Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Yeah, if you can, its good once in a while to just sit in an area where you can access multiple stops at once and just grind out some items. Once you get in the thick of it it can be pretty difficult to get them.

I CAUGHT A SANDSHREW

I got robbed of a bunch of XP just then, I had a lucky egg going, hatched a Staryu (a Pokemon I didn't have) but it seemed to hatch while I was catching a lowly Ekans and didn't give me any XP at all. Then, to top it off, my phone died while trying to catch a 300+ CP Graveler (I know its not much but I only have 1 300+ CP Pokemon, and I grinded him up myself). I'm bitter.

My buddy snapped a pic of his screen leaving his closest Chipotle. Not kidding, SEVEN Pokecenters on screen, and three incense that I can tell.

I happened to be leaving my local Chipotle at the same time. We're about 15 miles apart. I passed a single Pokecenter on my ~five mile drive back.

Huh...now some kind of bird. Looks like a Fearow or something. Guess I'll just keep sitting here doin nothing and getting pokemon. Yay.

It took exactly two minutes of me walking down the street after beginning the game for someone to give me shit for it. I live in a small town and was walking down a residential street toward the nearest monument when some redneck opens his door, shouts "PIKACHU, I CHOOSE YOU" at me in the most mocking hayseed tone possible, and slams his door back shut.

Already deleted the game. Nobody blinks in the city if someone is walking down the street with a phone because a hundred other people are doing it at any given time. Doing this on an empty street, especially in Trumpland, just makes you look like a freak or turns you into a target, apparently.

I guess the game was fun for the whole minute before I suddenly had to relive my entire childhood worth of being bullied for liking Pokemon. Oh well.

Instinct team member detected.

Don't have such thin skin. Fuck a redneck go catch Pokemon!

Edit: you can press around on the screen creating a blue circle. Does it do anything ?

wut

Don't have such thin skin. Go to a PokeStop with a lure and hang out with a bunch of people from all backgrounds.

If it hasn't been talked about yet, there's a growing movement on fb called The Lugia Alliance, with chapters forming in different states. It's a really neat way to cool down all the faction hate.

Well, I think all teams can agree that Lugia is the absolute worst legendary. So, in a way, this alliance has succeeded in providing common ground.

Sorry dude :(

poke balls...rare...? you live in the country? they are rare around my house but a ten minute drive to a couple spots give great pokestop concentrations

No I'm in a city, there are 3 a few blocks away from me (in different directions no clusters) but it's too hot to walk anywhere here during the day I don't feel like loading up the kid to take a car trip multiple times a day.

I live in a town of 5k and have seen at least ten people play it. No one has given me any shit.

Fuck that guy.

As someone who has never played a Pokemon game in their entire lives, I feel like I am not a contributing member to society because I haven't downloaded this app yet.

Augh. arby's is supporting team Valor. Mess

Sounds about right.

Pokemon Go Rarity chart for all 151 listed and circling reddit.
Link to Pokemon Go rarity rankings

The problem with this is it obviously slants towards where they polled. As an example, Magnemite is their 3rd most common Pokemon--I haven't even seen a Magnemite, neither on nearby or in my game. It also has Caterpie and Weedle dead even, when i have gotten 3-4x as many Weedle's as Caterpies (I have evolved 2 Beedrills and 0 Butterfree's so far). The way the game generates Pokemon, where you live greatly affects the rarity of certain Pokemon.

Went for a walk around my neighborhood for the first time.
Managed to get a Horsea with Incense and a Pinsir on the regular route. Not much CP, but at least now I've caught everything I'd seen. Saw a 483 CP Pinsir, but couldn't get that one.
Got another Bulbasaur and several Magikarp though, so I think I'll take more walks around here, like near the late day/early evening.

Up to 43 now, and got a bunch waiting on Evolutions.

Not sure which is more hilarious:
  1. That I took over my first gym as "away team" on a work trip
  2. The gym was at an Olive Garden
  3. Team Instinct actually took over a gym

Don't let people make you feel bad about things that you like.

Screw Lugia Aeroblast FTW, the world shall turn to Ash.

Who is the Ash Ketchum of Earth Prime?

Elon Musk

Also I keep thinking about places where Pokémon could show up. like metalworks where Magmar and shit could be

Charmanders a plenty near volcanoes

stuff like that

Dude, you could've been walking down the street looking at your bank account and that cunt of a dude would have done the same thing. How the hell does he know what you're doing on your personal phone? The fucker isn't phsycic and if he was you'll have more serious problems. Fuck'em.

Almost getting time for a nice cool nighttime walk.

Went on a walk earlier today and used an incense while walking through a forest trail. Exactly 5 pokemon showed up during the whole thing, 3 pidgets and 2 rattatas. I guess its evolution meat candy. Was hoping I'd get more variety, seem to find more in town when I'm level 10.

It's interesting if it's like an overall average, but yeah, seems like where I'm at currently (Pittsburgh) doesn't have much in common with the average.

Excited to see what NYC is like when I go back home.

Also wonder if I can catch stuff on the train ride back...

I just took a gym for the first time single-handedly as Instinct! I lost it two minutes later but that's not important, OUR TIME IS NOW

Got a chance to play in downtown Boston tonight. Way way WAY better than playing in suburbs. I get it now, had so much fun with it
