I have an Android, but I haven't downloaded the apk yet, because I'm not sure wether I'll have to start over once it releases in Europe, too and I re-download the app?
A mate of mine with an iPhone is asking if this is a viable way to download Go onto his phone. I have no idea what this site is. Anyone?

I'd be cautious of anything that's not the App Store. That looks like a piracy site.
Just get him to make a US appstore account, it's 10x times safer anyway
iPhone shouldn't allow installing apps from outside the apple app store unless it is jailbroken. And i would suggest not installing apps from random sites even if it is jailbroken.
Tell him to make a US account, there are quite a few guides on that. (there is no need for a US credit card)
I think some of these sites use rogue enterprise certificates. But you're up for many of the same security vulnerabilities as jailbreak sources going that route.

Go to a college campus.
Look at the ingress map for your area. Portals are gyms/pokestops.

Google. Servers are more reliable.
I only think pokemon account is necessary if you plan to change from android to iphone in the future.
I have chosen the google account as it is a one-click procedure and then you are good to go.

Looks like you cannot beat a gym when someone else is training it. 2 dudes added their pokemon while on my fone showed it only had 1. Looks like the cache data puts same faction befre others

Google account also works if you plan on changing to another eco system. I'm using both an iPad Pro and LG G3 with the same account.

I went walking around the university 10pm at night, saw atleast 5 other groups of people walking around with their phones out talking about pokemon.
Went to the lake, there was a lure spot, and completely packed with cars. Went near the river, and saw people catching pokemon. He saw me on my phone and waved and pointed at his phone, i waved back.
what a time to be alive.

Just watched some Team Mystic guy stomp all the gyms in the surrounding area. It's exciting to see someone challenging an area, with the smoke and sparks etc. and then eagerly awaiting the outcome.
Might drop a few of my 'mons in there a bit later if we're still holding the spots.

I don't think they faint when you're fighting a gym controlled by your team. They will if you're fighting a gym controlled by a rival team.

I fear for what will happen when I no longer work on top of a Pokestop (in a few weeks when we move).
I went through 150 Pokeballs over the weekend, and am just now starting to replenish my reserves.

I'm not feeling this for long term honestly.....gyms only for battling is kind of lame and catching the same pokemon over and over is such a drag....I want to fight shit damn it.
My pokeballs at this point are saved mostly for rares, pidgeys, weedle, caterpies for easy xp evolves, everything else isn't worth my time.
By the end of this week I will probably just go play the original red, blue or yellow because thats what this game makes me want to do lol. Will all be dtermined after I get my phone mount for my bike tomorrow
I really wish we were able to fight pokemon for candy pieces or something. Catching pokemon gives 3 candy while fighting gives candy pieces that can be mashed together for Candy.

The recent IOS reviews for Ingress complain Niantic are using the same servers, and so the launch of Pokeon Go has screwed them up.

This is amazing... I can't wait until it is available where I am to see the same thing happening.
It's getting popular enough that people are trying to find ways to get it early and overload the servers... which sucks because it is pushing out the release for the rest of us... but it is still amazing at the same time.

PvP is cool......but I really don't wish to womp the 13 year old down the street or make an 8 year old cry lol
