Yes, the animation and the yellow flash are farther apart, just make sure to wait for the yellow flash.
Fast attack is just a single tap on your avatar. Secondary attack is a press and hold on your avatar.
Do NOT tap like mad. This is what causes the 1 hp bug best I can tell. I always wait for my damage to register (enemy hp bar flashes and goes down) before attacking again. If you do the dodge/attack/wait, you'll likely never press to fast to get the bug.
I had this happen with a 300 Jynx. Then the guy had the gall to walk by and tell me "Gotta catch 'em all." Who does that shit?

So can people actually view the nicknames you've given to your pokémon while they're in a gym? Because a friend of mine saw my Gloom called "Gloom" instead of the Nickname i gave to him. Furthermore i haven't seen any nicknames on pokémon in other gyms.

At downtown Seal Beach we have alot of people drive by and either yell "YEAH POKEMON GO" or "YOU CANT EVEN CATCH EM ALL!!!!!!!!"

My girlfriend's city is a Go wonderland with stops every 30 seconds and some so close together that there are 24/7 pokego parties going on with 4 lures at once at the same park.
My area is a desolate wasteland with one stop within walking distance and two gyms. Nothing but rats and birds.
I can basically only play this game when I go to visit her.

This is my favorite thing I've seen so far. Pokémon really does make the world a better place.
Someone has that potion that goes off for 30 minutes for all people near it over here next to UCI. Loving it! Caught my highest level pokemon so far. A 167 CP Growlithe inside a Specialtys café!
I'm a level 5 now because of that!
Their CP potential. It moves as you power them up. When you evolve a Pokemon their CP will increase dramatically based on your trainer level, but the position of the bar along the arc will remain the same.

It was kind of my fault. When choosing what Pokémon to put in it I noticed that my Marowak from another gym had been defeated. I was in the process of healing him when the car that had pulled up behind me thirty seconds earlier left. After healing Marowak I went to put it on and the spot was filled.
So now instead of having nine 1000+cp pokemon on a gym there's only eight plus a 250cp Pidgeotto. I would have made bank off that spot.

I don't know if it's a blessing or a curse that my apartment building is a PokeStop with frequent lures.
While I agree that it is a distraction with many potential dangers and that people will be stupid... that is also the case for any number of other cell phone games, just texting, or even any number of non-cellular distractions for drivers that do harm to themselves or others on a daily basis. The distraction, rather than the nature of the distraction, is the problem here, and nobody should be doing anything of this nature while driving.
Now name me another game that is incentivizing kids to go walk rescue dogs at their local animal shelter.
I have quite a few. They are usually quite hard to catch and run away fairly frequently.

Caught a 563 Kingler in the middle of nowhere, hatched a 315 Pikachu from a 2km egg, and caught a 291 Dratini that randomly appeared in a park that normally gets Staryu at best. Good day!
I saw a level 8 gym stacked with the most powerful group of pokemon I ever saw, I think all around or above 1500, including a 1800+ Snorlax. They still got toppled within a couple of hours. If you're in a busy area it seems completely pointless trying to get a gym.
I know it's a cute idea but I hope the kids are supervised and made to pay attention more to the dogs than the game. It's really not a good idea for a kid to be distracted while walking an animal, both for the kid's sake and the pet.

Man, turning the AR off makes the game much more smooth. The game almost never lags when trying to enter an encounter and I haven't had any freezes since turning it off. I was getting them constantly with it on. I'll use it every once in awhile but I can live seeing the fake environments.
Also, does anybody else have absolutely no interest in doing any gym stuff? Cause I couldn't care less at the moment lol

Why isnt this road in my city....
I play and drive. I have the app open in a holder on my dash and use it to track pokemon and collect pokestops. I never try to catch a pokemon while driving though. If I find something I pull over.
