Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Well, this happened.

A french community tried to make an event but had to cancel it because authorities told them "NO".
The reason why they contacted them it's because of the amount of replies: 6K. So the french community though that a large amount of people may come (more than 500 people) so for safety reason they asked official permission to hold that event.

But let's be realistic, I doubt that even more than 100 people would've participated. So no need to call the authorities for that and for what ? hunt in a park like place...so a public area

Same problem Hamburg Germany and I can tell you... there would have been a lot more people than 100. People are crazy and always outside now.

So I started playing this game today and am level 7. Apparently you need 7000 exp to level up more. Is there a list for exactly how much you need for every level? (Also, reaching 7000 takes a while...)
Is there an overview detailing which special attacks are the best?
When is it worth it to make a Pokemon stronger instead of just levelling your trainer level and catching a stronger one?

After lv 10 every level you need 10K XP

I know there is a lot of people outside due to the game but my point is that is more difficult to gather a large group of people for an event in general (I'm not talking about sport events). So expecting 1K+ people to just for that event is just being whishfull. I know I live in France and I know how we react. Viral stuff like in NA won't really happen not in same scale.

Trying to catch a pidgeotto and having the pokeball constantly curve away from it is making this game really test my patience... It's just becoming stupid.

I had that too, started to just compensate for the curve and it was fine. I assumed it was a pidgie feature

Spinning it before you throw makes that stop happening for the most part in my opinion. Spin and curve that badboy

Took the dog for a walk early this morning through a suburban neighborhood and even though I was walking around a block, the nearby indicators never got closer than 2 steps. I think most of the Pokemon are in people's (large) back yards. My parents live in the neighborhood so I stopped in and sure enough one was at the very back of the property. What the heck are they thinking with some of these spawn locations?

Posting this again, as though two people have said it's fine, until I hear from people who specifically say they've done this themselves, I don't want to take any chances. The two people who replied didn't actually say if they've done this personally, so I don't know if they're just speculating or not.

Thanks!

EDIT: Never mind; saw somebody on Reddit specifically say they did it personally, and had no issues. Leaving this here in case anybody else might have the same question!

Can confirm, had a us game, redownloaded the app and got asked to enter my DOB again, and signed in with my Google account and all was fine.

I really hope that they patch in the ability to play music from another app and still hear sounds from Pokemon Go. I want to bike around listening to my favorite music and hear alerts for when a pokemon or pokestop appears, but I can't. I can either ride around listening to music and stopping every block or so to make sure I don't miss anything, or I can ride around in silence waiting to hear a notification noise from the app. It's not game-breaking, but Pokemon Go is the only app that I've used that doesn't have the feature implemented.
I either pause my music right before I start my game, then unpause it from the swipe down menu on my phone or just exit out, start my music then go back to the game. I use Android btw.

Edit: Oh, I don't know about the music from the game still working. I just keep vibration on and use that if I'm using other music.

Level 20 is when it becomes better to power up your Pokemon instead of level yourself, because the amount of EXP needed to increase your level from level 20 onwards rises incredibly sharply; it's a soft-cap. That means waiting to hit the next level for higher CP is slower than just using power up.

If you really want, starting at ~18 or so won't hurt much either. That's easier to get to than you might think, a single Lucky Egg evolution splurge from level 15 will get you all the way to 18 if you caught enough Pidgey, Weedle and Caterpie by now.

Did I miss something, is there a way to level yourself outside of throwing pokeballs & catching Pokemons?

Level 20? That will take a while then.

Thanks, I will see how I progress further and whether I can get into an arena.

Evolving a Pokemon gives 500 XP. That's 1000 XP if you have a Lucky Egg. Pidgey, Caterpie and Weedle only need 12 candies to evolve and are easy to catch. So the best way to level is to catch ~180 or so Pidgeys, Weedle, and Caterpie, pop a Lucky Egg, and evolve them as quickly as you can. You can get about 45,000 XP in half an hour, more if you're quick.

Why is everyone fucking Blue?
So you won't get bored with all the gyms being your color.
It's probably quite bad for them because the same people will be stuck in the gym forever, and new people won't be able to join without a lot of effort. From my experience it's easier to take down a rival gym than train in a friendly gym to get another free spot.

Team Valor is all: "Let's use Pokemon to kill some shit.
Team valor here. Can confirm it's true.

If you evolve pokemon you get XP, same as hatching eggs.

Thank you. P/C/W are sofar been the common ones I meet at home.

Purdue University is always half yellow half blue. Everything east of Grant Street is blue (3 gyms) and everything west of it is yellow (3 gyms). Has been since launch.

Wonder if that's intentional.
