I'm currently investigating claims that some Pokémon are region exclusive.
I have been sent the concept of
Kangaskhan exclusive to Australia
Tauros exclusive to North America
Farfetch'd exclusive to Asia.
No idea what would be exclusive to Europe since I'm there.
Can anyone counter any of these? If you can, was it capture or egg hatch?
They glitched that medal out. I believe what it's meant to be is Caught 3 XS Height or XS Weight Rattata...or was it XL. I can't recall

During the rain we had here the other day there seemed to be more popping up (Horsea, Shellder, Krabby and Psyduck) but I think it may have just been the areas where I was they were finally popping up.
By the way just posting again, if you know of any major US/UK/other country chains that are doing something for Pokemon Go, please let me know so I can add it to the OP. I have a few there already!

Weird how this is the first time ever that shitty weather has prevented me from playing a game. I'm running low on balls, all I'm getting mostly Route 1 crap at home (with the rare appearance of a more uncommon Pokémon) and I just want to pop into town and grab some Pokéstops for more balls and good stuff but it's rainy and depressing and I'm not going out in this weather 
Hope it's nicer tomorrow, I need to restock my balls and hatch this egg I got yesterday, which somehow I've done 0.7km at home (I didn't work out how to start the hatching process until I got home yesterday).

Mr. Mime is the one exclusive to Europe. Some people have reported hatching exclusives, but even that seems to have died out.

Not a fan of region exclusive, especially as there is no trading right now and trading might only be local when it is added.
I'm all for regional rarity differences though, like Tauros common in America but rare in Europe and things like that, as it gives each part of the world a unique feel and we can all brag about being overrun with some pokémon that seems super hard to find in another part of the world.

Game has been launched today in 3 countries at same time: Spain, Portugal and Italia so expect servers issues, imo...

works if you sit still when i get home i pop them all the time and they come to me ill get roughly 5-10 pokemon per incense just sitting here

You will get additional Pokemon either way... But it has been shown that it works better while moving around.

Why do a rollout and still have the servers fuck up? Where is the preparation? It's almost like Niantic was born right out of Nintendos "give them a little, make them hunger" logic. I don't understand it.
The medal was originally supposed to be for catching TOP PERCENTAGE Rattata, but it was bugged.
Before the latest update, it said something like:
"Caught {0} Rattata of at least weight {1}"
But it wasn't working and didn't count anything.
The last update changed it to count just any Rattatas caught, but it did not include any caught prior to the update.
I was just at work lol. I never get water types there, just the usual Rattata Pidgey and Zubat combo. A Blastoise appeared too, though I wasn't willing to venture out to get more wet or lightning struck. I don't even know weather implementation is feasible but it was a funny coincidence if not.
Game has been all over the place for me today, pokeballs not closing has to be the most agrivating one of them all though, even when I wait and make the Pokeball at the top isn't spinning it still happens.
Also had Pokemon footprints not changing, every Pokemon all day has been 3 footsteps, I've had to rely on staring at the list to see what moves up and down it. And that's ignoring what I assume is a bug with having some Pokemon never actually leave the list, I had a golduck outline for about 45 minutes earlier when walking around a park, I ended up walking quite far away and it didn't leave the list, probably wasn't even in the park to begin with.
Also had Pokemon footprints not changing, every Pokemon all day has been 3 footsteps, I've had to rely on staring at the list to see what moves up and down it. I'm rather sure it only happens at times when you try to catch strong Pokemon which are at least orange.

I think this would be really fascinating if true. Then potentially, would South America, Africa and Antarctica have exclusives too perhaps?

So far I think we've found that incense will make a Pokemon spawn every 5-7 minutes for the half hour. Walking around will make more appear only because you're covering a larger area.
This is what I'm hoping is actually happening, but on the other hand, when trading is added, I hope it is world wide trading. Although, I think there's some merit for local trading, because you'd be forced to interact face to face with people. There's a mess of problems with that though of course (like people luring others to trade) but I think the fun of trading someone you meet on the street playing might outweigh the negatives.

From my experience, random wasted ball.
Its a defense mechanism for higher level pokemon. I figured it might be trying to teach you to do curveballs yourself. From what I can tell (just anecdotal), throwing a curveball might decrease the chance of that happening. Didnt read that anywhere else yet though, so not sure if its just my imagination.
Level 18 now, and I didnt get a single ball thrown "off" so far, if I do the curveball myself.

I anticipate this and curve every great and ultra ball no matter what. Never throw them straight. I do a half circle that starts at the pokeball and ends above the Pokemon. Never fails. Pokemon can still escape, but at least the ball isn't thrown on the floor
