Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

That suntan lotion is so accurate. I only ever needed it at the beach or when hiking in the mountains but I started noticing I've been getting tanlines because of how often I'm out due to Pokemon Go.

Yeah, a friend of mine was burned a bit after a whole day of wandering around :D

I can't state enough how stupid it is that the game doesn't explain what picking a team is all about.

Once you've played for a few days and caught a lot of pokemon you soon realise that pretty much the whole point of the game is taking over gyms for your colour and earning poke coins.

We are a big group of friends that can go to walks together and catch pokemon together and take over gyms togeth-

Wait a minute! We all picked different teams because the game did not make it clear what it was for! We had no time to discuss it! So now playing the game together is weird as when we get to a gym we cannot team up against it. They really need to give us a chance to change our teams. Luckily somehow my brother and I picked the same team at least.

Does anyone know if the game works on an Xperia Z?

I have it working on my Z3 but my wife is using my old Xperia Z (due to her phone being stolen) and she just tried to download the game but apparently it says it isnt compatible (she is at work so i cant check myself).

Worked for me using my current and older phone.
I can transfer multiple pokemon at once, but can't exploit it by transferring the same pokemon for 2 candies (it will say an error occurred). I can mess with menus on one phone and catch with the other.
Not sure why they let you sign into multiple phones at once. I haven't tested it yet, but it seems like someone might be able to catch more and faster if they share an account and travel to different areas.
Thank you for the reply!

Downloaded it yesterday in the UK. Haven't really played a Pokemon game since Gold, but I'm back in with this... Caught some Pidgey's and Weedle's just sat in the house. When do you start battling Pokemon or other people? I'm at level 3 but am just throwing balls at rodents, there's not much to it at the moment.

When you hit level 5 you can start getting into gym battles.

I'd say chances are very high that you can change teams and your avatar in the future for pokecoins. might take a while, though.

Do you guys know about this?

How do I do that? I'm in China. Maybe I can get around this by downloading some other city's maps and use that instead.

Downloading offline maps of your city supposedly gives better battery life and lower data consumption.

It definitely at least decreases load times. I haven't played long enough since I did it to compare battery time but I could definitely notice a difference when loading the game initially.

Not sure how it works on Android but definitely fake on iOS. It uses Google Maps API. Sure. A lot of apps do. But all of them have to download map data individually because one app can't access data from another app.

search for a city, confirm, then touch the lower part of the screen with the name of the location and you will see the "download" option together with other 2

So that 1hp glitch... is it possible that it has anything to do with the pokemon coming back at 1hp when it's killed? Probably not but just a thought. Why does it come back on 1hp anyway? I'd rather it came back dead as I have more revives than potions.

Incense just nabbed me a CP200 Eevee and a 150 Drowzee (as well as a couple of Caterpies and Fearows, and the usual Weedles/Rattatas/Pidgeys).

I'm lucky that my work overlaps with 2/3 regular spawns, so I think that helps when you use the incense? I was getting swarmed anyhow.

is candy the only way to make your pokemon stronger?
doesn't that mean you can level up the common one like weedle, pidgey etc. the easiest?

There's a meter above your pokemon that corresponds to how high you can boost their CP. As far as I've read Pokemon you catch have a range based on RNG and your level to determine the range their CP extends. So something like Eevee can have a CP as low as 10, or as high as say 300 (I caught a 247 earlier), where as Weedle can only go from 10 to 100. That's not even factoring in that we don't know how evolutions actually affect stats. It seems to be all over the place, but there is a running idea that the higher the CP is of a Pokemon when you evolve it, the higher potential CP it has in its next form. As in, you're more likely to get a Vaporeon that can crack 1000cp if the Eevee it evolves from is at 300 than if it's at 60.

There's also the issue of cost-effectiveness. It costs 200-1000 Stardust to boost a Pokemon, and when you boost something like a Flareon or Hypno, it costs 800 and a Candy, and gives you 15-30 CP per boost. Compare that to Weedle, who costs 200 and a Candy and averages 1-5 CP.

Downloaded the map of my city and Poke Stops are definitely loaded faster, even performance seems generally better, it got pretty bad sometimes. Can't say if plan or battery are affected yet.

Oh my, oh my.
My workplace has a statue right outside which is a pokestop. Within range for the whole day so I can just sit here and every ~5 min I open the app and get the pokestop items.

Gonna give this a try
Again, not true on iOS. I don't know if Google Maps API share a common cache between apps on Android, if someone knows, they can easily prove or disprove this.

But since it explicitly also mentions iOS, best not to spread lies like that?

I choose team Yellow because it's clearly the best.

But it's also clearly fucking useless.

Red and blue gyms as far as the eye can see.

I'm pretty much the same way. I'm pretty sure I'm the only Yellow in a thirty mile radius. There's two other Red trainers I've noticed at gyms, and while I've never communicated with them, we seem to have a truce of of sorts while we focus on those Mystic bastards spamming their Vaporeons all over the place, there's at least seven-eight of them.

I'd be curious to know what global membership of each team is.
