Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

You were playing with AR off, right?

You just have to fling them further. Dunno what else to tell you. Curved throws don't travel any further than regular throws.

Yes, lucky egg gives you double xp for everything.

Pretty sure there's no cap on candies you can hold, considering something like Gyarados requires 400.
I did have AR off. I don't know, I thought I was throwing far. What's the best way to throw far? I feel like I'm missing something in how to actually throw it consistently far.

as 3 paws while coming to work yesterday, drived there early today just to wonder endlesslly for 30 minutes with no luck :(

Is is really a bad thing for the museum to be a landmark in the game? I would want this terrible history to be as visible as possible, not hidden and tucked away to make us comfortable.

As long as it's just serving as a landmark, I don't see what's offensive.

The problem is that people walk in to the museum and just ignore everything around them and play the game, which really distracts people who are there for the museum.

To all those Pokemon Masters that are high level already, do you find more different Pokemon than when you were just starting out, or are you still drowning in Rattata and Weedle?

The kids here are crazy.

I took over a gym right before my timer ran out. Cashed in and ent right home and heard some kids on bikes screaming. Looked at the Map and the gym was taken over again.

The whole process took 3 minutes.
THREE MINUTES.

Good thing I thought ahead and only planted a 10CP weedle in the arena. I thing until I have a really buffed Pkmn I will keep trolling them like this :)

I'm guessing what is happening is that people are walking around laughing and chatting while playing this game and not giving the museum any attention or really learning anything from it. so the history is being ignored when its right in someone's face.

At least, I assume that is the case why people want it removed. So it can get proper reverence.

Still drowning in Rattatas, Pidgeys, and Zubats, like I have been since lvl. 1. I have seen a few rarer pokemon, but I'd say that's more due to pure time spent rather than being a higher level.

Because you're seeing the same Pokemon as everybody else, the rarity of those that you find never changes. The CP unfortunately improves though, which just tends to make catching Pokemon that you're going to transfer anyway harder.

But Pokemon don't vanish just because somebody else caught them.

Thanks for answering! I kinda hoped they'd be the same for everyone until a certain level, where a low level player would see a Rattata and a high level player would see a Scyther on the same spot. :(

Drove and walked around the Quad CIties with my fiance tonight and ran into dozens of people playing. It's fun to see people of all ages, both singles and couples enjoying the game and getting out on such a lovely night.

It's unfortunate that so many people are playing as they are driving, when you add that to the fact that I saw a bunch of kids playing in the middle of the street, I really worry that something tragic may happen.

I'm not sure if I find the game to me that much fun, but the social aspect is brilliant and I've never seen anything quite like this in gaming, It is, if nothing else, a moment.

I'm from the QC too! Have you found an area with a bunch of stops in a small area? Everywhere I've been seems to be pretty spread out.

You know what they need? Minigames, or things to do with the pokemon you have. Like taking them out for walks with you to raise CP without stardust, or making them exercise in AR. Or toss them treats to give them temporary boosts. I wanna watch my Gloom walk around all cute like.

They also need to get the AR orientation working with non gyroscope orientation sensors. Other apps find my orientation fine Niantic!

Alright, this is weird. So far I've caught a Horsea, Seaking, and Seel from the parking lot behind my dorm. It makes no sense why they would be there, but I caught them all there.

Has anyone else noticed that the "Map Box" on a Pokemon's stats has been zoomed way out, even retroactively? It used to show me where I caught a Pokemon down to almost a city block. I noticed after getting home tonight that the Map was instead showing almost the entire *city,* and Pokemon from days ago are like that now too.

It's gone from "I caught this Bulbasaur on the west end of the park" to "I caught Bulbasaur on the west half of the city."

Yup, noticed this too. I rolled back to version 1.0 and the map is back to normal. Didn't find version 1.0.1 to be any more stable anyway.

The Greenway trail (Roswell/Alpharetta GA) is filled with Pokestops (and a few gyms). In a 20 min period was able to get 35 pokeballs and a few eggs. I'm prob going to do that tonight.

Looks like I found the perfect place to stock up on things.

I just found a Magmar......Then the game froze. Restarted and he was still there. However my Pokeballs werecurving like crazy and he ran away. Why was the pokeballs curving so crazy? That has never happened to me before

This is a good day. I took the bus and train to places I normally don't go to, and caught 20+ new Pokemon. Levelled up to lvl 7, and powered up different Pokemon. Also evolved a Widget to Pidgeotto. And picked team red. I'm loving this game.

Found out there's a pokestop at a park I pass on the way to work. So if I boot up the app when I'm a couple blocks away I can spin it just as I'm at the stop sign next to it and get items twice a day..

that's part of the difficulty when you are catching stronger pokemons

With red circle/higher CP pokemon, your shots just start curving more automatically. I had this happen to me yesterday with a 470+ Pidgeot

Borked game.

I've wasted so many Pokéballs and lost so many Pokémon to the game not letting me throw the ball straight.

Edit: Everybody says this is intentional. I really don't think it is. If it is, it's a shit-tier game mechanic.

It can't take long to fill out the form, surely? I don't really get the complaint. They have a process in place to notify them of inappropriate locations. What more can they really do?

I agree, I think the problem it's just not well know that website exist.
But frankly churches and even librairies are joining the game because it benefit fr people t discover new place they never been and it help the business to get money.

When they start curving for me i hit the run button and He's still there, so I face him again and it usually doesn't curve again.

Well that was shitty. So I found a Pidgeot while walking around and I was trying to catch it. It was 377 CP. I had about 100 pokeballs and I ran through all of them. Most of them never reached it since it was so far away. Any tips about doing this? Should I have curved all my shots?

Also, is it really worth it to use Razz Berries? They only work for your next throw, not the whole fight.

I only use a berry if I see an orange circle, I feel like it helps but only a little.

Long throws are annoying, it's best to let go of the swipe near the top of the screen instead of adding more power with a faster swipe along the bottom.

As for curving balls I play with VR off, if your stroke curves a bit then the ball tends to fling off to the side really far so be careful!
