Pokémon Sun & Moon | Info and speculation thread

Primal Reversion, Mega Rayquaza, etc.

You mean those special abilities exclusive to specific Legendary Pokemon that have existed since forever?

Just like how megas are exclusive to certain mons?

I mean, it's not like all pokemon will be synching.

Also Ash-Greninja could just be a mega after all, since in the show the "Heroic Greninja" legend featured Ash-Greninja's design.

All but one of those are formes. Plenty of non-lengends have forms. And even some of the examples you've given are not Legendary but Mythical. Regardless no one said Primal Reversion wasn't going to be exclusive to legendaries.

So then why does all the marketing call the form Ash-Greninja then? They can't really take that back without it being confusing as fuck.

oh just saw the pic

none of those are remotely similar to how primals and rayquaza mega are featured though

like primals and rayquaza are literally mega evolutions with different names and slightly altered conditions

So then why does all the marketing call the form Ash-Greninja then? They can't really take that back without it being confusing as fuck.

it would be "trainer"-Greninja then, or "syncro-greninja" for the generic term

I don't see the point of these Synchromon nonsense. Not only are they redundant since Megas are a thing but how will they handwave the fact that your Pokemon won't look like your customizable trainer? Will Ash-Greninja retroactively become Synchro-Greninja? I just don't see Game Freak shelving Megas for something so similar.

Do you have insider knowledge because as far as I know there's nothing to suggest either way. Besides that, the prospective differences between the two and how they could work mechanically have already been talked to hell and back.

I don't care about mega or that Synchro nonsense crap, just give me the good old traditional cross gen evolution.

When Mega Mewtwo Y was first shown off it was called Mewtwo awakened form till they announced Mega and that Mega Mewtwo Y was one.

My predictions:

Legendary names + Typing
Some new Pokemon including your typical first route rat/bird
More info on Alola

I don't see them dropping anything huge. We didn't even know about Mega Evolutions until TWO MONTHS before XY dropped, pretty insane when you think about. Though we obviously saw numerous Mega Pokemon before that.

I remember seeing Mega Mewtwo Y before we knew about Mega but I don't remember anyone else.

They have already printed Ash-Greninja trading cards and what not. It's kinda too late to dial it back for a surprise reveal like "But wait! Now there's two Mega Mewtwo forms!"

Based on your trainer ID you are randomly assigned one Pokémon that you can synchro with, but the game doesn't tell you which one.

Become one with Weedle.

Nothing about Synchro sounds appealing yet tbh.

I don't like the idea of this being linked to Trainer Customisation, because then I'm designing my character around what I want my Pokemon to look like, rather than what I want my character to look like.

Maybe they just have some things which color changes based on your hair and skin color (the choices we saw in the trailer).

Oh yeah, and your trainer ID is hard locked to the game so even if you start a new save it'll always be the same.

I'd imagine it would take your hat at the very least into the equation as well.

Doubt the only colours they're allowing to be added to each Pokemon are skin tones and hair colours lol.

Edit: Oh, I guess you mean the changes are based on combinations like that. Seems like there wouldn't be much variation that way, though? Light skin and dark hair would be so incredibly common.

I doubt skin tone would factor in at all, actually.

Though I doubt they will change based on appearance, they would just have the standard synchro/mega form and that's it.

In which case it's a lesser form of Mega Evolution in every way. :/

If this in the games, hopefully it's implemented in a way none of us have considered, lol.

Synchro actually seems like how they initially explained Mega Evolution in the September 2013 Direct and hinted at in the January 2013 Direct.

In my experience last time, I'd watch the Japanese vid. It felt like they had some effort doing it lol

I had a dream Sun and Moon introduced summons, a seventh Pokemon you could call upon like a striker to perform one powerful STAB move---in my dream it was a Honedge.

Now that I think about it that might be cool.

Less than 10 mins, so exciting! Sorry if it's already been linked but does anyone have a link to the stream? On my phone and the Internets not too brill. Cheers in advance.

Would be a cool mechanic they could use barely in one game and never mention again

You too huh? I had a dream that I was at Game Freak's office and I was talking to Junichi Masuda and some Japanese woman.
