vaporeon which is kinda annoying. Once of by favorite Pokemon but I didn't need two. I also caught this gem across the street from my house right at the end of the night which was kinda amazing.

*blocked*
I can't even begin to tell of my jealousy

I wanted to mention it again here and I'll be adding it to the OP (by the way check it out! I always add new stuff)

Since you're out walking anyways, there's an app called Walk for a Dog. Basically it logs you walking and donates money to your local shelter. So while you're out and aboit you can also help out some puppers.

Remember if you want me to add anything to the OP I'd be happy to. I took out the indent codes which I think we're affecting it loading on mobile.

i wish there was some easy way to gain stardust...like if you catch 25 Pidgeys you get a Stardust bonus or something
after Levelling Pokes, I feel like I'm running out too fast

Thank you

So had a really good night of hunting. 2 of my co-workers were. Hung out together. When all of a sudden I hear someone shout my name. I turn around and I couldn't believe my eyes. It was a friend I had in high school that I haven't seen in 5 fucking years. We hung out for 5hrs and exchanged info. Thanks Pokemon go.

If a gym is level 7 and there are 7 pokemons and you want to reinforce, what mechanism lets you either take a slot, or expand the level to 8?

Training at a gym of the same colour gives it points to reach a higher level. You can see how many it has and how many it needs to reach the next level when you tap on the gym.

Some questions, and I'm sure someone's asked but this thread is super long.

Are the Pokémon and other attractions you can find global to everyone or are they randomly spawned as you walk around? And are they persistent in that they remain if you walk away and walk back, or do they change every time you walk around?

Also, how much data does this use? I noticed it used 10MB in only a few minutes of using it and I only caught 5 Pokémon.

Well there's already adult size Pokémon apparel. The plush toys sold at Pokémon Centres are already popular with adults. Japan also has things from time to time like miso soup bowls, hanafuda cards, etc.

They just need to expand the range and availability of these things.

The Pokemon are global to everyone although their stats like CP aren't.

They only show up for a minute or so from what I've seen and walking back doesn't make them reappear.

I think you'll tend to see the same Pokemon in the same areas, but it's not a given.
