Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Actually having a Pidgey Infestation where I live isn't all bad. They take like 13 candies to evolve, and I have around 400 of them. Just threw on a lucky egg and evolved every single on of them and shot up about 5 levels in a few minutes haha.

Is there a way to change the language of the game? My game is currently in german, but I already know all the german names and this would be a good opportunity to learn the english names.

what are the predictions, if you switch from there to the official app will you keep your progress?
I believe it checks with a server to load your save data. If you login with the same account it should restore all the data between versions and devices.

Perhaps you need to change the phone language to English? As I see no other option for language.

Has anyone verified this? As in logging in with different accounts from different regions and still retaining all their pokemon?

A German politician tweeted this. The game is not officially out yet in Germany btw.

Is that because it's a two stage evolution or something else?

Say I have a Pidgeot and a Dragonite then, how the hell would I make the latter stronger?

From what I gather, 2 stage or just generally powerful (in the game) Pokemon jump quite a bit when you evolve them, so leveling them up before going for the evolve will make them go up drastically.

Though, going by that same system, you can make some 3 stage pokemon really shoot up as well. It varies a little bit. Like Pidgie vs Caterpie

Yes hyperbeam is 70 :

Well damn! That's good

This game is making me get a tan. I did my usual gym (as in real-life, weight training gym) routine yesterday, but instead of doing cardio on a stationary bike at the end, I decided to walk around campus to hit up some PokéStops. Only had time for a 1 km walk, but it was like 90 F outside at that time and super sunny. A few weeks of this and I'll be tan as hell.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I've walked a million miles past tons of Pokémon and haven't gotten a prompt to catch any... Pinser, those egg guys, oddishes and eevees..

Yeah, it's tied to your google account. I can keep my progress between different devices.

have you actually done that with the inofficial apk? because I read that it didn't work for some people, others have reinstalled it and it didn't keep the progress. could be BS but I am looking for confirmation.

there's something I don't understand, if I'm looking for a pkmn from the radar, he can only appear by the streets right? or he can show up inside someone's house/garden?

Tap what where? The interface hasn't changed or anything, just says I'm no step, a step or two steps away from things

When you're very close to a Pokemon, they will appear on your map with a sound effect.

You then look at the map, locate them and tap to attempt a capture. All the 'nearby' thing does is show you a general distance from X pokemon, it's not a hard measurement. But if one says zero pawprints, that means you're right on top of one and it will likely spawn in a few seconds in your circle.

Man, I went from 180 pokeballs down to 30 last night. I went from an area that had a ton of Pokestops, but no Pokemon to an area that had a ton of Pokemon and only a couple Pokestops. It also appears that the Pokemon escape and evade the balls more often at higher levels...even the really low level ones.

my best pokemon is now a jolteon of near 500 cp but other than that I have pretty shitty pokemon..any trick to get good ones? or it's just luck?
also, it's cool that water pokemon spawn near, well, water

Man reading about this game is making me crazy. They need to hurry up and get Intel support on the android version and release in South East Asia.. Ive been playing a lot of Ingress lately just to pass the time. :(

When its 0 steps away open the tracker and select that Pokemon

That should make it appear
Thanks for the help guys!

The only thing that irks me about this game is there's no normalization for levels or CP. This game is a MMO in good ways and bad. People that either, shell out money for Lucky Eggs, or play nonstop will be a higher level and thus have much higher CP Pokemon at their disposal.

It really makes getting into the PVP aspect of the game rough, especially if you don't play often. I can deal with gyms being like this, but if they add normal battling I hope they look into adjusting Pokemon growth somehow.

WTF? now I am losing a lot of pokeballs when I throw at pokemon. Like they fall short or is too long of a shot. I am level 8, did not have any problems until recently after I leveled up. WTF?

Getting kinda annoyed at my Pokeballs bouncing off an invisible ceiling or when it randomly suddenly just goes to the right as if there was wind pushing it.

yeah I'm only using the "inofficial apk", but really it's the official apk, it's the same apk after all.

Problems with connecting, freezing Pokeball capture, and Pokestop lag?

It may be tied to the network of your carrier.

Try disabling LTE speeds from your device. Had 0 issues once I did that.

Please comment if this worked for you.

Managed to capture the highly contested Edinburgh castle. :)

I'm guessing this will last a whole 30minutes. I was standing against the wall with a team Red player next to me and he managed to bring down the previous level 3 team holding it (I was actually on my way there to re-enforce them as they had a open spot). I ninja'd the neutral castle from him. He fight off mine... rinse... repeat.. I fought him a couple of times. He walked. War is dirty.
