Well I hope so.

The character designs are...ermm...not great to my mind, but luckily it's the Pokemon themselves that are the heart of any Pokemon game, and the vast majority of those I like.

Well, character design was likely done by Game Freak/Creatures (like in Pokemon Coliseum). Genius Sonority/Heartbeat has never done scenraio work, they're always on game design and coding.

They should cel-shade the Pokemon games, it could look incredible...

this looks alright though. Graphics aren't the big thing on the GB versions, and this looks passable. I just hope it's an involving game... pending good reviews, I'm in!

Unfortunately, it's not going to be a full-blown RPG.

It's going to be kind of like Colloseum, just with some extra added adventure elements "similiar" to the Game Boy RPGs but it will NOT be a GameCube updated RPG like the handheld versions.

You can get a mobile phone with a camera for far less than a scanner if you do it right (for instante I made $50 on my camera phone). And one of the two is infinitely more useful unless all you do is post japanese game magazine pictures on the internet.

Ok, I was kind of hinting at asking how you know that. Does it say it in Famitsu? Do you claim to work for seither Nintendo or a magazine or something? Or just that you have sources?

If it's the last one, don't be insulted but everyone round here thinks they know secret shit lately, I'd just rather wait to hear it from somewhere firmer.

yea, I know. I was hesitant to say anything about how I know because I don't want to get ripped to shreads here. If anyone has been noticing at all, I always tend to leave neautral posts quirky ones or just short comments/speculation because I'm afraid of a lot of people here

But seriously, I certainly don't have any "souces" or any of that, not claiming to, but I am buddies with a certain someone that works for a certain company in NYC that deals exclusively in little monsters that come from balls. I'm not going to be spilling anything though.

You can tell from the screens it is a lot like the Colosseum RPG. Will Pokemon XD offer Stadium features? I'd love to see XD offer a "Stadium" mode ala Stadium 2 (Gym Leader castle, Petit Cups, minigames, etc). Colosseum 'Stadium' mode was very barebones.

Also, I see the Snorlax pre-evo! I wonder if he can be caught? If so, how will he be transferred to R/S/E/FR/LG? There is no data for him in those games.

Edit: Reading the scan, it looks like snatching is back.

Oh for fuck's sake. A friend let me borrow Colosseum, and I'm enjoying it. Haven't played the battle mode, just the story mode, and I'm loving it. But the graphics are a friggin joke and a half. And they haven't done anything to change it for this game. WTF are they doing this for? At least make it cel-shaded or something to give us a bit of the tv show feel. But what the hell? I'll probably buy this game if it comes out here, as I now intend on tracking down a used copy of Colosseum, but I'd like them to put in a proper effort for a console Pokemon game.

BTW, can someone tell me if the pokemon evolve in Pokemon Colosseum? I have my Espeon at lvl 48 now, and nothing yet. I'm worried I have to capture the evolved forms of some Pokemon, and that's kinda lame. I'd like to have my Pokemon evolve, that would give me a reason to actually use more of them. Oh, and I hope this new GC Pokemon game lets you capture Pokemon in the wild like the Gameboy games. If it's like Colosseum, I'll be rather annoyed. Not that it's bad, but it's not the full Pokemon experience. PEACE.

Espeon doesn't evolve. He is already evolved from Eevee. Most of the Pokémon you 'snatch' in the Colo RPG are already evolved forms. If the Pokémon isn't at the highest form, it will evolve once it reaches the proper level and is purified.

Thanks for that. I hope this new XD game closely mimics the RPGs. Leveling pokemon is my favorite part of the game. PEACE.

Thanks for the scans/link Neo... Not sure about the empty looking worlds the central character is running through though or the character design. The lead guy looks way uglier than the cyber generations dude and that's really something. I don't mind the pokemon cartoon art but this is hideous.

So, Genius Sonority is the developer again... I never liked Colosseum engine/graphics (I didn't like them, but they were OK)... but the characters's art & Pokémon models (hi-res N64 models) were really bad...

And I'm hating the new main guy looks... bad art indeed. >___<
Why can't they use the art/style from the GBA games? =|
