Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

How come sometimes when I level up I don't get any bonus? I just hit level 15 and didn't get any items :-/

I think, in my completely tech-dumb opinion, that the servers checks after certain time periods and that's when it sees whether you leveled or not and awards appropriately. I've also leveled up where it's taken a few minutes for me to get anything.

For me pokeballs arent an issue but it has now become potions that are in short supply. You tend to get a tonne of pokeballs at stops (i have one i can reach from my work desk plus go for walks) but you dont get as many potions. Also once you level up your mon to a decent level a normal potion is rubbish and you can use 3-4 filling its health up.

Im level 16 now so have unlocked super and hyper potions but you dont get any of them as much as balls.

I suppose what the real issue is bag space, my bad is constantly full now and i have had to start trimming the fat with some specific items like berries and revives since i dont use them that much. Im saving my gold coins to buy the bag extension but even then its only 50 so i will fill that up in no time.I should have 120 coins today so will have to work on getting/keeping gyms and collecting my bonuses for now.

What if they ban apk downloaders?
So far as I know that's completely unprecedented, but I'll be banned too if they do it!

Downloading/Installing an (official) APK isn't like pirating, even for a free game. The APK is literally the file that the store would be downloading to your phone and opening to install the game behind the scenes. It's identical except for using the store UI.

What they CAN do is block (not ban) all traffic from countries that they haven't released in yet, for traffic reasons or otherwise, and that would only affect APK users obviously because people in those countries playing can only be doing so with the APK. But so far, they haven't even done that once so far as I know.
Same. Can't really seem to get the hang of it... I try to dodge and then attack but i feel just spamming attack and tanking the hits works better for me atm.
Don't bother dodging unless you see the enemy use a special attack, and of course the timing for each those takes practice to get used to.

I would like to try this game, please? I can't? Oh, ok. :-(

Are gyms and all of that manually placed by the devs in logical locations? I guess it makes sense that they wouldn't prioritize countries like Sweden in that case, but otherwise I don't understand this BS.

Can anyone log on with Pokémon Trainer Club right now?

I can't. Was unable to login, and now getting an error when I try that says I need to activate my account. Never actually made me do that before (and I've been unable to, as every time I've ever tried I get the error message stating to try back in an hour because they're limited the number of new accounts.)

So I just cycled home from work catching Pokemon left and right.

Got myself two Horsea's a Seel and a fucking Rhyhorn.

But when I got home, I checked my eggs because I knew for damn sure one was on the verge of hatching. Turns out it's just gone. No Pokemon, no animations or sounds, just an empty incubator while I keep mine filled at all times.

What gives? Anyone else experience their eggs missing?

For those of you who have changed location and Apple ID (iOS), how do you add a credit card? Whenever I try to add one I get a credt card declined message. Why? And is there another way?

Try restarting the app?

I've hatched around 20 eggs and have never had one go missing.

Nothing at all was placed manually by the devs in the entire game, but they are all in logical locations in that they are all actually things that exist in the world. Sculptures, signs, fountains, storefronts, park features, etc.

All of the stops and gyms have been ported over from Nianitic's previous game, Ingress. All of the points of interest in that game were user-submitted and reviewed prior to being incorporated into the game. As a result, the people who are really screwed, rural or otherwise, are those who didn't have even a small contingent of Ingress players to submit points for their local area in the past. This is a major problem because of the scope of the two games (Ingress was a fairly successful project , but Pokemon Go is one of the most successful applications of all time) and people are playing it not only in places that it isn't released yet, but in places that their data didn't account for ever taking a relative interest.

Hopefully they will incorporate a solution of some kind soon- the game is definitely heavily dependent on the physical locations around you that you have regular access to.

It's happened a few times to me. The egg hatched, but maybe you lost connection at a bad time or the app froze. Restart the app and check your pokemon, the newly hatched one should be there.

for most pokestops and gyms they use data from their previous game called Ingress where they used user-submitted spots(mostly art works, parks, sculptures, museums, churches, firestations, etc.) and they just translated that data over to this game.

*edit lol damn you Hawk and your quickness. ;P

Me and my gf went pokecatchin last night only to be stalled by constant server issues. :(

Oh well, maybe this weekend theyll fix their servers and I can get to leveling up.

I'm finding myself far more interested in this than I thought I'd be just due to the massive amount of people playing (I work on a college campus, so it's, like, literally everyone), so it's a pretty big bummer that the game just does not fucking work on T-Mobile. When I'm close enough to buildings to use wifi the game has been working pretty well over the last two days, but as soon as I'm out and on the cell network, I have maybe a 10% success rate of actually interacting with things. 10% is generous, even. It's frustrating as hell.

Whats up with the way eggs are organized? I have 8 5KM eggs and they are not sorted by incubator type or by distance remaining

lol sorry

Churches, fire stations and museums are a great mention though, almost every single one I've seen is either a stop or gym. Possibly every one.

bummer :( They seem to be improving little by little and work best late night EST hours... I hope they are trying to overcompensate a bit, a couple the remaining official launches still to come could be really bad.

I believe they are simply sorted by when you acquired them?

I'm on T-Mobile and I can't be sure obviously but I'd be surprised if what you're experiencing has more to do with them than the general Niantic server issues affect everybody. I mean if you're in an area where their coverage is awful it is certainly possible, but performance just hasn't been stable for anyone at many points.
Maybe but the 10KM egg I had earlier is at the end of the list and a 5KM I got recently is ahead of it.

Oh wait, its possibly sorted by distance necessary AND when you acquired it?
Hmmm. It's sort of hard to tell because I only have two incubators going. For me it looks like, from top left to bottom right

Incubated egg acquired most recently -> Incubated egg acquired least recently -> Unincubated egg acquired most recently -> Unicubated egg acquired least recently. I don't know that the type of incubator matters since I only have one of each type going.

If you have Incubated eggs coming after unincubated eggs (like, from top left, incubated incubated unincubated incubated), then I have no clue.

Went for a walk at a local park that my team(Mystic) holds two gyms and has five pokestops to check on them and restock on items. Team Valor claimed the gym along the pokestop route so I took it upon myself to wear it down enough for another Mystic trainer to finish off. Ate up my potions like crazy but thanks to the pokestops I had steady supply. I caught a pinsir while taking breaks between fighting the gym and walking around. Saw a wild Vileplume was nearby and went hunting for it and was almost going to give up then met another trainer who was looking for it. We split up and looked around together for it. I met up with him shortly after again and he found it in a brush clearing then walked me to it. Turned out he was another Team Mystic trainer and took back the gym I weakened. I put my Flareon along with his Snorlax to defend it. Feels good man.

Caught the Vileplume too :3

So why the holdup on releasing the game in countries like Sweden? There are tons of known locations/POIs here (especially in the larger citites, of course), Ingress works here, etc. Are they simply holding us back to keep the server pressure down? Sucks.
