Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

So are we theorizing that XS = higher CP ceiling? If so, what's the thinking here, from a Poke-science point of view? Smaller Pokemon are faster, thus able to perform a greater number of moves in a given period of time?

CP = trainer level, moveset, and DPS? Hmmm...

Not really, so far it doesn't make sense. In my example, both normal and XS have the same CP potential while XL is lower. The size may have nothing to do with it or maybe it depends on the kind of Pokemon...and maybe the attacks of XL Pokemon are stronger? So far, nobody has tested it enough (or at least I have seen nothing so far).

Also just caught a Kicklee, a crappy one though.

There's no correlation between XS or XL and either CP or HP. There have been some pretty large sample size tests done to corroborate this. Sometimes you'll have an above average HP Pokemon that happens to have XS or whatever; that's bound to happen given enough samples and is not in and of itself statistically meaningful.

What the ?!...
It seems those idiots don't know that Niantic won't warn people when ban hammer will fall because they did it with Ingress. Incoming salty tears next months.

Taking advantages of a social buzz instead of rejecting so you get a good expose and image is what I consider to be smart.
Litteraly business work their images and not everywhere there're buisiness with open mind.

yes but imagine how many people can get free pizza there
they will literally have to hand out free pizza the whole day

I think a pokestop sign and maybe a discount depending on your level would be smarter, so 10% discount for level 10.
but what do I know

Funny people complaining about nintendo selling an OPTIONAL accessory for 35 bucks. The app if fucking free, you can play and do well without spending a fucking dime, and they get mad because they try to sell something that YOU DO NOT NEED to play.

LOL

Whose mad? Stop creating your own narrative. I want it, I don't feel it's worth that price stating why, then stated what I feel it should be worth. Seems many agree. We will see how many of their 100m+ users or whatever buy the watch at that price. No one is getting emotional about not feeling a product is worth what a company is charging. Except maybe a LOL Nintendo. No one complained about the value of the F2P game either.

Ah, okay - so everyone was incorrect initially for thinking that CP ceiling was directly tied to your trainer level. I hope things like this are a sign of the game having a bit more granularity than anticipated, rather than just some essentially meaningless, randomly generated "stats" attached to every Pokemon when all that's really of any consequence is trainer level and CP.

Um okay, after running around my neighborhood this morning I've noticed that there are only 2 of 6 gyms left, and a bunch of pokestops were removed. Lame!

how many people actually buy? The preorders sold out already at both amazon and gamestop LOL, it is going to be a hit, just like the game.

I won't argue which is the best buisness plan, I'm just glad they're participating. It's not in France that you will see that.

Blah forgot about berries to use for Pokemon
Saw a cp 188 bulbasaur on my way home yesterday in my car and tried to catch it but it ran away lol

That free pizza deal will bankrupt the business lol , lots of people were already level 8 in Boston yesterday at this lure spot near prudential mall

How dare people complain about anything.

Everyone should just be happy with everything.

The reason people are annoyed is because it's offering features that really should have been in the main game. Not to mention it'a a cheap plastic watch that looks like a kids toy for £35 ($46 for reference, even with the pound being shit due to brexit)

Then there's the fact it doesn't even support Android.

The mouse and cat game started when the game launched. Even nowadays Ingress has problems with cheaters using custom builds and GPS spoofing applications. The massiveness of Pokemon will probably force them to apply better techniques to catch cheaters. Fortunately there's no proper chat or COMM, otherwise you would probably be getting spam messages selling you pokemon by now.

Finally got my own Gyarados, but he is trash :(
That special move sucks.

But when I thought I ran out of luck, this guy appeared. Used 30 berries and 40 ultra balls to catch him. At least it didn't run away.

you don;t have to buy it. why it should be included in the game if the game is free? they can't put every single feature on a free game and not charge for it, since you can play the game just fine without spending any dime.

Unless you think this game was developed for free, and nintendo should give everything for free out of the goodness of their heart

Niantic should address the problem of cities having massive advantage over rural areas instead of banning people. Some of us would absolutely love to go outside and be part of the fun but if you live in a town with a few pokestops then you're not going to have supplies or good pokemon to even catch.

I agree but the video isn't about that it's about cheating from your pc and never have to go out.

That's definitely true. In the village where I live, there is absolutely nothing. So one has to spend all day away in a city.

They already make plenty of money, I take it you saw the fact it's the highest grossing app ever, and that without some shitty plastic watch.

You seem to be under the impression everyone has to be happy with their decisions. They're entitled to charge for features, sure, and many others and I are entitled to complain at how sleezy it is locking usability features behind a £35 plastic toy.

Well yeah, I have friends who live a 10 minute drive from the nearest pokestop. Meanwhile there's places with like 15 on a city block. I even have a stop across the street and I'm constantly at 10 or less balls since every other one is a 10 or more minute walk away. And none of them are ever lured.

Well, if Nintendo had charged 10 bucks for the game and include all the features the watch does, people would complain. So yeah, they can't please anybody. I would rather not pay anything for the app and not have to pay for the watch, then have to pay for an app for a feature I might not use.

Amazon sold out of their preorders for VLR watches too! I wonder how many thousands they sold? Wii U was sold out, Vita was sold out, Dreamcast was sold out. I could go on and on. Preorders and launch day hardware sales mean shit. You took my statements the wrong way because you wanted to be quick to defend Nintendo or something. It's ok. Even so I'm not saying it won't sell. All I said was let's see.

Artificial restrictions in supply does not create a market value for a product if the supply will be manufactured to meet demand in the future.

September 2016 - We have banned our first wave of cheaters. Over 500 000 accounts were affected

I can smell the tears aready

Account is email tied right? So if I change device or change Apple ID and use the same email, I will login in to the same character? Should I delete the app and re-download it, I will lose nothing right?

Hidden values are back baby!

Or they could have included the feature in the game without charging?

Being able to still hatch eggs and find pokemon while the game is suspended seems like a pretty crucial feature considering how short battery life can be on phones.

I don't think I've ever played a mobile game where they've locked usability features behind a pay wall. Probably because you want to make the game is the best it can be so people'll come into the ecosystem and spend money through micro transactions, which is where they make the real money.

You're talking shit if you think they couldn't afford to add those features into the main game.

Hidden values are back baby!

They are indeed. Data dumps have found that each Pokemon has 3 IVs - one for Stamina, one for Attack and one for Defense. Stamina runs between 0 and 31, we don't know what Attack and Defense go between, but... it will be 0 and 31. :p

As a side note, it looks like some Pokemon are continent-exclusive. Mr. Mime only has recorded sighting in Europe, Tauros in North America, Kangaskhan in Australia/New Zealand, and Farfetch'd in Asia (specifically in Sokcho, the only place in Asia that can play the game...).

Have any of you folks visited locales you've never been to simply because of Pokemon GO?
Yes. I have a ton of parks and green spaces near my house, some of which I've never been to, or at least have not spent any significant amount of time in. It's definitely getting me out there.

the problem is that the feature you are asking IS NOT CRUCIAL.
you can play without it, if you want it, you pay it.

TALKING SHIT? nice, thanks for the offense

on the way back from a haircut, my son asked if we could go to the big park near the house so he could play Go.

I've never seen anything like this, really. Big groups of people walking the park hunting Pokemon. I mean they were like everywhere. Other families talking with him as we passed, swapping stories of what they caught/were looking for. I had to guide him along to make sure he didn't run right into someone while searching lol. But people were everywhere, hunting pokemon.

it's crazy.
