Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

I'm slacking off today. I only walked 10,000 steps, not including my sample journey in Costco. I did went from level 19 to 21 today.

Here's Downtown Disney. This place is lit at 11AM. There's like at least 10 more Pokestops if you walk in a line.
I caught so many Pokemons, and missed so many more Pokeballs that I'm struggling to get Pokeballs.
One doesn't need Bag upgrades if you're here.

I was there around 3-8pm and seemingly every third person was playing. Caught like 7 new ones!

You need to go from circling to release in one smooth motion. Like so:

Trace round the circle a few times then smoothly spiral out from it.
This is a great post, I am getting better at this. It's so much more fun to catch them this way too.

I noticed people in this thread talking about a new eevee naming trick to get what evolution you want. Does this actually work? (unlike many of the other theories that all failed)
And if does actually work will someone explain what names makes what evolution?

nickname then evolve

Rainer -> vaporeon
Sparky -> jolteon
Pyro -> Flareon

I'm halfway to finishing my Pokedex!

gonna go check it out tomorrow! I hope they dont hate Pokemon trainers there

my achievements/challenges aren't matching with my character's gender.

I'm working on"Battle Girl" "Punk Girl" and "Fairy Tale Girl" but my character is male. Anyone else having this problem?

So my least favorite thing about Pokemon Go is the music. Some of the music sound similar to existing battle themes but they aren't the same, so I sometimes expect the music to go one way when it doesnt >:(

The gym theme is decent.

Ugh trying to practice the curveball, does it need to be shining while im spinning it before throw? Or is it suposed to be one quick loop then throw?

I practice, it doesnt work. I get frustrated and just throw regularly and its a random curveball. -_-

Those are references to the NPC trainers in the main games. Schoolkids use normal types, punk girls use poison types etc etc.

one quick loop for me

From 10k per level @14 to 100k @23 is no joke. And then 200k @27! And it just gets worse from there.

To get from 23 to 24 requires as much XP as it takes to go from 1 to 15. That's a crazy hike.

It takes 200k XP total from 1-20 and like 1.4 million to get from 20-30 lol it's fucking insane

So I've had Snorlax, Ivysaur and Dragonair spawn near me today, and I've missed all three because of this footprint glitch that makes it impossible to track mons.

So lame.

footprint glitch?? You mean that's why nothing is less than 3 footsteps away? Crap... I went on a mad hunt for a tentacool today and never seemed to get closer.

Yeup. Tried to track down a Dragnair and literally walked a half mile in every direction - no reduction in paw prints.

If one were to start afresh, then one only needs to buy 2 Lucky Eggs at an extremely populated Pokestop place. Just catch as many Pokemon and evolve them during the Lucky Egg time. You should get to level 9 in no time, which is the level you get another Lucky egg. There's no need to buy anything else, unless you want to hatch more eggs. Those incubators are expensive.

I kinda wish I was a kid growing up to this. Being an adult sucks lol.

But found a 570 CP Eevee. Time to amass some candy! Going to try the trick to get a Vappy since I already have 1k CP Flareon and Jolteon.

If you really want to level up quickly, you can do so in Downtown Disney.

I just took a trip to Orlando for the theme parks and holy shit. Besides having downloaded the Go app immediately when it was available, I didn't decide to open it until I was stuck in the Orlando airport on Sunday, and it was lighting up with PokeStops. I played it very, very casually the past several days (I'm level 4 now *shrug*), but there was always some activity no matter where I was near or in the parks, especially Disney Springs (I assume it's like Downtown Disney). I just got back to NJ suburbia, and I now see my Go prospects are dismal in comparison.

I was totally engross in my trip, and I made a point to focus on that instead of playing the app, but I feel like I did pass on the Go mine everyone around me was taking part in that I can't realistically get back to in any meaningful time for this.

Had my first real experience meeting pokemon goers. Pokemon has gone too far!

You have the zombie hordes where everyone is moving at a snail's pace not taking their eyes off their phone.

Then there's the time-stoppers who stand in one place with their phones out not moving an inch and blocking your path.

Can't forget the drive-by shouters that yell whatever team they rep at you and proceed to drive away while rolling their windows up (smh).

All in all it's awesome to see so many people having fun, socializing and interacting with each other and the amount of people engaged in it is impressive. But it's annoying having to stop every 10 seconds just to see my friends fixated on catching that damn pokemon. I fear for the future of this world when the updates start rolling in.

Sitting in my house with 1 Pokeball... actually thinking of driving by some Pokestops to fill up. It's almost 2am here. Never thought a mobile game could have me this hooked

Man if they ever add breeding mechanics and a PvP system...drools.
This is my hope. Will keep playing actively for the next two-three weeks to come (will hit soft cap lvl 20 in a couple of days from now) and accrue a decent Pokedex that will feed future events and updates.

so i ended up getting a new phone for this game and my god it can get addicting seriously :P

my area had a lot of random pidgeys and weedles and the general stuff most people found but i did end the day off with a few eevees a ghastly and some neat gets like taurus and 27cp pidgeot who ended up popping out due to the incense effect lol i ended up losing a squirtle though and that sucked :C

Living a short walk from a street lined with gyms, stops, and bars makes it really hard not to go out and socialize at night...have had some amazing times so far

Def lovin the late night Pokemon go scene

Just got back from a local park with 15 pokestops in a 1 mile radius. Well over 1000 people were playing. Someone would find a rarer Pokemon and literally hundreds of people would run. Crazy.

Cant wait until hologram technology is competent in 15-20 years and Pokemon becomes the #1 sport on the planet. Pokemon battles in stadiums will be quite the spectacle.

Between the constant server crashes and the fact that I seem to be competing with children exclusively I think it's time to give up with this game.

After all the "Nintendo can't push hardware effectively anymore" it's funny how many "I just bought a new phone for this game" comments there are :)

Don't mean to derail the thread, just made the connection and it made me smirk.

This 3 foot glitch is killing me. Couldn't find Kabuto or Dugtrio today. Although, I'm not even sure they were here to begin with... It seems the ones that are spawning aren't on the list at all.

I observe this too, so I go out of my way to meet and greet with as many people as possible. Made many friends already and wow.... LOVE the experience.
