Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

No Co-Op, no. But you can each chip away at them if you have mons close to the beginning mon. You just need to beat one at all to knock off SOME prestige.
There actually is a form of co-op, it will pair teams of 2 if you attack at the same time. There's no way to control who, but if it works you'll see their pokemon on the far side of the gym attacking the same target as you. Pretty cool

Shop is down, repeat shop is down.
Welp, let us hope Niantic prepare this time for Japan's player.

You can gang up on the gym. Also the pokemon hp remain after each fight, so you can just grind it out.

Ahhh nice. Thanks. I didnt know that. Ill be hitting more gyms now.

So many missed pokestops, failed pokemon captures and non-accessible gyms thanks to the servers today.

They should put some of the microtransaction money in better servers if they care for the longevity of the app.

Trying to decide if I should spend my earned gold on incubators or incence. I like incubators since you can get pretty much any pokemon from them. Supposedly pokemon from incubators are a little stronger too and you get the extra candy for evolutions/powering them up.

It would be cool to have 3 - 4 eggs incubating at the same time.

Meanwhile tonight I caught a dratini while having an incence going, since it didn't show up on my radar at all I'm guessing it was all the incence doing.

OH GOD Japan launch is coming? THE PICTURES ARE COMING

The icon means your Pokémon is in the gym. After that, you don't know it's beat until you get it back into your inventory (might also be depleted on health too). So the longer you see that icon that means no one has been able to beat you out yet.

Thanks. Do I get rewards when someone loses to me?

I'd be very surprised if we weren't showered with a bunch of pokeballs and other items when the servers are more stable as compensation.

Do you have to be on the same team? I told Kark this was the only way we could do co-op. Otherwise he was going to choose Instinct.

I don't know about the release in Japan, if they release it at 10:00 you would believe that they unlock the map before that (they cannot take the risk of having an empty map at launch) but now it's still empty...

But yeah that would make sense that they release it in Asia today, I mean they released it in Germany and UK at 10 am and now the servers are getting crazy as we approach 10 am in Japan.

No, they just get wrecked and have to heal up XD

Your rewards are claimed as soon as you tap the shield on the Shop screen- so basically, when you feel like you have the most gyms you're going to get for that day, grab it and it starts a 21-hour timer. Best thing to do if you're going for the rewards is basically is to have one serious session where you cap as many as you can in a small radius and short timeframe, then "cash out".

I... imagine you would, I've never done it with someone who wasn't on my Team.

BUT, you could cooperate together in real life to take down a gym even without this feature. You just wouldn't be assisting each other within each actually fight. But Gyms go down much much faster when multiple people are attacking since even killing the first Pokemon lowers prestige.

Of course then you need to pick who gets to keep it... lol

The server suck so much right now. I don't even want to go to the park zzzzz

Expecting the servers to be terrible through the weekend. Today was a bad day. I should probably try to do something other activity and return to this game later in order to save myself the frustrations...

The dark green areas on maps, public parks, do they generate more uncommon pokemon more frequently than regular spots?
Honestly, I want to say yes, I haven't been though because there have been a lot of complaints about rural areas (which I imagine have a lot of public parks at least) having terrible Pokemon spawn rates regardless, but I have felt like every public park I've been to has had tons of Pokemon comparatively to my neighborhood. It could also be all in my head I guess.

But if they actually did this it's a great idea. parks are the best.

Apparently, Japanese launch is at 10 JST, in just under an hour.

According to my wife, who's friend at work is a friend of the Niantic Japan guy. There might be an official source somewhere but I haven't checked.

Wonder if the servers will survive.
I'm trusting you, if the info is wrong, expect a horse head on your bed tomorrow.
(wait, am I supposed to tell you beforehand?)

Guys there are 2 pokestops i can reach from home, am i set for life? Also, ive caught Pidgeot today, does that mean that there is a chance that a Blastoise can spawn anywhere? iam just lvl 5, suprised me.

Damn I was doing so well keeping my items under 350, and level 10 put me right back over my limit...

I'm gonna buy this bag upgrade aren't I :P

Had TWO Abras appear out of NOWHERE today, very exciting. And then I spied a charmander and power-walked like a madman and thankfully found him RIGHT before he disappeared.
Got lucky and got him on my first throw as I DC'd from the server. And then on my way back to my car got mauled by a zillion pidgys

Geeze, not sure if it's me specifically or the servers are bad, but I haven't caught any Pokemon since last night.

I've tried about 30 so far today, and after every throw I'm getting the Pokeball stopping glitch. Tried resetting, reinstalling...nothing.

Feels bad man

Guys,

I think Pokemon go is starting to take a toll on me. I walked 17k 15k and 21k steps last 3 days. I'm absolutely exhausted. I will probably take a 2-3 hour pokewalk tonight still. I'm sure I'll get bored of this game soon, but I'm too busy having fun for now.

Of pokemon that will spawn (so say Blastoise), it has somewhere around at least a 5% chance of spawning anywhere (at least from the beta). Then there's some other logic being applied we haven't all figured out yet, regional and geographic, that make it more likely for certain ones to spawn in certain areas over others. It's possible your trainer level does limit which you can see, but we don't have any idea of the breakdown either.

What's your phones service provider?

Missed a Staryu for the second time, this time it ran away, blah!

By the way hoarding lowly pokemon to use a Lucky Egg and then evolve at the same time as hatching eggs was huge for getting tons of experience.

So some questions now that I'm at a level I can start going after gyms. I have a few high CP duplicates and wondering which are best:
  • Whats the best Eevee evolution and moves?
  • Whats the best Hypno moves?
  • Whats the best Jynx moves?

Covered some serious ground today, started chasing a Muk around to no avail. Not worth chasing down 3 footprint Pokemon.

How does the incense item work? Do you still have to move around to get pokemon to spawn? I just dropped one while sitting at home and saw nothing at all for the whole 30 minutes.

Ok, thank you!

Vaporeon has the highest CP and HP of the Eeveelutions, although Jolteon has the highest CP and HP of Electric-types in general so is good for type coverage. Flareon is very powerful but slightly less so than Arcanine; but usually much easier to find. All three Eeveelutions have their uses.

Nobody really knows what the best moves are because while we know damage output, we don't know animation speed and therefore DPS. Your guess is as good as anyone's.
