One of the best tips I can give is to hold on to these fodder pokemons like Pidgey and Weedle, actually hold off on evolving any pokemon until you have a decent amount to evolve. Then turn on the Lucky egg for double exp and do all the evolutions! You will get 1000xp for every pokemon you evolve, even those fodder pidgeys.

That means you can only increase it that little at this current trainer level. As you level up, you can raise them to higher CP.

If you don't have enough candy to evolve something but want to actually USE it to fight at that moment, then powering it up makes sense. Otherwise, evolution is way better. Gets you XP, big CP boost, doesn't use Stardust...

Its maximum CP is determine by your Trainer Level.

Today has sucked. Go to my doctors and there is zero Pokemon on the radar for over 5 minutes and then I'm called in. Slowbro pops up somewhere 3 footprints away but never went down from 3 before disappearing. Stop in a town on the way home for lunch and there's an Alakazam 3 footprints away, same outcome. Go to pull off at a rest stop and open it and a clefairy pops next to the exit ramp so I'm not risking safety. Now back home and it's the usual groups of weedle, rattata and pidgey.

I think Graveler popped up 3 footprints away at home. Get to 2 footprints and it disappears. FUCK. At least the rest stop got me an Abra finally. This amount of frustration is going to turn me away from this very soon without some QoL enhancements in the next big update.
 
This game has convinced me to go out and buy a portable charger. Cutting my hunting short because of my phone's shitty battery sucks.
 
Up to 92 caught, 96 seen. Given Mew, Mewtwo, Zapdos, Moltres, Articuno, Ditto, and Farfetch'd aren't in, that's uh... 48 to go?

People here are loaded, dropping serious cash into the game and throwing down nonstop lures all over the place.

For sure. Evolving Pidgeys, Weeddles, etc for a modest 12 candy is the way to go for gaining lots of EXP.
 
So I hatched two 10km eggs and got.. 2 Eevees. What the heck. I was expecting something bigger.

On my journey today I found three pokestops right next to each other. I can go in the middle of them and get them all. Its pretty tempting to just camp there cause other than those three the stops are quite spread out in my city.

Nope, the first one exactly. So you wanna tap it as soon as you've got the most pokemon in gyms you think you'll manage to get that day.
