Awesome, too bad I live in Georgia so many people like that

I loved how Mccain looked so angry last night, he looked like he was going to snap at any moment...and he looked like he wanted to jump over and hit Obama.

No way that man can be pres for 4 years, he looks like he's about to die at any moment.

*sigh*

Palin: "We want to cut taxes, because we think like Joe or Jane the Plumber. They want to raise taxes because they think like that other Joe - that six term senator. Also, voter fraud is bad, and we don't tolerate it!"

/facesmack

Wait, she's campaigning in Maine?!

Waste time much?

No. I'm thinking PROFITS after the business has paid off all their expenses. You're thinking REVENUE.

Obama wants to tax PROFITS, not REVENUE.

I am talking about profits...business profits. I think you're still talking about the owner's salary. The business wouldn't buy a home, or a recreational car. The business would have to be making obscene amounts of money to have $250K in profits and be affected by Obama's increase.

Does Palin even have any idea how much voter suppression the GOP has been responsible for over the years?

It is shit like this that gets me angry, the hypocrisy is absolutely sickening.

Either way, Joe the Plumber would only pay $300 more PER YEAR on if he made $270K in profits. He'd be only taxed on those $20K of the $270K.

If you're making $250K in profits as a business, my hats off to you, because you're doing something right.

Is that an actual quote?

Well, as dumb as the "Joe the Plumber" conversation is .. at least it changed the conversation for a day and focuses it on Obama's tax plans. McCain accomplished something last night.

Lets also not forget, there are various ways that a "company" can be legally structured which affects its tax status.

Is Joe's company a proprietorship, an LLC, an S corporation, a C corporation, etc.?

This is another thing that bugs me about the business tax discussion. It's not like people don't have a choice as to how their businesses will face tax liability.

"Joe the Plumber" was so obviously a Republican plant to give a face to the small businesses that will be killed by Obama's tax plan. McCain's campaign is just so unorganized that they didn't think Obama would totally shoot it down - hence the "zero??" moment.

True, but I'd like to see someone correct the record. Joe's Plumbing will never be affected by this. This is for business with a board of directors, and investments out the ass, not for plumber's, hardware stores, book stores and mom and pop small businesses.

I can't imagine many Gamecube Huts making $250k in profits.

It seems like, by his own definition, that Joe would fall under the 5% making over $250,000. The S chapter?

Hmm... RedState had (another) big front-page post this morning saying that McCain was done and they should focus on the congressional races. It's gone now... I guess the plumber Joe media frenzy is giving them hope

I thought McCain pulled out of Maine? I guess Palin is being all mavericky again. Maybe she'll go to Michigan tomorrow.

Nah they're going for one electoral vote since in Maine they're given out by district.

This is getting stupid, let me just make this clear, there is no country in the world that is stupid enough to tax a business's revenue, they only tax the PROFIT. I thought the American people are smarter than this, after all they have the best Universities in the world.

Palin speaking at a rally now in MAINE. :lol

Maine as a whole is certainly blue, but like Nebraska they divvy up their electoral votes. Just like Obama put some resources into Omaha, I'm sure the McCain campaign is trying to campaign in the least blue area of the state.

Hint: The people that don't know this difference most likely aren't college educated.

I've tried to stay out of these threads because I don't plan on voting for either of the candidates, but don't you think it's a little early to say Obama has this wrapped up? It's entirely possible and not out of the realm of possibility that McCain could come back and win. By the way, I'm basing this on this article that is the main story on Drudge Report:http://cbs2chicago.com/local/obama.election.night.2.841341.html
McCain is in a bigger hole than Bob Dole. No, Bob Dole isn't dead.

maynerd dude, right now I can't play PC games because only the top third of my screen actually works. People posting pictures that are larger than most people's normal screens is not helping.

Joe the Plumber said last night on CBS, something like: "[Who a man votes for is private and should be left between that man, the voters booth, and God"]"

Hes so voting McCain! But seriously, having said that, if he comes out and represents a candidate than someone likely than something fishy is going on. There is no doubt in my mind the McCain camp will try to get him on their side.

That was the RNC.

I gotta say if I was the RNC right now, I'd completely drop any focus on McCain and save as much of the Senate as they can.

This is so lame. When exactly are they supposed to start planning the election night party, after the other person concedes?

Cool, I was wondering where the party was going to be. :D

The campaign still needs to plan for where Obama and his 100,000 closest friends will be during election night. I'm sure McCain is planning on something similar in Arizona, so I don't think this is an instance of Obama assuming the game is over.
