Gyarados is Water/Flying so its 4x weak to electric.

Dragonite is Dragon/Flying so its 4x weak to ice.

ok well you can't blame the game for trying to be more than a 17-way game of rock, paper, scissors. And within the the mechanics of main games Pokemon type does still play an important role when it comes to using STAB and general type weaknesses. The end game wouldn't have reached the level that it has without the generally good changes that have been made.

Does where in the larger circle you hit matter for your chance of capture? Does chance go up even further if you hit inside the smaller circle?

Eggs hatched into Pidgey (argh), more eggs (what are they making into pokémon these days, next there'll be a pile of toxic waste?) and a Squirtle (yay!).

What's the max speed for egg hatching? I don't cycle quickly, but it still seems to only sometime count.

I think it's 20 km per hour or around 12 miles per hour.
