Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Well at least now it makes sense why the person refuses to move, or only moves two steps then back, its because Im in the house :-) once I go outside and start walking I can catch some of these pokemon that are a little far away, I can see them but cant catch em because they are considered "Too far away" I live near a mall and a park so both work perfectly..but I also figured that when I go for a daily walk for exercise I Can find some pokemon that way too
Yep, just bring your phone with you and see what you can find! If you wind up like a lot of us, you may find yourself wanting more and more excuses to go out... just keep an eye on your battery. :)

Finally went to my local gym (a church) and chose Blue. Gym is owned by a red. Who's Pokemon thrashed mine.

Is it worth going to an opposing gym if you don't have a Pokemon to rival one at the gym?

If there's only a single Pokémon at the gym, sure. You get to bring a party of six, so you might be able to take it down, especially if you have a type advantage. If you do that, remember to immediately get the coin reward by tapping to shield icon on the shop screen before someone takes the gym back.

No. If you can't beat the gym you should just level up some Pokemon until you can. Even if you somehow piled a bunch of weak Pokemon in and beat the gym you'd be leaving a Pokemon that would get beaten quickly and the gym would get retaken.

But even for that brief period, you're eligible to cash out the coins, so I think it's worth it.

Bring potions. You can attack with a team of six. I recommend you attack with weak ones first then save your stronger ones for last. You can keep attacking for as long as you want regardless of winning of losing. The goal is to reduce the prestige of the gym to 0 to claim it. Watch out for the 1hp bug.

Can you use potions mid fight?

she didn't seem impressed. :/

Is it too low?

I'll try this. Sounds legit enough to work. :D

So.....how exactly are we gonna be reimbursed for spending money on items and pokeballs that end up being consumed by server errors and not actually working? The quality of this game right now is dangerously unstable for it to be accepting money.

This happened to me too just now. Went to buy coins and i never got them.

Yep. Don't use any consumables until things smooth out. I think server errors have reared up in subtle ways too, like no pokemon showing at all for lengths of time.

The SnapChat story for PokeGo is awesome. Pokemania is real! Science is so amazing!
Man. Thank you for this, I went back and watched it

"Damnit I was looking for Squirtle and just found... a turtle" *pans to actual big-ass turtle in the wilderness*

So, I took over a gym today. Kicked a Flareon's butt with my Vaporeon. Afterwards, it wouldn't let me put my Vaporeon in as the gym leader. What's up with that?

anyone else reminded of the tale of a girl named denko? Just me?

yep

Also: please don't be like that. Don't call girls grills- hell, girls post on NeoGAF, a novel idea.
Also don't lie to make friends, especially when you have to make a bunch of lies that will be instantly disproven if someone sees you ever again.

I'm quitting for the night. Literally every single time I throw a Pokeball it freezes, and I never get the Pokémon. And of course it's gone when I restart the app.

Just lost an Ivysaur. Over this shit for tonight.

Yeah. Wanted to buy coins, but shop didn't open. Then servers fell for already 4 hours long.

Can someone do me a breakdown on how to properly track a pokemon using the footprints? Like what to look for you're going in the right/wrong direction and all that.

Cheers

I believe it means you caught it within the last 24 hours.

It means heesa newbie

(caught within the last X hours. 24?)

Bet it was hurtin. Pokeymans need to be fully healthed to gets put in gyms.

Thanks.

Has Niantic addressed server issues at all? Not fixing them, but like even acknowledging that the servers are on fire. I really want to buckle down and farm the shit out of some lure and incense with lucky eggs but the app crashing every time I try to catch a pokemon would kind of mess that strategy up.

Went to a local historical park that had a lot of trails and it was loaded with pokestops and multiple gyms... but I guess the GPS was hardly working for me at all due to all of the trees around so I couldn't catch much or get half of the pokestops to work. Oh well. Still managed to catch a handful of pokemon in the clear area of the park where the GPS seemed to be working.

I also have yet to get anything from pokestops other than pokeballs but maybe that has to do with my low level.

I scream internally when I try and catch a Pokemon or interact with a pokestop, only for the dreaded spinning pokeball of death to appear in the top left corner of the screen.

Adds a whole extra level of frustration to pokemon hunting.

Just took down a level 5 or 6 gym solo...dealt with only 1 1hp bug through it all... I was on the final battle of the final level of the gym to clear it out....... And the mfn servers go down. So freaking pissed. Im so fed up with this game. between the barebones gameplay, the bugs, server issues, and now privacy concerns im ready to call it quits... Maybe go buy 3ds and play the real games....

Keep walking in one direction.

If the footprints increase/Pokémon disappears, turn back.

If you go too far the other way and the same thing happens, they are probably to either side of you.

Choose one side and do the same thing again

Pulled up to a gym with my friend in his car and there were 2 mid guys in their mid 20s sitting on the bench, they knew we came for their spots haha. Love these encounters with people.

Asking for the new day: anyone in Asia got working Pokestops yet? They were up briefly (<1 hour) yesterday in Taiwan, then went down again.

Why did I walk half a mile to collect three Pokeballs and a Revive? I work on top of a Pokestop. I can farm items for days. I have no more backpack space.

What is this game doing to me

oops missed the new page
