Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

The other two starters are still somewhere around, right? Just started the game, showed it a coworker and he catched a Bubasaur but I wanted a Squirtle...

Or can I change the Mail somehow when I use a Google Login? Then I would start from the beginning...

All starters are pretty rare but not that hard to get

I've caught several of each starter already

We'll be like the fox and the hound Disney movie. Tears shall be shed.

I can't wait for the SOUTH PARK episode
Oh my god. Chipokomon GO!
The boys run around town trying to find a rare Shoe. Meanwhile Randy wants in and pays real money only to be flabbergasted by the boys knowing how everything works right away.

In the end, the boys find that maybe being stuck glued to your phone isn't great, but it can open up yourself to new experiences.

Kenny dies by going into traffic and getting hit by someone also playing the game. Later someone finds his body while playing.

The Pokemon are global to everyone although their stats like CP aren't.

They only show up for a minute or so from what I've seen and walking back doesn't make them reappear.

I think you'll tend to see the same Pokemon in the same areas, but it's not a given.
Thanks! Actually I caught a Venomoth in the back room at work. I didn't know they could appear inside buildings. How does this work? I'd have thought they only appeared along roads?

This will be really popular and will make a shit ton of money but as a game its really bad. It just so shallow. You dont need your phone as an excuse to go outside.

It will be remembered in some years as a dumb thing you did some summer. Popularity does not equal quality especially in this. Ugh, i regret not wasting my time with something else.
But the main difference between this and the mainline Pokemon series is the combat, and it's not like the combat in the mainline games is something to write home about.

So long as they pump out content at a decent rate, I can see this being popular for quite sometime. There just hasn't been a game that's come out even remotely recently where you could drive around town and lose track trying to count the number of people walking around playing it.

No other game has caused me to go to the park based on the fact that somebody else used a lure there, and run into dozens of other people who did the same exact thing, working together to sniff out nearby Pokemon while old people walk by and wonder why so many grown ass adults are walking around the park staring at their phones.

What makes it shallow as a game? The combat isn't really important. It's a game that gets people outside, exploring new places, and meeting new people. I met a guy who was looking for Snorlax and we just happened to run into one today. Guy was more excited than I've ever been in my whole life. Ran into all kinds of people. I have people running up to me yelling "Are you playing Pokemon Go?!" That's an experience I've never had with another game.

I've said it before - I think Pokemon Go is a very good game, but perhaps requiring a different criteria than most other games.

At the end of the episode butters finally downloads the game and everyone has stopped playing by then.

If you're in the Philly area, there's a great spot to catch Magikarps on Penn's Landing a block north from where South Street ends. They're having this Summerfest thing and there are three stops close to each other with lures on them nonstop. It's really easy to get in range of all three. Plus there's a lot of good food around. Had 2 Magikarp when I went there tonight and now my Gyrados is over 1000 CP.

Guys I want to ask, what are the consequences if I download Pokémon GO by creating another iOS account set in Austraila or New Zealand if I'm in Mexico were the app hasn't launched yet??? I REALLY want to play this :C

There's this historic farm kinda by where I live and it's a goldmine for everything. There's 4 Pokestops right next to each other, so people will just have lure modules going literally all day. It's so nice just chilling somewhere while the Pokemon flood through. Caught like 4 Pikachus there lol

Also, a Poliwhirl showed up and everyone in the area literally all scattered to try and find it. It was eventually found and the people who found it started screaming to let everyone know where it was lol

This game is a hoot.

I have some newbie questions if anyone could please fill me in.

- I have times when the screen becomes unresponsive but the game appears to still be running, meaning my avatar is still walking about but I can't move the camera or have anything respond to taps. When this happens, will it eventually fix itself by continuing to walk or do I need to restart the app every time?

- Does power save mode actually work when you put it upside down? I mean, do you get notifications when a pokemon appears?

- How worthwhile are eggs? I just started incubating one, are the pokemon they produce random or are some better than others?

- Is it better to evolve fully then level up CP or the other way around?

edit: oh, and how do you get great balls?

What does the meter in the background of a pokemon's page mean? The one that is like a rainbow shape. Thanks.

I believe it represents the CP cap for that pokemon. The closer to the right the meter is, the closer to the cap you are.

Not sure how the caps themselves work, though. I know they go up as you level up, but I don't know if that's retroactive to pokemon you've already caught or if it only applies to ones you catch after levelling up.

Dunno the first one

Power save mode does work, yes

Here's what you can get from the eggs: http://serebii.net/pokemongo/eggs.shtml

It doesn't really matter if you evolve first or not, the CP is capped to your trainer level regardless

Guys do I max my XS pokemon? I'm weary.

No one knows. I think the consensus from people who have actually looked into it is that XS and XL Pokemon don't have any obvious correlation with attack speed, CP, or health. It might involve some hidden variables, but nothing anyone knows about in-depth yet.

I have lived in my city for 24 years, ive walked by these areas countless times but I never really gave a second thought to all the monuments, murals, memorials around until Go. I'm actually learning more about my city due to this game. I'm gladim getting to experience it

Your phone will explode.

But really you'd just be contributing to already overworked servers making it even harder for those in the released territories to play the game effectively. You'll be directly responsible for a few lost pokemon and 1hp glitches. But nothing will happen to you.

Just got back from the park at this time and there were at least 100 people playing haha. There were a few trolls shouting a rare pokemon, causing everyone to flock to that location to find nothing. Someone seriously gonna hurt themselves with the trolling. I'm just waiting for the news headlines.

Cp cap? That sucks. I thought they would be unlimited given resources. Yeah I am now wondering if it's best to level up a lower evolution before evolving to max the cp cap of the higher evolution?

The GPS is a bit wonky when you're inside so your location will move around a bit so I think that's why they appear in buildings.

As your player level increases, the CP cap also increases.

I believe - and this is just my personal conclusion - that it doesn't matter whether you level before or after evolution.

Man, it must suck to have server issues and not be able to play the game.

Puerto Rico servers went up for a moment, saw a pidgeot near my house, threw around 15 poke balls, last one got him, game froze :) and now severs are down on Puerto Rico again

Also can someone give me a tip on how to throw pokeballs... When I throw they usually curve :( and I'm not even a baseball pitcher
