Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

I got a little taste of Pokemon go yesterday, why can't I get a little more. Give us servers damn it

All incense and lure modules do is attract Doduos, pidgeys and rattata.

After catching seven pidgeys and eight rattatas during a full 30 minute lure session I'm convinced they only draw out the most common of pokemon. Makes sense I guess, wouldn't want a big group of people gathered around a pokestop to all catch a 900CP Dratini

I don't know what I did, but Eevees seem to hate me in this game. No matter what I do, I can never get close to one. Sometimes they even teleport away from me, going from 2 steps to vanishing completely. I just want a jolteon or a flareon :(

This game would be amazing if it just worked consistently.

Sitting by a gym and being unable to do anything because the servers keep going on and off just kills my desire to play

UK here, every time I launch the game there's not a single Pokémon near me, I see stations and gyms but no mons. Is this normal? The first time I launched it there were tons.

Awwww, it's pouring here and I was hoping different pokemon came out in the rain, but still bugs, rats, and birds. They need to link pokemon go to a weather app.

Flareon is a beast! I evolved a 268 CP eevee and I got a Flareon at 678 CP then I powered it up to 867 CP. He easily became the strongest Pokémon on my team.

Fucking power house.

504 CP Dodrio pops up......I use 4 raspberries because I was nervous it would run and I threw about 10 NICE curveballs at it and it wouldn't stay in the ball and then the game decides to crash..*sigh*

The game has crashed on me every single time I've thrown a Pokeball today. I don't know if it's the server or shitty T Mobile but I'm over it.

MOTHERFUCKING DRAGONITE, BITCHES

125 CP, admittedly, but...

DRAGONIIIIIIIIIIIITE

Have there been any mass meet-ups? I heard about the one in Australia that was pretty successful. Next week, San Francisco is going to have a Pokemon Go Crawl, which is a 3 mile trek from the coast to one of parks further in town. It has over 4000 people confirmed going, with over 19000 signed up. Whether that many show up or not remains to be seen, but have there been any other organized events like this in any other cities?

Had the most surreal experience this evening. Boyfriend and I went for a walk with this and we went towards a lure that was nearby, outside a tall building. After a few minutes of us standing there a guy opened the window and told us to fuck off and stop using his lure.

Magical.

Girlfriend and I are going on first pokewalk

Servers are problematic now, but earlier on me and my girlfriend did this and it was amazing.

We took silly pictures in the park of us playing with the Pokémon we found, and learnt more about some interesting places near where we work.

If you have any server problems, I really highly recommend trying again when they are up.

I've been thinking about the gamification of fitness ever since trying fitocracy and certain elements of myfitnesspal.

After a week with this, I'm completely convinced at how powerful a tool it can be for motivation and, I don't even know what to call it, but like you forget that you're getting exercise and want to do more (sometimes many more times during the day than you otherwise would...)

I actually think I'd really love an AR game focused more intensively on fitness aspects. I have a Microsoft Band that tracks all kinds of metrics when I work out. And there are tons of open standards/APIs for heart rate monitors. Let me do an arm and shoulder workout and have that increase the strength of my character in a game.

I totally agree. Just because of this, I've been able to do so much more running than I can when I just run with headphones in. I think it'd be great to see more of this and your idea is on the right track.

lackluster walk around the neighborhood just now. At least I got my first Psyduck, signed up for blue team at my first gym experience and proceeded to get whooped at said gym. At least my 5kg egg hatched, Polywhirl

I've seen this passed around by my Seattle friends for the big meet-up on the 24th: https://www.facebook.com/events/266508160374258/

I can die happy now

Hahahah what

so he dropped it just to be a dick to passersby?

Took a walk along Central Park after work today to see what I could get. I was about to head home and hop on the train, but then I saw that a Pikachu was apparently nearby. Ended up walking another half mile looking for the fucker.

Never got it, but I got an Eevee at least. I'll take that.

Is that what those little green leaves are? Pokemon?

And I just came back from a run from the gym, I just happen to forget about the game everytime I'm out until I'm home.

Green leaves show you where a pokemon is most likely near.

Basically, when you open the "Nearby" list in the bottom right, that will show you a list of nearby pokemon. The more footprints means the further away they are. The list is ordered in terms of distance to you, and the upper left is the closest.

Basically, just get out there and start walking, particularly towards green grass rustling. That will give you the best shot at finding a pokemon.

They really need to get their servers up to speed asap. People are still hearing about it and trying to join in on the craze, it doesn't take much to turn people off.

I hate when you catch or try to catch a pokemon it freezes or I guess lags out. I was trying catch a CP ??? Marrowak earlier and it kept on freezing. It eventually disappeared and I was like on that corner for like 10 minutes lol
