Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

So have a good picture which really captures the hype here. But how do I upload it to neogaf?

Use an image uploading site such as imgur, etc. and then you can post that link. If it's a direct link (ends in .jpg, .png), you can wrap
tags around it and it will show the picture.

If it's a big picture, common courtesy is also to wrap tags around that.

So what are yalls caught/seen numbers?

I'm at 65 caught, 65 seen.

I'm at 72 Caught, 72 Seen.

Not counting the Magnemite that always seems to run away before I can find them.

Nice NYT article. Think it gets to the heart of what makes the phenomenon cool.

Nothing revolutionary but there's so much of a push to clickbait negativity that it's nice to see this kind of stuff in big pubs:
Thanks to Pokémon Go, I've been talking to more strangers on public transit, in restaurants, and on the street. One was a neighbor I had never spoken with, who stopped walking his dog and took out his headphones to ask me why I was standing on the sidewalk with my phone pointed in the air. Something about the sheer silliness of cute cartoon monsters interposed over our lonely realities seems to break the bubbles we’ve built around ourselves.

Pokémon Go gave me new eyes with which to look at my city. It pushed me to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air, and to strike up conversations with strangers. What more could you ask for of any game — digital or otherwise?

Could someone get me a screencap of the update for...i guess it's apple devices? I'd like to add it to the OP. I saw someone posted it a few pages back but it's gone now?

Edit: people were trying to trepass to catch Pokemns ? XD

A house near me (all fenced except for the entrance) put police tape across his driveway yesterday to keep the gaggle of teens on their phones that keep congregating there out, I wonder what he's got in there

For every New Yorker with 20 lures active at all times around them, there is someone like me whos view is this:

At least you have a gym in walking distance. I have to keep making trips to town to reclaim mine.

Is there another way to get more backpack space without paying? Will I get some at __ rank?

Or should I just toss all these pokeballs and buy a few BP upgrades? I keep getting rinsed at gyms (did find a 200 Eevee on campus today, a nice bonus)

Also props to the devs for letting you keep rank-up material you get, even if your bag is full <3

So after messing with the updated iOS app........sssoooooo much better. Pokeballs still freeze here and there but definitely not what it was. App also launches insanely quick and no relogging after crash puts it on par now with the Android app.

1 egg per incubator until it hatches.

You start with your infinite-use incubator and then through either leveling up or buying an incubator from the store, you get 3-use incubators.

Incubators are probably the best investment you can make, IMO. Maybe Pokemon storage expansions when you're at much higher levels, but having 8 incubators means nine times the hatch rate, which is really, really significant.

Tracked Bulbasaur down to one step, then the servers gave out. Came back on about 7 minutes later and he was gone. RIP the dream

The level up system is seriously flawed when it comes to starters and rare Pokemon. Needing to find duplicates to power them up is a joke. I've seen one Magikarp, and this thing wants me to get 400 candies to evolve it.

The gameplay loop is fun, and the idea in general is sound since it allows the many repeat Pokemon to be useful as a resource, but it means my team is nothing by Raticates and Pidgeots, and eff me if I want anything other than that to be high enough CP to take a gym.

I've spent 5 bones on the game just to increase the backpack space. Super useful imo.

I've thought about it. I couldn't decide if Lucky Eggs or Incubators were more useful to buy. The higher the trainer level, the more powerful wild pokemon you run into right?

So the incubators you buy are only 3 use incubators? Are they worth it. I have a lot of eggs but it takes a long time to hatch them

Cool thing is, Nintendo is probbaly loving this. Free marketing and exposure all over the place

Knowing nintendo theyd probably shut it down if they could...

They seem to not like stuff they can't control... See Evo Melee for deets
