Is there a good guide for tracking Pokemon? I've seen some videos and posts on Reddit but im more confused than ever.
Found the hardest gym ever. Its almost in a swamp completely out of place, some stupid electric box thats messed with some graffiti. Tried to access it for about 20 minutes but cannot get my character anywhere near it cause gps sucks hard there. The gym is protected by like a cp50 rattata cause someone was lucky enough to get the gps move his character next to it.

welp, I forgot to bring bug spray again, but other than that what a great session. I only had one particular target in mind:
also caught another bulbasaur, almost enough spearows and venonats to evolve them finally, and now I'm fiiinally just one eevee away from my first dice roll with the eons.
Really mellow night compared to the last few, where I was rolling around with groups taking down gyms or hanging out in lured spots with fairly high numbers of people milling about. Tonight it was just me and the mons under the cloak of night. I only had a Schrodinger's pokeball once, other than that it was smooth.
On the way home I took down a Valor gym in the name of blue and left my Electabuzz in charge, doubt he'll last the night tho. Got to practice my dodging a bit. It's tricky but satisfying.
15 mile bike ride, servers held, hatched some eggs, went from 13 to 15, gg.

As someone who has tried every combo to get a flareon only to come away with 4 valoreon and 2 jolteon... It's random.

You need to bite the bullet and buy an extra long selfie stick to get in those hard to reach gyms
I must say, this is unlike any other experience I've had. I went to a downtown area tonight and there were just tons and tons people walking around or hanging out playing the game. Some guy even played the Pokemon theme song really loud over some speakers haha I doubt we'll ever see something like this again, at least not for a very long time. Gotta enjoy it while it lasts.

Exactly the way I look at it.
Had another fun day downtown, SO MANY PLAYERS!!!! Went into the tourist area and people were even playing there. There was a rap concert in the park and the guy was filming the crowd... which was all people playing pokemon go. Even adults and grandparents which was surprising.

Hit level 20 today, and got a 2500 stardust level magikarp. Sitting on 203 magikarp candy to evlove this bad boy into a strong Gyarados. I figure by the time I get to 400 he will turn out to be about 1600+ CP.
Edit: when talking about relative strength, we should use stardust level as the measurement.
Edit 2: also managed to cap 5 gyms simultaneously just biking around the neighborhood tonight. Nice rewards.
Edit 3: ran into 3 IRL friends going to a little funk show right next door to a gym.

that reminds me. My local classic late night diner is a pokestop but the actual point is on the corner of the parking lot, and doesn't cover the inside of the building. I hope there can be requests to correct this kind of thing. If it were just moved slightly and you could get a table and drop a lure it would be awesome.
Would kill the hype, casuals would abandon ship. Instead make it more "mobile". Swipe/dodge attack. Fix those mechanics and fun

Just spent another two hours with some friends chasing Pokemon and taking gyms. Game is special I will remember these summer nights for a long time.

Man, just caught a 2500 stardust level slowpoke sitting here on my couch. I hope these 2500 stardust level pokemon become more regular now that I hit level 20. I had never seen one before and now I just got 2 back to back!! Exciting if true.
Im just 10 Magikarps away from Gyarados! Hope I can catch that many this evening.
They could keep Gyms the same as they are now with the swipe/dodge system but add a battle mode separate from it just for fun. I think it could work pretty well, especially if they add another gen sooner rather than later.

They will. And 3000 ones are not too rare either.
2500 slowpoke will give you a 1300 cp slowbro.

Maybe try getting as close as you can, then switching the app to the background of your phone, go around to the other side of the gym as quickly as possible, and then switch back to the app. Your character might then run to where you are, cutting through the gym and making it selectable.

It's how much stardust it will take to power them up once, basically a clever way to quantify the cp arc of any given one you catch. It's fun seeing this stuff develop in the community

But I did finally caught a Jigglypuff that eluded me a few days ago. Then another.
Gathered enough Eevee candies to evolve another Eevee, the strongest yet. I hoped for a Flareon, since it was the only one of the original three I've yet to obtain.
It was another Vaporeon, but...
It's the strongest one I got tonight.
Used a Lucky Egg while evolving the rest of my available Pokémon, so I'm now level 17 and alreqdy close to 18.
