Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

The Eevee you got from that egg with its CP meter like that + enough candy to evolve it was actually a pretty awesome hatch.

edit: Alright Crab. You and me outside now. XD

edit: Man so Jolteon needs a buff? He's one of top 5 faves :<

Sorry if posted, but someone caught a Mew supposedly..

So I didn't add it yet because the details aren't clear, but it was reported that McDonalds seems to be our first "sponsored" location.

Apparently there's a logo for McD in the code and it appears that all the stores will be retrofitted as Gyms. (This article specifically mentions battling there only, but I think it might be interesting if they attempt to have players trade only at gyms or something)

datadumps show that Pokemon only have Stamina, Attack, and Defense stats. I'm guessing Stamina is just a different name for HP, and CP is some function of all three. HP in Pokemon Go is perfectly correlated with HP in the main games, just at a reduced scale, so it seems like the stats are ported in some capacity, not entirely sure how. That seems to mean Pokemon that specialized in Speed got screwed over in Pokemon Go, because the speed of each attack is determined by the attack itself and not the Pokemon using it.

Looks like a really good shoop. The Mew model on the screen is right, but the "AR" one is the model from Pokemon Snap. It'd look identical to the model on the screen; more of a deeper pink.

Also, that Mew is not real. They don't have the white Pokeball symbol to the left of the name unless you've already caught one, so unless that guy has two Mews...

For Ingress I think jamba juice was one of the few corporate level sponsors. Not sure if those carried over to Go. Any one see jamba juice stops or gyms?

Looks like both the Mew and the Pidgeot are fake as they have a white box around them as opposed to the soft gradient to the background color like the rest of the listed Pokemon.

Was a bit shit ripping around town on the bike this evening.

Saw a lure active a little way off but a Starmie was a little further on. 2 guys tried to get it before me and their apps both froze. Mine escaped a great ball and vanished in a puff of smoke.

Figured out it's possible to hit 16 pokestops in 10 minutes at a fairly leisurely pace, that's not far off 5000XP an hour. Could probably adjust the loop to include less stops and repeat quicker/more efficiently. Next time I might just ignore the radar and stick to that instead, spent more time reloading the effing app.

Defense stat?

Snorlax is OP in this game isn't he?

Went out for a third time today to catch Pokemon. Definitely addicted..
My feet can't take anymore though so I'll stop there. Went from level 3 to 7 today. Good day.

now THAT I have no clue about, switching OS is a gamble even if the data is account-based. There might be some incompatibility. has anyone done this?

Yup, it's all good. I use an Android phone while out and about and my iPad for housekeeping/lazy incensing at home while doing other stuff on the same account. Works absolutely fine.

Second highest CP cap after Dragonite, yeah, and has higher HP than Dragonite at that CP. Snorlax base Def is only 65, though, not that high - it's the whopping 160 base HP that does it (and the 110 Atk). Don't think they've used his Sp.Def from the main series, or he'd be 160/110/110, which would be ludicrous even compared to Dragonite's 91/134/100.

They should at least have Normal attacks not affect Ghost......

That's what I'm worried about. The gym by my house is already level 7 with several mon over 1k CP. Fucking valor kids are going to conquer all the gyms around me before I even have a chance.
Yes, that will happen. At Ingress there are lots of places with L8 portals (the maximum level) shielded and fully recharged. The game becomes much harder for new players, true, but since Niantic wants the portals to switch factions often, they give advantages to attackers, or disadvantages to defenders (for example, they made it that portals lost 1/3 of their energy per day instead of 1/7, which made maintaining a large numbers of portals much harder, they cut on the supply of power cubes, which made recharging impossible, they limited the amount of mods a single player can place on a portal, they added extra bonuses for hacking portals so that you can obtain more loot even if you don't own it, etc).

That's when lone wolves disappear, and the teams start coming together to counterattack. Also, it's when communities split because of internal discussions. It's all part of social gaming, I guess.

data is saved on your account right?

so if I wanted to switch from an android tablet to an iphone I could without losing my progress as long as I log in with the same google account right.
Why it wouldn't? The days of data being saved on the phone for people to hex edit them are long gone, everything is stored in the server.

The only times people got banned at Ingress was because both phones/tablets activated at the same time from different locations (like, you forgot you had your tablet logged at home and played with a phone outside, it happens when you share your tablet with others and they turn the application on, for example).

It's pretty easy to get Mew. Just wait for another trainer to be like "Hey! Are you playing Pokemon Go!?" And when he starts to walk over, just fly away. The next Pokemon you run into will be Mew.

You are safe I started on iOS before changed to Android tuesday.

Was able to spend Google survey bucks as well.
