Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

This morning's haul in the bedroom: Squirtle, a Raticate, a Paras, 2 Geodudes, a Rhyhorn, and a Magnemite.

And yesterday got a Gloom, lots of Magikarps, and some Eevees.

Can't wait to get out and go grocery shopping, of all things. :D

why not something like this? that way you can also store a power bank and your keys and stuff

I was looking at bike mounts, but I figured that since I wear a Lanyard for my keys and most of my pants have zippers for my wallet that I would be better off going with a wristband so that I can easily transition between Bike and Walking if need be.

That said, I do like that mount you listed, I'ma put it on my wishlist

I am mad.

A bulbasaur popped up nearby and I immediately used an incense, and as soon as I did it disappeared and didn't return until 2 minutes after the incense ran out.

Ash Ketchum never had it like this...

Had a good walk after work today and managed to catch a 990 Hypno.

Level 18 right now and it's definitely harder to catch pokemon. Basically if you can't do curveball consistently I can't see how you will make it past level 20. Start practicing now.
How? I just lob the balls straight at them. Level 7. Why are curve balls better, and how do you do them?

This bloke popped up while I was having late lunch down at the park. Figured I'd chuck up a lure (Seems to work better on people than Pokemon) and managed to catch him second ball.

Best method is to use one finger and you make a circular motion (with some speed) on the ball and you'll see it begin to spin and speed up. You then launch it off to the side (Depending which way you spin the ball) and it should curve back in. Once you get used to it I find it actually easier to hit with this than normal lobs.

Theres a corner 2 blocks away from me with 3 pokestops there. 3 lures were set up and no joke like 50 people were there hanging out catching pokemons. I went over there twice today in between phone charges.

Seeing Lures being activated all around me while stucked at my desk at work it's killing me

This weekend can't come soon enough

Got out of bed and went for a walk at 8am this morning to go find a Kabuto that appeared near my house. I don't have to be in work for another 6 hours today and I'm voluntarily getting out of bed to go find a Pokemon, I don't know what's going on anymore.

Wouldn't have been so bad if the app hadn't crashed and the Kabuto disappeared by the time I reopened it.

They would be crazy not to allow people to transfer Pokemon to Pokemon Bank with exclusive Go moves. Keeps Go going for years and drives new people to Sun and Moon in droves.

Are eevee super aggressive for everyone else? I swear that even the lower level ones are constantly fighting and knocking poke balls away. You guys are so cute, just chill out.

This game really makes people dumb or at least dumb people like to play. Seriously who goes to a botanical garden after close in the middle of the night to take a gym. That's definitely trespassing but fuck it, gotta get them pokemon! I was watching the gym from my house and just baffled that someone would trespass for it.

mine are more public but someone is going around at 3am claiming the gyms with low level pokemon right now lol.

Pidgeys are the best.

Easiest source of free EXP aside from Caterpie/Weedle

So weird.

I just hit level ten, and caught my first Caterpie. Haven't even seen a Weedle.

I get lots of Ponyta's and Abra's where I am at. It's weird. I finally evolved a Ponyta to a Rapidash and caught one wild here a few minutes later. lol

I had a Magmar in my 10km eggs, no idea if he's a decent pokemon but he is only 365ish and that makes him useless sadly

especially early level the 10km eggs are not that useful, because I guess what's inside them is defined the moment you reveice them and early leveling goes fast, if I am 5 when I get them and 10 when they hatch they are pretty much useless sadly

another question, I don't really get the rewards for arenas.
I just lost all my assigned pokemon over night, now I put to in and I got 20 gold and some stardust for that instantly. now the timer ticks down from 21 hours.
but when I assign new ones in that time I don't get any rewards instantly, right? and when they are defeated during that time I don't get any rewards either, right?

what's the best way to deal with this timer?

Are those Weedles good exp? I seem to have them around my house & Gastly & Spearows.

Pidgey, Caterpie, and Weedle all take 12 candies to evolve which will give 500 EXP.

Everything else requires 25 candies for a middle evolution followed by 100 candies for the final evolution, or just 50 candies if they only evolve once.

Except Magikarp. 400 candies.

No matter how many candies it takes to evolve, you will always get 500 EXP for evolving (1000 EXP if you use a Lucky Egg first).

Which is why from a farming standpoint, the 3 I mentioned are the most efficient if you live in an area full of them.

not true, you get 1k if it is a new evolve

which is why you really want to save those for when you have a lucky egg, as they become 2k each
