but nah it won't scan, screen needs to be on unless you have the battery saver option turned on where it dims your phone's screen. It's the one dumb aspect about the game imo

What should you save incense for?
If you activated battery saver mode, it'll dim the screen and show a PGO logo when you put the phone in your pocket while the app is active.
When that happens it's still scanning for pokes and you'll get sound and vibrations.
But if you put your phone in actual sleep mode (screen off) then it doesn't.
Like the actual games? lol
Does the team you join matter anything? Iam at level 3 so obviously I havent joined to any team
.I've noticed they work best by far when you're moving fast (In a car/bus/train)
I also use them to trigger encounters with rare Pokemon who show up on tracking screen

It's really just preference, although I know some people try to base it off of what teams are popular in their area so they have an easier time taking down gyms. Don't know if that's actually worked out for them though.
I just have always liked Articuno more than the other birds.
click the pokemon button in the center of the screen, then click on settings in the top right
Battery saver is the 4th option down, it's set to off on default

Your app doesn't have touchscreen issues after exiting the battery saver position?
Biggest catches today are Dragonite, Aerodactyl, Porygon(hatched), Geodude and Rhyhorn.

You'll hopefully spawn yours soon but yeah sometimes the rare ones are impossible to find. I was running around for an Aerodactyl today and was incredibly lucky to find it even if it sucked CP wise.

Supposedly it's the same in the end.
I wouldn't waste time powering up pokemon unless they're ones you actually want to use though. As you level up you'll always find stronger ones.

this needs to be the next OT title its getting asked so much
powering up costs are the same regardless of evolution status, its based on where the dot on the CP arc is. evolve first to see if your evolution has a good attack, and boost if you decide its worth keeping.

There was a gigantic mass of about 200+ people (no joke) chilling down by Union Square, just popping lures all night and chatting about Pokemon and life and everything in between. I met some cool people, made friends, exchanged some numbers. It was sublime

Save the dust and just evolve. You will want a mountain of dust once you get to the higher levels

Nope, you won't find anything. It's not that we can't get the app (I have it on my phone, downloaded via the US App Store), the problem is that, unlike most other countries without an official release, the Japan map is actually offline and doesn't show anything.
So yeah, all of Europe doesn't have the game (except Germany), but if they get access to the app they can play it (and therefore, mess with the servers). In Japan even if you are a tourist from the US or Australia or whatever, you are straight locked out of playing it.
Same situation as mine. I think that Niantic locks the whole Asia region. If they open up the server to us, the server will not stay for long.

So I just got myself one of these for my Phone so I can keep my phone on my wrist while riding around on my Bike. Can't exactly hatch eggs and catch Pokemon if my phone has to stay in my poket

A friend of mine has been doing short daily videos around the world for the past three months. Today, he played Pokémon Go with two Syrian refugees in Köln, Germany. Thought some people here would appreciate it 
It mentions servers in The Netherlands but it's not out here as of yet.
Servers seem damn stable over here from what I can see though.

Had a good walk after work today and managed to catch a 990 Hypno.
Level 18 right now and it's definitely harder to catch pokemon. Basically if you can't do curveball consistently I can't see how you will make it past level 20. Start practicing now.
