Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

So far. ;-;

I feel like they have to be common around here too because I see a lot at the gyms but I've had the worst luck.

I couldn't find any for awhile and then they were everywhere. maybe they start to come up t a certain level? I feel like my luck started at 8

I don't know if it's just my area, or if it's just Canada being shit out of luck with Pokes

but walk like 8km out from my house in two directions, and could only find Pidgeys, Rattatas and Drowzees. the occasional Zubat and Spearow, but nothing really nice.
=/

I feel only shame and regret after playing this game

Is there a way to change your team? I rolled a dice and got team mystic but I feel bad that there's hardly anyone in team instinct

I also chose team instinct and initially I wasn't seeing them anywhere. But I spread the word around the neighborhood when people were still under level 5 to choose instinct and now we have taken over 3 gyms in the area. I still rarely see instinct elsewhere.

I'm at level 14. :(

I think it's because Jolteon is my ultimate fave.

Hell I'm typing this post under an Eevee themed blanket.

Find a lure. They are great for meeting other people too. They seem to spawn better pokemon. Found most of my best ones by lures. If nothing else you get the xp from tons of commons.

Finally back home. Walked all around town then circled back to the nearby university, and sure enough it was just as packed as yesterday with lure modules and people walking around catching Pokemon.

Me and a few others managed to catch a Cubone. :D Then I set at a lure camp and got to level 15. 1100 Flareon and 900 Golbat now.

I also had my first creepy adventure. A Bulbsaur popped and it happened to be inside a nearby nursing home neighborhood. There were a few employees there smoking and chatting and I was walking around like an idiot looking for Bulbasaur. They got super creeped out when I was making my exit back to the streets. Told them I was just hunting Pokemon and they asked me all these questions about the game, lol.

i wish i had a pokestop at least within 2km of my house. theres like 2 in a 5km radius of my place, and they're both basically at the 5km mark

How much money have you guys spent so far?

I haven't spent anything yet, but tempted to buy pokeballs.

none so far. i have a ridiculous amount of pokeballs though. i will definitely buy some Lure Modules. theres a couple bars downtown that are Stops. gonna throw out a module this weekend, see what happens.

So...story time.

I dont play pokemon, the only pokemon game I played was Sapphire and while I did enjoy it very much when i was younger. I never like the 3DS pokemon games when I tried them.

I decided to try the app on a whim, and had some enjoyment out of it.

Today I found out that my job is listed as a pokestop, in a long line of pokestops going up and down the block. thats cool I could get some free items whenever I have free time. However the nature of my job is very busy, so I dont have much free time. I managed to swipe some free items only twice within 9 hours.

I work as a chef in an traditional fine dining Italian restaurant, our specialty is my handmade Neapolitan style Pizzas. Sunday lunches are pretty slow so when I had some free time I decided to try an Incense while sitting out front and met a couple people who came by to use the pokestop while I was on my break. I was amazed at how many people walked by using the app, stop in front of the restaurant and then walk away.

After catching about 10 pokemon, I decided to try an expirement, since I see no lures at any of the pokestops on my block and set up a lure for my pokestop, and went back to work.

10 minutes later, Im getting ticket after ticket order after order for pizza and appetizers, the bar is suddenly full and Im seeing row upon row of cell phones with pokemon go.

I dont even have time to take a picture since the orders keep coming in and by the time the lure is done, I've sold out of all my pizza dough for the day and foccacia bread(which is 23 full sized pizzas) and the bar is still filled with people mingling and buying drinks. I spent the rest of the night making extra dough, bread and pasta just to make up for selling out.

Thanks Pokemon Go! I gotta do it again next time it's slow.

That feeling when you know you can never hold down a gym because everyone else is packing 800+ CP heat and the most you have to offer are 500 CP chumps, and you can never catch up because they're always one step ahead

Fuck, is this how Ash felt?

Drove through a cemetery with 10 PokeStops and two gyms around 10pm with my wife. There were four cars parked along the path near the gym in the back of the graveyard with a small crowd of people congregating outside their cars. One of the stops was incensed, but there wasn't much Pokemon activity.

Went out with some friends to play Pokemon Go together. We all had a great time for about 4 hours, but none of us caught anything particularly great. The second I got home and sat at my desk, this Pokemon pops up on my radar just 1 unit away, and I sprint outside without shoes onto the street. It was a spectacular way to end the night.
holy shit im jealous as fuck

I'm so sore. Work is gonna be awful tomorrow.

There are Reds and there are Rivals and they're starting to become really well defined around here.

This is amazing. Good on you! Might be worth it to spend a few dollars in cash on extra lures just in case!

The thirst is real.

Save up all your evolutions until you almost have an Egg or two hatched. Go out to somewhere with a decent amount of activity, use a Lucky Egg, and then evolve your Pokemon, hatch your Eggs, and try to catch some new things. I gained five or six levels in around an hour doing that. :P

Or just have fun playing the game without thinking of dumb ways to get overpowered. I swear I did it just to hold down the gym at the Starbucks across the road.

How much mobile data does this game use? I'm on a 1GB plan, since I barely use any 3G while I'm out, and I'm afraid it will drain in a day if I'm playing this...

You in studio city? I've had some amazing/crazy in person encounters

Great place to live if you're into this game

Downey. Not the greatest place for it but I live next to a stripmall with 3 gyms and 6 stops. Fierce competition. This morning I woke up at 8 am to take a gym only to have it taken back instantly. I was the guy and when he left i took it back again but only managed to keep it for about two hours.

Brehs

Went from Level 8 to 11. Wanna get to 12 so bad for the great balls.

Then imma try to cop a Dragonite. Which btw where the fuck are they at?

Also whats the best way to use a lucky egg? Imo it's during a lure and then at the end make sure you have enough pokemon lined up and evolve them like crazy, especially if they're first time evolutions.

Japanese servers apparently went live for like two hours and have gone offline again. Not even every prefecture went online. I have no idea what's going on.
