Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Man I can't compete with the kids on summer break with nothing to do. Every gym in my area has multiple 1k Pokemon on them. Having to work sucks.

Most nearby gyms are owned by Mystic now, big turn from the first couple of days. The ones that aren't will be soon, as all the Pokémon there are 4-600 CP below what's at Mystic gyms.

I found a spot a couple miles away that has four pokéstops lined up, and there's a coffee shop nearby and a wine cellar I like, so that'll have to pass as my go-to pokéball refill station. Probably will walk up and down the street on weekends like an idiot.

Dang, my highest level pokemon all have crappy attacks and my pokemon with best attacks are all lower Cp. My best attacker is my CP 693 Vaporeon, to the point where I can almost solo a 1019 CP Snorlax at a local gym. I'm debating on whether I should keep trying to power up that vaporeon, or save candies to evolve a different Eevee to something stronger. I'm learning towards waiting, but Eevees just don't spawn very often for me.

Maybe.
But we planned on sitting on a bus through munich all day tomorrow (when it's raining) just to see where different pokemon are.
So for passengers it wouldn't be fair.

People driving a car should be responsible enough to not be on the phone. Their fault. Noone elses.
Yeah. I don't think it's the app's or pokespots fault at all.

There's a reason in the UK you can get done for using your mobile while driving. It's people's responsibility.

I think that's my meme of the day

I'm lucky enough to be able to play at work. Also, right on top of a Pokestop and when my location freaks out enough, in range of 3 more Pokestops. No exaggeration, I dumped 100 pokeballs yesterday because I kept running out of space, and I've already expanded my backpack to 450 items.

So guys I'm level 19 right now, about a third of the way through. Is there a good CP value I should hold out for on evolving things from now on? Should I try to catch things that are like 450+ CP and evolve them?

I'm only level 12 and my best so far (like most it seems) is an Eeveelution Vaporeon at 1100CP, the eevee was powered up to 410.

Id imagine 450 is a good spot to start leveling up 1st forms.

I'd freak out if I found a 450+ starter.

God damn this game.

I have to drive to get to the gyms, just did for the first time and now the server went and crapped itself.

Fffffffff

If you have a level 1 and power it up to it's max cp and then evolve it. Does the CP meter reset? Or are weak pokemon inherently always going to be weaker than pokemon caught later?

I don't even have roads or blocks on my map at home lol.

Still manage to catch quite a bit out here, though I quickly run out of balls an have to drive into town (which has three pokestops and one gym) to get them

I just evolved an eevee last night and got my second flareon. It's a little higher level than the first one (it's 1158 CP). It kinda seems like the number you get is pure random. So would things over 400 CP probably yield 1,000+ CP?

Also did you use any points to level it up a little before evolving it, or did you do that post-evolution?

It doesn't matter when you level up.
The white half circle above your pokemon is "potential strength" for that specific pokemon.
Evolutions have a higher max value, but the white circle will be filled exactly to the same spot as the prior evolution.

So if you level up before or after evolving doesn't matter

Just tried it out. Walked for about 15 minutes going to what I thought was a pokestop, but it ended up being a gym which I couldn't do anything with yet so I just went home. There were no pokemon nearby anyway. Saw someone who I thought might be using it since they were standing around with their phone out but it turns out they were just waiting for the bus.

Are you meant to use the ar camera mode or just have the generic background? There was apparently a pokemon nearby but I couldn't find it in the ar camera mode at all.

Think I'll try this again when I have a friend with me, felt a bit nervous I might get mugged since I was walking with my phone out

So if I have two Pokemon that are the exact same CP, but one has the point on the white circle further to the left, I should choose to work with that one because it has a higher "potential?"

If you cant find it in ar mode you might not have a gyroscope

If you have two pokemon of the same type with the same CP, they will have the same white arch above them.

Man okay. This was too confusing for too long. I shouldn't feel bad about evolving them then. Now to decide whether or not I want to wait for higher level versions of ones I could evolve now lol.

is there any multiplayer in this game? Like ad-hoc face to face or is that just through gyms etc?

and whats all this 'upside down in your pocket' stuff? Is that an android thing or works on iphone too?

God dammit. They need to fix the stupid freezing when you catch a Pokemon.

Yeah I definitely think this has gotten worse with yesterdays update. I've lost an Abra, Magmar, Primape, and tons of Growliths and Pidgeys on that stupid screen since I updated.
I'm level 18 and I've never even seen a Gastly silhouette. And Gengar is my favorite Pokémon.

Feels bad, man.
Yeah I think it definitely depends on where you live. I'm in a desert and see sandshrews a lot but freaked out yesterday when I saw a weedle for the first time. I've also NEVER seen a water Pokemon in the wild here. I hatched two 5km eggs yesterday and was psyched about my Psyduck and Magikarp.

Just so I'm understanding this correctly.

If you're lvl ##. And you power up a pokemon so their arch is full for their CP. As you gain levels: ##+1, +2, etc. The arch % will decrease allowing you to power up the Pokemon more.

Lousy glitchy game cost me a good number of Pokeballs, a Rhyhorn, and a Bellsprout. Here's what I did catch today:

Caterpie
Arbok
Marowak
Shellder (hatched)
Graveler (evolved)

Along with a number of doubles, but most importantly...

And to get to Alakazam, I need...88 more Candies. Great.

I caught some sort of virus and it's been taking a serious toll on me but now I'm back home in childhood house and by just sitting here and opening the app every 10ish minutes I'm catching something new. Hardly any pokestops around though.

Caught a few magikarp and a pikachu today, as well as a fearow and some of the typical common mons. My 2 km egg hatched, but unfortunately it was just a caterpie D:
