I love how people can afford mobile phones with cameras but not a scanner.

Because they cost nothing in Japan and Europe..
Hope it gets localized before the end of the year!

Pokemon New Sexy. Or, more appropriately, Pokemon New Sexy And Ugly Character. Geez, give us the Colloseum guy or, better yet, the Ruby Sapphire characters.

august 4th eh? maybe we'll see it localized for the US by the end of the year. bah, knowing nintendo's scheduling antics it'll come out in march 2006 to stagger out 1st party releases.

i can see it now...donkey konga 3 in january, puzzle collection in february, and pokemon xd in march. each will garner 'game of the month' honors since they'll be the only releases :P

(not that this scenario bother me too much since i'll have other systems keeping me busy)

A phone with a 2.0 megapixel camera costs 1 yen in Japan with standard 2 years contract.

Also, while you can snap a cellphone pic at the shipper's / store pretty easily, 7-11 employees have gotten pretty good at spotting folks hiding flatbed scanners in their pants.

Soon to be followed by the same game with 2 new monsters, POKEMON XO

And then followed by the same game with 4 new monsters and a new trainer, POKEMON XP

Reggies already talked about this push we already had a scan info update a while back. Its a REAL pokemon RPG for gamecube.

Question/Point is... WHY THIS FUCKING LATE IN THE LIFE OF GAMECUBE

stupid nintendo.

If it's any good it'd be my second Pokemon game (after Snap) that' I'd played through

Cube prob has 18months left on its own
Then Rev is BC, so will keep people busy waiting for Rev games to filter through

Press return again in the address bar and they work.

I'm all for a proper console Pokemon RPG but did the designers of Virtua Quest do the design of the main characters in this? Ugh.

How strange!!

Looks like FFVII meets Pokemon. Is Genius Sonority (the ex-Heartbest startup that Nintendo funded) making this one too?

Isn't this one actually being done by EAD? I'm sure Miyamoto confirmed that a long time ago.

Damn it says Genius somewhere? I'm less excited then...though I'll wait and see.

Now if this had only came earlier the Gamecube's lifespan. Hopefully Nintendo knows this and decides to release a Pokemon game for the Revolution's launch along with online capabilities so players can trade and battle each others' Pokemons across the world. That would ensure that a few Revolution's get sold. Ofcourse, I was never a big fan of Pokemon and have never owned any of the Pokemon games. I just know its a very popular franchise and it would benefit Nintendo to have it as a launch title for its new system. That said, this game looks decent. Nothing eye catching.

That's the scan from last year btw, sometimes I get the feeling a lot of people didn't realsie the game had already been revealed to a degree.

Pokemon Coliseum aside, Geniuis Sonority has a great pedigree. As Heartbeat they made Dragon Quest VI (SFC), Dragon Quest VII (PS) and remade Dragon Quest III (SFC) and Dragon Quest IV (PS). I suspect a lot of Coliseum's troubles came from the split in R&D over doing a Stadium followup and Pokemon RPG in one (resulting in half hearted efforts on both sides). Hopefully XD goes better, seeing as it's a more focused sophomore project.

Well I hope so.

The character designs are...ermm...not great to my mind, but luckily it's the Pokemon themselves that are the heart of any Pokemon game, and the vast majority of those I like.
