Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

For the most part, I keep 1-2 of every pokemon I catch and replace them if I find a stronger version of said pokemon. I do hold on to copies of some pokemon to evolve for EXP, like Pidgey. Pidgeys only cost 12 candies to evolve, and they pop up even faster than McDonalds locations in the USA. Hold on to 20+ Pidgeys, get enough candies to evolve them all, then put on a lucky egg and enjoy your 20k+ exp.

I have many pidgeys and a couple lucky eggs. Thanks for the advice. I should be able to get to lvl 13 with this. Nice.

I've noticed this happens a lot when I'm at home. It's like the app is trying to goad me outside with a pokemon I don't have yet, but then I go outside and I can't hone in for shit.
I feel the same way. It seems like when my phone gets out of Wifi range and switches to data the Pokemon I can see from my house completely disappears.

Why can't I still login? Unable to authenticate since update with trainer account. Google account works ok. Deleting this. Not worth the effort and don't want to start over. #FAIL

Yeah, the patch for IOS broke PTC logins. Someone on reddit tested it, when you try to login using the trainer account, it doesn't even send a request to the server, it just says "Unable to Authenticate".

I was tracking this goddamned exeggutor for a half hour and it just wouldn't go down to 2 paws

And now I need a cigarette

Most likely it had already left your range a short while into your search, and the "nonupdating radar list" problem occurred. I recommend when you are hunting a specific Pokemon, if it stays at three prints for a while, reboot the app to refresh the radar list. For some reason some of the Pokemon on the radar with three prints stop checking to see if you are completely out of range.

I have a question about the current meta behind leveling and evolving.

The first eevee I evolved started out as a 230. Ended up with a 555 Jolteon.

I currently have a 102 eevee and enough candy to evolve it.

But based on my understanding, I feel like I should wait in order to capture a higher level eevee. Is this wrong?

I have a route I can drive in 5 minutes where I can get 8 poke stops. By the time I've gone round, they've respawned. I'm essentially driving in a circle.

Unlimited everything.

I can reach a PokeStop while sitting at my desk at work. I like to periodically turn it on and spin the landmark throughout the day, takes like 5 seconds to do.

Lately, an employee has been setting up lures there. There was one active when I came in this morning, and one active when I returned from lunch. I suspect co-workers are playing it at lunch in the cafeteria. The problem is that the lures become too much of a temptation to goof off when I should be working. Spinning the PokeStop real quick while a computer application is loading is one thing, actually trying to catch stuff is another. Don't want to get in trouble with a supervisor. :(

I think the nearby pond at our office building is triggering a lot of Water types, as I saw a 2 Poliwags, a Staryu, a Psyduck, and a Slowpoke today.

Yeah I don't know the pros/cons of powering them up before/after evolving.

Maxing cp before evolving feels more impressive

So if they broke PTC in this update, why the hell is it still on the app store? Why not roll back to the previous version...

Ya wait until you catch an eevee with a higher CP, you'll save dust in the long run. Atleast that's my tactic, save for something 300+ CP and hope it doesn't evolve into another damn flareon.

I've thought about it. I couldn't decide if Lucky Eggs or Incubators were more useful to buy. The higher the trainer level, the more powerful wild pokemon you run into right?

You don't actually need that many Lucky Eggs. They're best used in bursts when you have ~45 Pokemon to evolve, which takes a while in and of itself. using them when you don't have a lot of evos lined up is... not that useful, really. Catching a mon you've already caught giving 200 XP instead of 100 XP is nothing at higher levels.

Incubators are GOAT, although at higher levels you might want to increase 'mon and bag storage.

So whack, so those of us who downloaded the update are locked out of the game until they release another patch...

It doesn't matter when you use your power ups, pre or post evolution. The power ups just move the Max CP meter, which doesn't move up when you evolve. And it doesn't cost extra to power up an evolved form over a basic form.

You should always use your highest CP to evolve though.

Kinda hard to explain, but long story short, evolve your best CP, and it doesn't matter if you power up before or after the evolution.

Communication is at the moment difficult, there is no official forum, just a mail to contact them... They didn't even announced the update on the game twitter...

They have stated that they are working on trading between players but have been vague about what other enhancements are in our future. No specific mention of 1v1 battles as far as I know.

Thats a shame. As it is, I can't see myself playing it for more than a couple of days.

This PTC iOS update break is ridiculous. How did they not test it out before launching? It's going to suck to be out of the loop for the next few days.

Team Instinct are the underdogs, right? Every survey has them placed as the least popular against traditional red vs blue and admittedly cooler concepts.

Sounds like my kind of team!

Sure the Valor
Communists
are the most popular, but Mystic is the true power. I bike up to a lvl. 6 Valor gym and rofl stomp it without losing any pokemon, leave a Rattata in that place, and bike off. Still there 6 hours later, come on boys.

I live above a laundromat right now and it put a marker or something over my place.
...
I aint moved from the couch in half an hour and I just caught nearly a dozen Pokemon. Eevees, Venonat, Zubat, Drowzees, clefairies everywhere, wurmples, pidgeys, ratatatas, haunter and some sorta crab keeps showing up on radar.

Gonna makes me an Eevee team outta this. Grass keeps a fluffin up round me too. If the app doesn't freeze I'll just sit here and fill er up.

Someone's saying there are tons of Charmanders and a few Charizards at the Boardwalk where I live. The Boardwalk is an amusement park. Maybe that's where they like to hang out. Haven't seen any otherwise.

I'm going to be trying this shit out in an amusement park tomorrow. I already gave the area a cursory glance and it's filled with pokestops. Hoping we got some rare stuff in there. My lure is ready and waiting.
